Associated Press said:
WASHINGTON (AP) — By slashing corporate tax rates, the Trump administration said Monday, the average U.S. household will get an estimated $4,000 more a year.

This stunning 5 percent increase is likely to be met with skepticism from tax experts and Democratic lawmakers. Spread across every U.S. household, the White House analysis claims it would generate "conservatively" an income jump totaling $504 billion, or about $200 billion more than the revenues currently generated by the corporate income tax.

With this new report, the White House is making a populist argument for its proposal to cut the 35 percent corporate tax rate to 20 percent. Trump has pitched his tax plan as supporting the middle class even though the details point to major companies and the wealthy as the biggest winners. Polls suggest that voters generally frown upon the idea of cutting taxes for businesses — essentially rewarding these firms for avoiding taxes by exploiting loopholes and keeping profits overseas.

The analysis by Kevin Hassett, chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, said that the considerably lower rate would spur more investment by companies, which would then boost hiring and worker productivity. The average income gains from the reduced rate would range from $4,000 to as high as $9,000, the administration said. Those figures, however, rely on research arguing that workers — rather than investors — would primarily benefit from the lower corporate rates.

This is some straight trash. What a blatant lie. I am fairly certain even most GOP voters don't believe this trickle-down garbage any more.

They're eventually going to try to couple this with large anti-trust cases against media/ tech firms. He'll couch it as Clinton v. Microsoft ver2.0 and his base will eat every last morsel while Ajit Pai pushes policies that increase their internet bill by 50%

They're taking a random number value, applying magic, and then saying it is what people will receive. What a ludicrous attempt to pass this off as a good thing.

So on Morning Joe, a Forbes reporter is breaking a story that Wilbur Ross might have freely admitted to breaking the law when he was threatened with being removed from a Forbes list. Lol.

I’ll try to find the URL.

Art Laffer just said that he doesn't know how a Democrat could vote against the big tax cut/reform bill and live with themselves! @FoxNews

Stop fucking watching and do your damn job.

Also lol @ art laffer

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
The Democrats only want to increase taxes and obstruct. That's all they are good at!

The EIC was recently interviewed on Pod Save America.

His head is too far up his own... site... to listen to any constructive criticism. After about 10 minutes, I had to just fast forward to the end.

He sounded absolutely pathetic. Lots of "we're not going to get it right all the time" and "you have to look at the *totality* of our coverage."

KY-6 fundraising, Amy McGrath (D) destroyed the incumbent Andy Barr (R) in fundraising, $772k to $300k. It’s a long shot pickup but McGrath won’t be hurting for money at least.

The fight against ISIS isn't even over, why does Baghdad think that now is a good time to start moving on the Kurds?

Baghdad is playing hardball with the Kurds over their independence move. They were the OTHER independence referendum of the last few weeks; the Kurds want to negotiate and Baghdad won’t hear it. There was a similar fight over air traffic issues after the vote.

In news from across the pond, tankies got a platform.

Everyone's rightfully talking about the NATO stuff but holy crap what timing on the immigration stuff considering I was literally just talking about nationalism and anti-immigration sentiment and how I think they can't represent genuine leftist politics yesterday

EDIT: Also they voted down a motion to aggressively pressure Israel into a two state solution because...they want Israel to not exist? I'm so confused

"Harvey Weinstein's $250,000" is trending on Twitter, because HRC won't sit down and STFU.

Every time she speaks or appears, she stirs the pot.

Sigh, I remember a thread in OT that asked why Democrats can’t fling **** like Republicans can. Well, conservatives are the progenitors of things like the Black Codes and Jim Crow, and they’re trying to bring those things back. You’re going to lose if you try to play against someone at a game they created.

"From the river to the sea, Palestine must be free."

“Trump thinks Pence is great,” Bannon told me. But, according to a longtime associate, Trump also likes to “let Pence know who’s boss.” A staff member from Trump’s campaign recalls him mocking Pence’s religiosity. He said that, when people met with Trump after stopping by Pence’s office, Trump would ask them, “Did Mike make you pray?”

