Trump unhappy Jared Kushner took a powder on the ski slopes as health care bill floundered

Washington (CNN)While the rest of his senior staff scrambled all day Thursday and Friday morning to squeeze votes for President Trump's flailing health care package, one person remained notably absent: Jared Kushner.

Along with this wife, Ivanka Trump, another key cog in the president's inner circle, Kushner was on vacation, skiing with family in the posh Colorado town of Aspen. Paparazzi caught Jared and Ivanka taking leisurely strolls, enjoying ice cream cones with their three kids and winding their way down the slopes.
Meanwhile, back in Washington, Trump was fuming. According to a source close to the president, "[Trump] is upset that his son-in-law and senior adviser was not around during this crucial week."

I shouldn't expect even a quantum of perspective from this guy but I'm still blown away. YOU GOLF EVERY WEEKEND ON THE TAXPAYERS' DIME INSTEAD OF TREATING POTUS LIKE A FULL TIME JOB AND YOU'RE MAD ABOUT THIS, YOU FUCKING KNOB GOBLIN?

Can anyone give me a heat check on Seth Abramson's credibility because this tweet thread is pretty interesting.

It pulls together the Rosneft threads into a tighter narrative.

Now that the healthcare vote is no longer pressing, what does GAF think about this?

To summarize: Seth Abramson claims Trump met with ambassadors from Russia, Italy, and Singapore, among other attendees from his inner circle (Sessions, Kushner, Manafort), at the Mayflower hotel in April 2016 just prior to giving a foreign policy speech there that night calling for normalized relations with Russia. After winning the presidential election, Russia sells 19.5% of Rosneft, its national oil/gas company, in a deal brokered by parties from Russia, Italy, and Singapore, to parties unknown. Abramson claims Trump and his associates get the 0.5% of that sale (approx USD$350 million) in exchange for lifting sanctions on Russia now that he is president.

Just a series of unrelated coincidences? Could be a great John Le Carre novel brewing here, if nothing else.

If they decided to write about it in a Twitter thread, rather than publishing an actual story about it with sourcing and editorial oversight, rule of thumb says its complete kneejerk circumstantial bullshit.

Seth Abramson is a crazy person with zero credibility. He's HA Goodman with control over the English language. If someone legit comes out with this then we'll talk, until then...

Plus, if this were real then someone would want to publish it. Odds are he has no proof of any of it and has been laughed out of every publisher's office.

Wouldn't it be dope if, you know, Republicans actually tried to improve healthcare next time instead of ruining it? Wouldn't that be cool if it were the lesson learned, rather than hoping as the ACA gets worse in some states due to Medicaid fuck ups and Democrats will be blamed for it? With, uh, I guess the end goal in that scenario being they just fuck over poors on a delayed timetable?

Would be pretty cooooooool if instead Repubs go to Dems and are like, okay we'll fix this up, just let us win by calling it something Republican-y.

The whole mass rise of anti-semitism during the election shook a lot of right-wing Jewish folk, I think.

I can think of some exceptions.

Yeah but can you honestly say the world isn't a better place for Eric Garland? Now every Tuesday and Thursday when heading to class I get to say "Guy...it's time for some game theory."

Obamacare will probably last the year and then explode

Per trump or something

How can republicans defund it? Not pay states for Medicaid?

Paul Ryan:
"Moving from an opposition party to governing party comes with growing pains. And boy, we're seeing those pains today."

"We were a ten-year opposition party, where being against things was easy to do...in three months time, we try to go to a governing party."

.@SpeakerRyan: "Obamacare is the law of the land. It's going remain the law of the land until it's replaced."

ahhh

It is still interesting that that the ambassadors of Russia, Italy and Singapore met with Trump's people at his first major foreign policy address though, and that the Rosneft deal went through those countries. More smoke.

Other participants included Senator Jeff Sessions, several Members of the House of Representatives and the ambassadors of Italy, the Philippines, Russia and Singapore.

https://cftni.org/recent-events/donald-trump-delivers-foreign-policy-speech/

More than a month after Russia announced one of its biggest privatizations since the 1990s, selling a 19.5 percent stake in its giant oil company Rosneft, it still isn't possible to determine from public records the full identities of those who bought it.

The stake was sold for 10.2 billion euros to a Singapore investment vehicle that Rosneft said was a 50/50 joint venture between Qatar and the Swiss oil trading firm Glencore.

...

In addition, public records show the ownership structure of the stake ultimately includes a Cayman Islands company whose beneficial owners cannot be traced.

And while Italian bank Intesa SanPaolo leant the Singapore vehicle 5.2 billion euros to fund the deal, and Qatar put in 2.5 billion, the sources of funding for nearly a quarter of the purchase price have not been disclosed by any of the parties.

"The main question in relation to this transaction, as ever, still sounds like this: Who is the real buyer of a 19.5 percent stake in Rosneft?" Sergey Aleksashenko, a former deputy head of Russia's central bank, wrote in a blog last week.
