I trust Johnson to govern the country a million times more than I do Stein. Stein would obviously give us superior SC picks though for liberal purposes.

Really the only thing that gives me pause is the Supreme Court picks but Stein would make liberal a bad word again and the republicans would have control for a long while. Still I think we could get away with only 1 Johnson pick if RBG could make it another 4 years. Of course in willing to watch this disaster tonight and maybe stein will change my mind

Oh yeah so I've now gone door-knocking and phonebanked for some state-level candidates here. I don't think Piotrowski has a chance so I'm working to try and flip one of the state rep seats in the district as well as the reelection campaign for our state senator. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be, people are mostly pretty nice about it and seem excited to get information, feel strongly about expanding Medicaid or protecting public lands here. One woman basically listed all her concerns that were typical Dem talking points in Idaho (health care, education, public lands) and then when asked about her party preference said that she is a Republican, which was kind of amusing. I'm pretty excited because I think we have a real chance to win this and I'm glad to be a part of it.

The only depressing thing is that this is only one of two vulnerable R seats and this election will mostly be defense for state Democrats, according to one of the local party guys when I asked.

I'm actually a tiny bit concerned with who she might pick, considering her VP choice and some of her stances.

Former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer says she suffered a “stumble of the tongue” on Tuesday when she seemed to call Hillary Clinton a “lying killer” during a radio interview.

“People want a fighter. They’re tired of the lying killer, uh, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clintons of the world,” Brewer told Mac & Gaydos on KTAR News, the audio of which was first reported by Mediaite.

When reached by phone by BuzzFeed News on Wednesday, Brewer said she just mispronounced Clinton’s name.

“I was trying to say Hillary Clinton,” Brewer said. “It was a stumble of the tongue.”
“Good grief,” she added.

Oh god, a local car wash has "ALL LIVES MATTER" on their huge fucking electronic billboard. Every time I see it, it makes me angry. I drive by it every day going home from work, but it cycles so I actually hadn't seen it for a couple of weeks. Made me just as angry today as the first time I saw it.

But it also suggests that Trump, who just a few years ago called the Clintons "wonderful people," is likely to fail for the same reason the vast right-wing conspiracy of the 1990s did -- buying too much into their own caricature of the Clintons and assuming the rest of America sees the same thing they do.

Ya, it's more about competency for me. Stein is totally unfit t be President. Johnson is ideologically opposed to me, but if I lived in a world in which I didn't have Hillary...I have to be pragmatic and go for "next least bad." Johnson would be opposed by the GOP and the Democrats, so I'd feel better than Jill Stein who is a wackado.

It's pretty funny - definitely in Katy Tur's case it was going to be this short term thing until he dropped out of the primary.

When I was a teenager I wanted to get involved so I did some phone banking and volunteered at events for Jon Corzine. -_-

The aftermath kinda put me off from participating publically lol.

Haha. I've never snuck into a bar.

I went to college in NOLA where 90% of the bars are 18+ and you just need to get someone to buy you the drink. I never really was that bothered by our shitty alcohol laws. (Which imo is what Bernie should have run on to get the youth vote: weed and booze!)

I wish poligaf would do a NYC meet up. Me and B-dubs, makai have chilled a few times.

Yeah we have an autobody shop doing that here in CBus. It's pretty gross.