Ugh. I hate it when Trump makes me chuckle, but that's kinda funny.
If only Trump used his shade-throwing powers for good

Last I checked, Hillary Clinton was in the woods for like six straight months and that didn't stop the GOP from trying to tie everything to her.

Sitting down and shutting up is the last thing she should do.

Trumped up trickle down

these companies have mountains of cash. Taxes aren't stopping them from spending a few million a year on more employees. It is causing them to offshore all their money which is bad for the US in a different way, but like the article says -- I don't think they should be rewarded for that

I like the people that want the Clinton Foundation to give back the money.

Give it back to Weinstein? Give it to a charity? They already are a charity!

This type of report could legit damage his appeal to the Christian Right if it was reported on those platforms.

It won't be reported on those platforms.
He's divorced, has almost definitely order mistresses to get abortions, is vulgar, and is on tape talking about sexually abusing women. The Christian Right doesn't give a fuck nor will they ever will. If you start talking about this stuff they just say God sometimes sends a flawed messenger to carry out his will

I was in support of getting rid of NATO up until it became obvious how much of a threat Putin posed. Still not a fan but you have to work with what you've got.

I would think that Russia's recent resurgence as the world's supervillain would make keeping NATO around a fairly obvious thing. They'd totally just invade everything if they thought they could get away with it.

And yea, the rest of it is pretty dumb as well. Whoever came up with it needs to take a step back.

That was literally Jerry Falwell's argument last year

They're really got a great racket. Either their champion can only be the most religiously pure Christian you've ever met, or someone who isn't that at all. The only real criteria is to be a registered Republican. As long as you've got that, you're their guy.

I don’t want to overthink this because I am trying to cut down on taking individual bad examples as representative of problems with the new left, but man, foreign policy is a real blind spot in the DSA and Young Labor.

Can’t be too surprised at them opposing freedom of movement given that it’s Britain and even Bernie opposed open borders, but I agree it’s just a fundamentally reactionary position and ultimately an ethnonationalist dog whistle to say you’re a leftist who wants to limit immigration.

Funny, when the Weinstein stuff first broke there were howls about why Clinton want saying anything. She just can't win either way apparently . . . I can't imagine why.

“Why hasn’t Hillary said anything yet?”

“Why did it take Hillary five days to say something?”

“Why does Hillary keep saying things?”

I understand the important optics of returning political money from Weinstein. Returning money from a charity to Weinstein is cutting off your nose to spite your face. The Clinton Foundation can do much more good with it than he will, that's for sure

The people politicizing this think the Clinton Foundation is an extensions of the Clinton's personal wealth so ...

Trump's new Senate friends: Lindsey Graham and Rand Paul

Seems like golf brings GOP members together no matter their past differences.

Graham said of his game with Trump earlier this week to CNN affiliate WCFV, "We focused on golf for the most part. We talked about North Korea and Iran. Tax cuts, repealing and replacing Obamacare. It was a good conversation and a chance to be with the President. Just the two of us."

Can we just let trump ignore these things. We're gonna go to war and the US is going to be attacked because of these faux macho idiots who think they can dictate the world.

Kindly go fuck yourself. You're really going to take this particular event, and tell a woman to "sit down and shut the fuck up" because "Every time she speaks or appears, she stirs the pot". Is the sad irony of your words totally lost on you? Spoiler alert, she can do whatever the hell she wants, she can stir the pot however much she wants, and she can stand and be heard as much as she wants - no matter how mad that makes you.

She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't - before she said anything, there was wailing and pulsating about how she was being silent and cowardly. Now she's speaking, and you're going to yell down at her from your ivory tower that she needs to shut up.

It's the same as just after the election - she was endlessly criticized for staying quiet and going on walks in the woods, and then as soon as she speaks up, she's assaulted for having the nerve to open her mouth and let sounds come out.

It would be strange for Rand Paul to be onboard with war though, I thought he was isolationist, and against the unilateral-ish authority of the presidency regarding combat?

"Men like Harvey Weinstein are empowered to assault and harass women for decades with impunity because women are forced by their peers and environments to stay silent about it or else"

"Hillary Clinton should just shut up and not talk about Harvey Weinstein"
