Xtina changes her image after every album. Obviously Chubbytina wasn't going to stay around any longer than Strippedtina, or Debutina. Baby Jane is back so maybe we're getting another R&B-esque album soon.

Christina has too many other avenues to explore before reverting back to an era that was as effective as it was only because of where she (and the industry) was at that point. That era/sound should be left alone.
If she truly is the contemporary queen of reinvention (which she is) then she needs to commit to a new lane next time. Bionic and Lotus were fair-enough reinventions (of sound at least) but the content itself wasn't very strong.
I could write a wall's worth on where I want her to go next career-wise but I'll just say that, for her, releasing a quality first single is really critical. She's not effective enough as an album artist to rely solely on the entire package, so she needs a powerful single to get those gears grinding again.
