Predict the price of the Wii U (what are you willing to pay?)

299 is what it will be.

No way Nintendo jumps over 300 bucks.

By the time it comes out, 3DS will be 199 and Wii will be 129.

Probably $299. If PS3 gets down to $199 by the time it launches, then $249.

I think 3DS has been a hard lesson in pricepoint for Nintendo, and I can't see them making the same mistake again. Wii U won't be over $300.

Won't pay over $299 and that's pushing it. Probably will wait till it's 200 or under, depending on when NSMB Mii comes out.
I predict $350 or so.

For people with 299. You guys are crazy.

Did you forget that wii was 249, with just a 39 dollar controller?

You guys are dreaming if you think it will be 299.

You sound like someone talking about the PSVita. We'll see though.

Nintendo is going to rub one off in your eye and you are going to thank them for it.

spoiler: They will not take a hit.
And that is totally fine, I am just not willing to pay more than $299 and I do not really expect them to go above $349.

If I recall, it was supposed to be 200 here, but retailers pressured in the Wii Sports pack-in.

This isn't some amazingly beefy new console, it's a 360-era piece of kit with some glitter. Much like the Wii was to the PS2/GC/Xbox era.

I'm going to go with 299 as well, I don't really care if I'm wrong I just don't see Nintendo breaking that barrier.

Anything over $299 I find ridiculous for a half-generation console. This thing is reminding me of the Dreamcast in more ways than one.

I'd go as high as $399 if the online is robust, the graphics meet or exceed the Zelda Demo in larger & populated environments, and it comes with a pack-in game. That's really pushing it though, considering it doesn't come with a hard drive & is currently limited to one tablet controller.

I think it'll launch at $349 or $299. The latter is more likely if there is a 3DS price drop.. and if Vita's price is any indicator, I'd say there's a decent chance we'll see it at $299. Remember, the 360 launched at $399 (20GB HDD) & $299 (No HDD).

Who are you guys kidding. You know you'll buy it at FIFE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOALLARS!!

$599.00

I'm guessing $299.

The console is fairly small, and the controller light. While that shouldn't be an indication of price, I feel like it could be.

Right now, I'd pay $200 for it. But no games were shown, so yeah. Ask me again when some 1st party stuff (or Tales games lol) appears.

It'll be expensive, probably over $300. Well over it, especially if Nintendo wouldn't reveal the price. By the time it releases we'll have $200 PS3s and $200 non-gimped 360s.

I think it'll go for $350-450 if they're being honest about creating a core console. Nintendo isn't going to lose a profit.

They may just not be able to lock down the price yet. They're still a good ways away from launch so they may just not even have a firm price yet or they may be saving it for a WOW price closer to launch if it's especially low. I think $299 would wow most people. Obviously, $249 definitely would.

My guess: $299.99
Roommates guess: $399.99

Think about it, the Wii U will release at the end of 2012 and it is (reportedly) only marginally more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. At the next E3 I predict Sony and Microsoft will show off their new consoles with a Fall 2013 release and announce a price drop on all current hardware. If the Wii U launches at $400 then it would go against a $200-250 Xbox and PS3. Summary: Market suicide.

Not really - reports seem to say otherwise.

There are really too many unknowns to guess at this point. But $299 after what I've seen today. Show me a solid online infrastructure and that could go up.

$300 - bundled with 1x tablet, 1x remote, 1x nunchuck, 1x sensor bar. Software pack-in will be more analogous to Wii Play than Wii Sports.

$299 is unrealistic considering that this console looks to be quite powerful, and the 3DS is $250

It's more powerful than the PS360, sure, but it not like the difference is all that significant, and those systems are now selling for around $200

I doubt the components will be so high in cost as to require a price tag over $300, not to mention going too high will be detrimental to getting the average wii owner to upgrade
