I'm pretty sure Trump thought being president would be just like his businesses. He'd tell Congress what to do and they'd obey him without question. Realizing just how limited his power is has to be killing him inside.

He basically asked her why she thought Trump won and she went on to the typical answer her and Bernie went on; He tapped into "anger" and that Trump was full of shit. But then he was like " oh that's great. Trump lied to them but they don't care and still aren't voting for you Pocahontas".

He made it as awkward as possible for her pretty much

Saw on my FB feed a video compilation posted by Maher of all the times Trump called Warren Pocahontus.

Anyone have or seen the story about Trump campaign paying Russian hackers? Pretty big story.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/apr/28/trump-russia-intelligence-uk-government-m16-kremlin

Between March and September, the December memo alleges, the hackers used botnets and porn traffic to transmit viruses, plant bugs and steal data online from Democratic party leadership. Two of the hackers had been “recruited under duress by the FSB” the memo said. The hackers were paid by the Trump organisation, but were under the control of Vladimir Putin’s presidential administration.

He was still talking about "repeal and replace."

This is why the healthcare people I follow on Twitter (like Topher Spiro and Andy Slavitt) were talking about calling GOP reps and scaring them into not even thinking about supporting Trumpcare. We know Ryan and his ilk are trying to put pressure to pass this crap.

So it seems like the Alt-Rights new genius plan is to make up a new White Power symbol, then all show that White Power symbol... to fool the media into thinking that they are racists?

I don't get what the end game is here. Ha ha, we only worked in an organized fashion to make you think that we are Nazis. You should've seen the look on your face when you thought we were total shitbags!

And Alt-Right twitter is spamming the "OK" emote on everything. We've gone from parentheses to milk to the fucking "OK" sign.

A notable thing with that image is that the other 3 presidents are smiling, while Trump looks like he's trying to push out a poop. Fox making choices.
That's not a choice by Fox. That's what Trump actively decided should be his presidential photo.

I saw Cassandra go from Ferguson protest supporting Berniecrat to full blown Trump supporter.

It was fucking disgusting and it's why I look at everyone on the left with a side-eye.

That was horseshoe theory made flesh.

Seems less about it being about "haha we tricked you" and more about stirring the pot of white resentment, which eventually bolsters the alt right's numbers. The natural (admittedly understandable) reaction to this is going to be "that's just an ok sign, what the fuck." But take that a step or two further and you get to "this is censorship/why is everyone so sensitive/who cares/this is why Trump won/but what about black people and gang signs/blacks Jews and women cry about everything now of days -" and then like a Pokemon they evolve into an alt righter.

It's pretty interesting. Sort of like the troll equivalent of those fraudulent "black crime/illegal immigrants with food stamps/etc" stories that are shared on FB to foster white resentment and a couple clicks later, grandpa is on a hate group mailing list.

Yeah, that's basically what this is. Cassandra is pretty transparent about it on her Twitter, actually (she doesn't explicitly say this but it's heavily implied)

I've seen the "ok" thing talked about, but isn't it really just a reference to the Pepe meme where he makes the same gesture? Am I to believe that Jim Hoft and Mike Cernovich are reading 4-chan and perpetuating a fake white power symbol?

Yeah? What else would Cernovich be doing with his time? The whole game is to find things out in the open that they can reappropriate. They don't even need to go to 4-chan, they have a twitter army that brings this shit to them.

They did it with Pepe. White Supremacists love benign symbols like 14 or 88 or a cartoon frog or some parentheses or a glass of milk. It's the type of delicious meme magic that Paler Luckey was funding.

Seems like she is one of those people who care more about just upending the system than anything else.

Who is Cassandra?

From what I've gathered, some social media star (or something like that) who used to be really liberal and supported Bernie, then switched to supporting Trump

Works for Sputnik now, a Russian news service that recently applied for WH press credentials (or maybe has them?)

Suddenly he's in a position where his decisions affect the lives of millions, and the people he needs to make deals with face reelection every 2-6 years. Politics is all give and take, it's rare you have a deal where each side walks away without losing anything. Wouldn't you know it, he's been caught completely flat-footed as a result.
On top of that, as a person in public service, Trump's leverage in a negotiation is significantly lower than as a wealthy business individual.

Ugh, Trump invited Filipino President Duterte to the White House. He praised Duterte's war on drugs effort in his country. I'm absolutely fucking disgusted.

Because of course he would.

He just adds reasons to despise him every single day.

Duterte has the best War on Drugs, just phenomenal. Bigly successful. In America, drugs are as cheap as candy bars, just sad. In Phillipinesland--and this is true--in Phillipinesland they are almost impossible to find now. You can't get em anywhere, unlike here where you can get them in schools and playgrounds. A lot of people, very smart people, are telling me we should find out how he did it. Tremendous success.

Every time I try and write something that sounds like it would come out of Trump's mouth I get depressed...

Didn't want to start a new thread for this but this anecdote just happened to me. I have a coworker with a kid in the national guard who is scared we're going to war with North Korea but voted for Trump because she "couldn't let hillary win." Its like, every republican president since the 80's has started a war. What did she think would happen?
Which answer would you prefer?

a.) Every President in the last hundred years has involved the U.S. in a war.

2.) The U.S. hasn't been at war since 1951. Only Congress can declare war.

It's actually iii.) Her vote didn't decide the Presidency.

I wish this could be boycotted.

This more than anything else, tells us exactly who Trump is.

Duterte made headlines last year when he told former President Barack Obama to “go to hell” after Obama criticized the Philippine leader's drug war.

“I am the president of a sovereign country, and I am not answerable to anyone except the Filipino people. Son of a b---h, I will swear at you,” Duterte said.
Makes sense Trump would like him.
