Obama's speech had me all up in my feelings. One of my biggest regrets is not casting my first ever vote for him when I was 18 in 2012. He does such an incredible job of making me feel good about this country, even with all the bad things going on. He makes me proud to be a Democrat and to vote against hate. But I can safely say that I'll be okay when my first ever presidential vote is for Hillary tomorrow :) (I voted for her in the primary, so it's not my first ever!).

Tomorrow night is going to be surreal. Despite the fuckery that will ensure over the next few months and the next 4 years, I will 100% be ODing on hopium both tomorrow and on inauguration day. That millenial-only electoral map gives me a lot of hope about my generation and the future, despite the awfulness that's going on right now. Fuck the GOP now and forever.

(I don't want to think about the amount of schoolwork I'll be able to accomplish in the next 27~ hours)

overdosing on hopium. keep that racist tangerine below 200

Kurt Eichenwald’s huge list of Trump failures destroys GOP nominee’s self-proclaimed business prowess

Newsweek reporter Kurt Eichenwald has spent the election researching Donald Trump so thoroughly that it has even prompted investigations and lawsuits.

Playing the role of a closer, Eichenwald went off on a Twitterstorm of his research that outlines the horrifying deals that should eliminate Trump’s business prowess as a qualification for the White House:

Huge Tweet List Follows

Kurt Eichenwald absolutely destroys Trump with these tweets and his articles on Newsweek. I love it.

This feels, uh, significant.

Latinos aren't the only ones seeing big jumps in turnout in early voting.

Asian-American voters have increased across the board in key states being targeted by both presidential campaigns. That's according to an analysis by Catalist, a Democratic analytical firm.

The racial group in more recent presidential elections has tilted heavily Democratic.

Ballots from Asian-Americans have roughly doubled in Florida, Arizona, Virginia and North Carolina.

In Georgia, ballots from the group have almost tripled.

Smaller in population, Asian-Americans typically make up about 1 percent to 2 percent of a state's vote share. But they have become more pivotal in closely fought battleground states with larger numbers of their communities, such as Nevada and Virginia.

The new politics of Cuba

8Y06eny.jpg

Nilda Mesa, a Cuban-American who came to Miami from New York to volunteer, said her canvassing across Little Havana has led her to disagree with reports that Cubans could give Florida to Trump.

“What I’m actually really excited about is how many support Hillary,” she said. “Fewer and fewer really support Trump. There’s a real shift.”
For many Cubans like Mesa, the prospect of a Trump presidency is especially hard to think about.

“People I think have a visceral reaction having escaped dictatorship to seeing the prospect of another one coming up,” she said.

“We moved here to get away from the kind of strong-arm dictating, stuff that you find there,” she added. “I come from two generations of political refugees so to me, it’s vitally important that people get out to vote and make sure we keep out this extremism.”

I have waited 8 years for this moment.

I supported Hillary in 2008 in the primary. It was a relatively painless pivot to Obama and I adore him and all that he has done.

But part of me still burned for this moment. It was just a little bit of unfinished business.

It is time.
