I dont have anyway of testing this im afraid. Just sounds odd that it would be hard coded into a system to change a games controls.

I know. On my japanese PS3 it sometimes makes for confusing moments when they tell me to push X where I'm supposed to push O ahah.

I hope the Vita behaves more like the PSP, as in depending on the game and not the console.

I'd imagine that it has to do with licensing. Avex Trax (one of the biggest music labels in Japan) put together Bust A Move's soundtrack. Licensing is the biggest hurdle with old games on download networks. Especially once we got to a point where licensing became common. They didn't do the soundtrack for BaM2, which is why it's no surprise that the soundtrack for that isn't as good. Although Hiro's theme in that is fantastic

The BaM/BaG games are still my favorite music games.

Well that's shitty, I thought it was in-house. I like BaM1 more than BaM2 but here's my favorite song of them all.

I keep forgetting Playstation All Stars is coming out for the vita.
That's gonna be a ton of fun especially if the netcode is as good as they say in the PSA thread. Should make cross platform play extremely fun.

Yep that's the platform I plan to buy it and mainly play on. Will make the perfect machine to practice and move through the story mode and then I can jump on the console version when friends gather for some PSASBR fun.

so.. i'll sell my vita..
can't see myself playing in the next few months, no time and i need money cause my macbook crashed : /

PS Vita + 8 GB Memory Card, Poweradapter, package, Promo headphones, VR Cards
Metal Gear Solid HD
Gravity Rush
Rayman Origins
Touch My Katamari

if anyone from germany / europe is interested, just pm me..

i'm asking for 285€.. i guess thats a fair price since the system is like new and i paid a lot more ;__;

Might have better chance of selling in the buy and sell thread, than here where most own one already. I don't have a link, however. Best of luck.

Was wanting to pickup Foosball today but it didn't release in the Australia & New Zealand stores. Maybe there was some extra transation required for the 'down-under' version of the english language?!

Unit 13 is now challenging Hot Shots Golf as my favourite Vita game so far. Definitely top 3 along with Virtua Tennis as well. It's great fun and the score chase element works well. Have only cleared 3 High Value Targets so far so still a lot of game left to finish. I hope Sony gives the IP to another developer for a sequel, cause there obviously won't be anymore from Zipper.

I've been playing 3rd Birthday a lot last night and today. Is this like an underappreciated gem or what? It's so so good.

It would be great if Sony made some kind of program where as you buy the PS3 copy of the game you get the Vita version half off

I picked up Monster Hunter Freedom Unite last night, but I can't figure out how to assign the right analog stick? anyone know how to do this?

I also picked up Gravity Rush a few days ago and have played about two hours of it - so far I'm really enjoying it. The way the game is presented in comic-like panels is fantastic and it smartly integrates the touch screen.

Press and hold the screen for a few seconds. A menu will appear and the rest is easy from there.

I hope COD is native res and has all the perks and care packages. Can you imagine COD without those things. Took a dive and preordered every Vita game coming out in October except for Smart As, Sly and of course Spy Hunter.

Touch the screen for a few seconds. A new window should popup with right stick and set it to d-pad

It's been hinted at by superbot but I think it is going to be a retailer deal for the first week only. Like how MLB the Show was done. Would be awesome if they did a limited edition that is $80 and had costumes and a digital copy of the vita version. Though superbot said there won't be a collector's edition or one wasn't planned. But a limited/collector's edition at least ensures buyers can get both copies for one discounted price from anywhere and possibly even after the first week.

Yeah, I also wish that when you bought an HD remake for something like the God of War collection or Shadow/ICO - you'd get a "digital copy" for the Vita at a discounted rate (or could chose to purchase it at the higher cost of $60 vs. the standard $40 HD remake price point)

But will it work on 3G ?

It's really stupid you cannot play Vita games multiplayer using built in connection when outside of home.

Quick question.
Are "White Knight Chronicals Origins" or "Valhalla Knights 2 Battle Stance" any good. Been watching vids and I just cant tell.
I know this question was a page back or so now, but I want to answer it.
I can't speak for VK2 because I've never played it, but as far as White Knight Chronicles goes I'd advise you to stay away from it. It's a poorly designed mess.
dwT4E.jpg

They used this as a promo shot. I think it was even on the back of the box when I bought it. It speaks volumes, and I should have listened to it. The game has poor graphics. The HUD needs work, as you often end up with stuff all over the screen like this
The characters aren't great, the mechanics are slow, and the load times are irritating.
The last one is the real killer, because when you go on a mission, the areas you go to actually consist of many very small areas linked together by yet more loading and arranged like these
so you'll be doing more loading than exploring. Especially as to get top ranking on some of the missions you have to run past all the mobs in an area getting wailed on the whole way to get into the next zone so you can complete exploring before you kill x of y, or something.

