They do have TLG, and I'm sure it's so beautiful half of GAF will be in tears, but I don't think it's anything close to a bigger thing than Beast Souls.

Last year was amazing. Literally every single 3rd party game that people talked about started this narrative that it was an exclusive just because.

Even if they have a slow year it's not the end of the world. I know the games are coming. That's all that matters
 
either way both sony & microsoft plus nintendo are going to have a great show we're just lucky gamers in general they're 'beasting' to win us over and it can't get better then this unless next year tops this one.
 
Third parties at conferences is so boring. I doubt it even benefits the first party. Especially in MS's case. "Hey look, Fallout 4 looks great, can't wait to see how much better it looks on PS4".

They should both go exclusives only, but it'd never happen.

Third parties want that stage time. First parties want that brand association with their platform. Sometimes it works (CoD), sometimes it doesn't (Metal Gear).

3rd parties can still bring the hype , for eg a new KH trailer would be awesome .
Still as you said it would help Sony more than MS .
While these things for the hardcore and Soul is as big as you get for them there also a lot fans of other stuff .

Kojima choose a very bad time to try that with MGS .
 
Sony is selling a lot more Ps4's, than MS is selling Xbones. If you are publisher, would you rather align yourself with the company that's not doing as well as the competition? For multiplats, ps4 will be most publishers and devs first choice to make a game for/on. Or to show a multiplat game on, since the platform is capable of delivering better graphics.

I'm going way too far offtopic here, and I dont mean any harm. Back ontopic.

I think the structure of Dark souls will be back in this. I'm a huge fan of DS because of that, I really like it. I hope miyazaki feels the same way. His Twitter is fun, he once tweeted " I couldnt make a bad game if I tried ".

When was the last time EA showed up at a Sony conference? They didn't attend any of the half dozen or so Sony conferences/ presentations last year. Kinda weird in a launch year if you ask me, I wonder if there was more to it.
 
Presumably, we will see a higher fidelity version of the trailer now. Is there any indication whether there will be some form of controlled vertical slice of gameplay shown as well?

guess which platform people are going to buy to play kh3 on?


multiplats somehow get associated with a platform, and pubs like activision recognise that. that's why they show off cod on xbone and destiny on ps4.

The PS3 partnership didn't really pay of for them. Don't blame them for going to MS.

E3 is the biggest event of the year, and you gets eyes from the industry, the wider MSM, and more causal gamers. Look at the good it did Ubi and watchdogs.

Pulling off a crowd pleaser a E3 will sell you some games.

I wished PS4 wasn't the more popular console, I really dislike multiplats on a manufacturer's E3 stage and Sony conference is so late here in Europe that I would curse myself if I stayed up late to watch non-exclusives

KH3 isn't a good example. jrpgs always sell more on ps3 than 360 and people would have bought KH3 on PS4 regardless of the conference in which it would have been shown
 
I'm remembering so much about last year now, that rumor that MS had moneyhatted every single publisher to make sure all games demoed on XBO. Amazing.

If Sony doesn't show any standard game with whimsy at E3 I too will have a broken heart. I want to be able to play Beasts and then relax with a game like Ape Escape or Everybody's Golf.

Annually third party stuff could be boring, but games like KH3 is something many of us dying to see more.
