CNN just said they have reports that she will be gone by the end of the day. Whatever that means.

Being that Obama appointed her into position he may very well step in.

What I'm seeing reported is that the only way she'll resign is if Obama requests it.

Even to the end she wants to drag Obama into the mud with her. This woman needs to be removed from any position of power in the party.

Just now on CNN: Clinton and Obama camps are saying (anonymously, of course) that either DWS will resign or "it will be done for her".

It's amazing that even in the midst of this shitty scandal how quickly the DNC is moving to put this to bed. In contrast to the shitshow from last week it's great.

Also in Assanges attempt to blow up the DNC he might have actually made it stronger because DWS was shitty anyway

Look, on My Little Pony sometimes emails get hacked and released by the Russian government to sway the election deciding which pony is the prettiest. Ergo, there is no reason for DWS to resign.

Unknown is relentless. They trained these DCCC people too well. They do not take no for an answer. I will probably donate to Russ again soon and will also get Tammy Baldwin again before she is up for reelection, but if I want to donate to some swing state/close races, I will do so directly. Next time they call, I'm going to tell them to stop calling because I answer them hoping they might be polling firms

You're all hating on the third woman ever to chair the DNC and the only one in its history to chair for longer than a year and two months. Debbie has overseen the DNC during one of its roughest times, ever:

- Having a president who has whipped up more conservative fury than we've seen since LBJ
- Having lost a critical supermajority after all political capital was spent on historic (and now severely crippled) health care reform
- Having ALL LOBBYIST FUNDING FROZEN BY GODKING LIBERAL SAVIOR BARRACK OBAMA
- Having to incubate the tremendous growing social movements we have going on in this country like gay rights (of which we have not seen before since the 60s and 80s)

and you all despise her because you read some trash thinkpiece on POLITICO and because she tried really hard to make sure our country didn't bend over backwards and destroy itself by electing a socialist first time Democrat who doesn't even know how he'd do the things he'd say he'd do.

I'm avoiding PoliGAF for the rest of the day, peace out, traitors.

I think the RNC platform is the biggest story. That did not get nearly enough play. It's very fishy looking that Trump had no care at all for the platform except that. I mean "the gays" love him but he didn't care about conversion therapy in the platform, yet he steps in and makes it Russia-friendly.

Letting her speak is fine. A few boos wont matter as long as the rest of the convention goes smoothly. I don't like her. but I do feel some sympathy for her. DNC chair is a pretty thankless job no matter how competent you are.

Agreed. I think the boos are for entirely different reasons. Cruz wasn't endorsing and that showed fracture.

It's not like she isn't for Clinton lol and again Dems come out looking unified after all of this.

Sure they could have done without these emails but the result imo is less toxic. Now dems can push the whole Russian Gov trying to influence American politics angle.

I like DWS. I don't personally see what all the fuss is about. However, no one can outrun *DUNDUNDUN* optics. At a certain point, it's easier just to eliminate an ongoing point of contention, rather than continue to have it be divisive. Unfortunately, throughout history, some of the best people get thrown under the bus.

It's obvious Debbie wants to go out on some grandstanding high note by announcing her resignation "officially" at the convention.

Like I said, I hope she gets booed out of the building.

She should be falling on the sword, and basically asking for forgiveness during this speech. Have no clue why they would even let her speak, but my guess from what has been reported so far is that she is stubborn and wouldn't leave easily so this was a compromise.

I think the situations are different. This is a unified decision for her to resign. Letting her speak is probably just throwing her a bone.

People wanted Cruz to endorse the GOP nominee. He didn't. I think that showed division. That said they need to let her speak as early as possible so we can just move on.
