Opinions should be voiced in a civilized manner, i agree. Vicious ranting is never useful, or fun for that matter.
I do disagree with one thing though - opinions are neither right or wrong, nor should they be held to that. They just reflect an subjective view on a certain matter.

I downloaded FireFox just to watch all those. I feel like E3 will be fantastic this year (Beast, Zelda U reveal, Last Guardian).
....okay maybe not that last one.

Exactly. Keyword is "have" here. We'll see as we progress if they are able and/or want to continue making new IPs like Frame Gride, Kuon, Metal Wolf Chaos etc.

But is all the 22 pages of hype just because it is From Software and the promise of more Dark Soulish gameplay, or is there something I am missing?
 
looks great!

played a bit of demons souls, never really dug into Dark Souls, but am really looking forward to finally diving into the gameplay everyone raves about.

I still think this could be a 2014 title, if Guerilla is releasing their RPG in 2015, i think it would be good to have this in 14' then the Order in Feb 15' then Uncharted late summer 15' and end on Guerillas new IP in the fall maybe with GT6/7 Prologue

That's where we will disagree then. I've seen plenty of people with opinions that are factually wrong. Either ways this is where my contribution stops for today heading to sleep. With sweet beast dreams

it is funny that numerous insiders have been hinting at it's existence since last year, tho. Even Sony employees... LOL I mean Sony's had their shit on lock for yonks, and then suddenly one of their biggest game reveals slips though the cracks? Er, yeah. I just don't buy it.

People are still hyped for Halo 5, MGSV, etc. To me it is ridiculous but you can't argue with majority rule.

Darks Souls gameplay + Demon's Souls ambiance + shotgun + next gen = HYPE :p
 
I tried to not get too hyped because of the image leak, it could have been fakes.

Not just from From Software, but part developed by SCEJ, and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. Many people consider the original Demon's Soul's to be one of the best games ever made, a few even the best game ever made, hence the hype.

The game is presumably directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director for both DeS and DkS1. Both of the those games are superb, so people are looking forward to the director's next effort (this title).

You just listed three well established franchises with extensive fanbases. Obviously people are going to be excited about what they enjoy.

You're not missing anything. That's pretty much the reason. Or, well, the Souls-style of storytelling as well, I suppose? And I guess the level design they're known for. And the atmosphere.

I guess a lot of people just like the Souls games.

It looks like the demon child of Dark Souls, Berserk, Resident Evil 4 and the first Devil May Cry.

Aka the game of the forever and ever.
 
Haha. I'm genuinely surprised to see that 4 seconds of basically nothing, some graphics and a moving guy, gets GAF excited. I mean, ridiculously excited. It's just seems too... simple.

I think it has a bit too much brown, it always seems to be fall and night. And oh my, a graveyard.. Nonetheless, it seems to move very fluently. Can't wait to see more of the game at E3.

The promise of more Souls with next-gen (or current-gen) graphics is the hypestest thing I can think of since the release of Demon's Souls. Souls games are the greatest thing that run in the previous gen, so the hype is justified :P

But the setting might suggest no armour. Is it really a souls game without that clanking of your armour as you are running along?

Looks great though. Just wonder how much of the souls hype will be diluted by having had DS2 only just released (even more so if that gets a next gen version).

It's a few things.
Likely an exclusive, for the more liked next gen platform, it looks impressive, offers new mechanics and is likely Miyazaki's new project, after some people felt DS2 was missing that 'special something'.

All true. I would add that any souls fan jaded by DS II is excited about Miyazaki's supposed deep involvement as well.