I nicked those screenshots from youtube plays because I don't want to put my PSP through that torment again :p
I admit that I never finished the game because the loading times and poor graphics bothered me so much, but I can't imagine it got much better. I have to think your money would be better spent on just about anything else ;)

thanks for this. I have watched the youtube vids and I just cant tell it its fun or not lol. Sounds a bit frustrating. I wonder if the load times and frame rates are any better on the vita???

I shudder to think what 3g online gaming would look like. It's not only slower but very sporadic in its speeds, since typically you are moving and and every area will have a different signal strength.

I could see it working for games that have players taking turns. Like chess, a turn based rts, etc.

Same case as VC2 - good game on it's own completly hated because it doesn't meet GAF expectations of series.

(Altrough VC2>3rdB)

Got to warn people VC2's main and side stories are terrible. I enjoy it a lot for its SRPG gameplay. Fortunately, the game remains intact even after I skipped all the dialogs. 8^P I'm playing it every night now. Is VC3 story better ?

I heard good things about the Parasite Eve series; sat down in front of YouTube and went through some videos. The first 2 seem too old for me (I have never played a PSOne before, so have zero attachment to it). I do have some interest in 3rd Birthday.

What do you hate and like about 3rd bday ?

Apparently it's being developed by Nihilistic Software.

You know, the devs behind Resistance:BS. >_>

that was just a rumor iirc.

I really doubt Activision is this crazy, also Acti own tons of Studio that do nothing but COD related crap like Raven who can work on the game for cheaper than some other random outsiders.

Huh? I thought Activision Leeds was handling it...

Activision Leeds denied that, they are working on Pitfall reboot.

Ys Seven's music is fraking amazing. The boss fight track is especially awesome.

I just finished the second major boss. Does anyone think it's too late to drag up the old OT, or should I start an LTTP thread. I'm loving this game so much right now.

LTTP Thread, and Ys Seven had the best soundtrack I heard in ages.

also 3rd birthday had really solid gameplay

Not even a little.
Why would Sony even think of such a thing. Resistance was ok but I wouldnt trust the future of Vita on a Nihilistic developed COD. Many will still purchase the game because of name alone but I found Resistance BS Multiplayer extremely boring. Not to mention the maps were TRASH. I really hope this is only a rumor. Damn Sony.

I'm thinking of getting the PSP versions of Metal Slug. I haven't played it since I had a Saturn and a RAM cart. I'm seeing multiple versions on the PSN store. Any opinions on which has the best emulation?
I'm late, but the PSN version of Metal Slug Anthology for PSP is definitely one of the better ways to play Metal Slug. All other MS ports and collections (and even other versions of Anthology including the UMD incarnation) have had a range of annoying imperfections. The PSN version helps tremendously with loading issues. It's still not perfect, but you could do much worse. I'd recommend it if you want to play MS on the go.

It's horrible. It bears one of the worst stories to ever grace the medium, and its combat design is suspect at best. Encounters are repetitive and drawn out. It does have a few redeeming qualities, but people who actually played it here don't talk about it for a reason. :(

I just received the 32GB memory card I bought on sale, yay. I've been using an 8GB memory card, which has been sufficient so far, since I don't buy alot from PSN. But once PS1 support gets added, I'll definitely need the extra space.

So to transfer content from one memory card to another, I can backup to PC, swap memory cards, and then restore from PC, correct? Or can I just save the PSP and PSV applications? Those are tied to the system and not the memory card, right? There's about 1GB of music and video (heh heh) that I don't really care about transferring, so I'm hoping to cut that corner.

If what I heard is true, and it's a big IF, as the info keeps changing... but this person told me virtually everything. They said there are a few games held up with licensing problems but just about the whole library will be there on day one.

Now, he didn't say what games wouldn't be. So it might be all of your favorite games. Or it might be random shit with weird music licenses(or companies that went out of business since initially posting the game on the PSN).

I can't say I know this as a fact, as I was also told that the June Vita Games Heaven was gonna be massive and now I'm a toolbag. But this person has given me legit info in the past including PSO-2 weeks before it was announced, Motorstorm RC being free weeks before it was announced... and other stuff.

Sounds good. I will put some faith into your kind words. At least I feel a bit better about Sony taking some time on something functional, as PS1 was a big selling point of Vita. Well, to me it was.

Aside, does P4: The Golden have a US release date yet? GameStop has it pegged for 10/23...

It would be cool if the Vita could end up being like the portable equivalent of Steam. I think most indie developers don't mind doing a game for both PS3 and Vita, but I still don't know how good of an idea it is to focus solely on the PS3/Vita buy one get both method.

Was browsing play.com and saw a listing for a WRC: FIA World Rally Championship 3 Vita version. I didn't know that was coming over. I'd LOVE a portable rally game with decent controls.

hope it turn to be good.
