PS4 and Xbox One France hardware sales.

Kinda surprising.I expected worse for XB1 in France.I guess the PS4 being sold out everywhere has really helped MS.

^^^This

From how some people were making it sound, I was not expecting Xbone to sell this well over there. I was waiting to see like, maybe 50 Xbones sold, not 50k.

I still believe the Dec NPD numbers will show Xbone jumping ahead of PS4 in the US, by a fair amount too. MS just bombarded its shores with too many Xbones for Sony to keep up, while Sony is trina share its wealth with the world.

It'll still push systems for Xbox One, just like Ghosts and Battlefield 4 is pushing systems. It's better experiences on Xbox One compared to 360, and its being advertised as a Xbox One game, people will buy a system for it.

Titanfall is just a little boat to get people onboard before Halo comes along and is the big yacht Xbox One needs for 2014. From all the 2014 games confirmed so far, Halo has the most mainstream appeal and will have the most pull. Nothing Sony can put out will match Halo's power. :P

Not sure if this is true though, sales-wise. A lot of disappointed players with Halo 4.

I'd actually look at Destiny to usurp some of that audience. Much like Titanfall could do with CoD.

halo 4 was ass and wouldn't be surprised if 5 is too. thwy got a lot of fixing to do for that series.

Well, pack it up X-Bone. Being the 2nd most successful launch in console history after having the worst pre-launch PR in the history of consumer electronics just ain't good enough.

Not that any of this really matters as long as both are profitable but looking at all these numbers it is clear that most territories don't amount to shit when compared to North America. So Microsoft focusing on North America seems smarter than caring if 1000 japenese people buy the console.

Tim Dog would be proud.

Who cares? They've always had bad taste.

lol. Choosing the superior console is having bad taste now? If you're living outside the US there's pretty much no reason to buy an xbox one apart from the exclusives since xbox live gold is more expensive while offering you maybe 1/10th of the content. The PS4 is a way better choice. Cheaper, more powerful, and you have access to most of the services on there.

I don't think so, and according to last month's sales X1 would have won handily if it came put earlier. When this generation is over, the console with the better games, better framerate, and more features will win.

50k at launch for first three weeks?

next year that will be the sales for 5 days in NA every week, so no biggie

"Interesting" mentions of North America, despite the thread not being about NA at all, and France and the US+Canada are almost on the opposite sides of the globe. Of course we know why it was mentioned..

It does matter, EU is the second biggest market, and this just means Microsoft will never be the market leader without a strong presence in European countries such as France.

Another "interesting" argument. PS4 sold more in 24 hours in NA than Xbox One did in entire November.

Didn't the ps4 sold a million in 24-48 hours? That's more than x1's full week on the US, it's more of a supply issue.

Saying the PS4 is a superior buy overall is subjective to whats being talked about, its all a matter of opinion once you get past the hardware aspect of the consoles. I can say the Xbone is superior in entertainment value, I can say the Xbone has superior software due to better launch titles.

Im not arguing with you, I'm simply saying that that word "superior" is used way too loosely around here simply because of tech specs.

It's up to the user to decide what is overall superior, to use the word as a general statement as in "overall" needs to stop. There are advantages the Xbone has over the PS4, and vice versa.

.

After hearing 1 million in 24hrs these Euro numbers just seem trivial. Surprise it wasn't a wake up call to Sony as they still continue to concentrate on other markets but the US.

Pretty awesome to see. I'm really hoping PS4 ends up being a PS2-like success. I want consoles to be around forever.

Like I said. France has bad taste. They eat fucking snails. Plus that country does not have the same impact as the US, but you Sony cronies will keep grasping at any info that says you'll win to make you sleep at night.
Sony cronies? You think this is N4G or something? :lol

It came one week earlier in France and got beaten really badly....

That won't be the xbox one for sure.

What I was saying is that outside of the US the list of advantages the xbox one has dwindle considerably.

err... You sound pretty fucking ignorant.

Meltdown?

I'm an American, but snails are pretty fucking delicious when done right -- a lot of restaurants here in the states serve them. And even if you just look at the US numbers, it's clear that Sony has the lead and it will only grow as they deliver more units because the PS4 has been selling out much more rapidly than Xbox One anytime a vendor gets shipments in.

Looking at FuriousBearMan's post history, it's obvious he was fake trolling, just like me when I said Australia is the only country that matters. Too bad he didn't make that clear and got banned for it.

Why would cable/sat providers do that?

Micheal Pachter mentioned it on GT when he talked with MS they said it was something they are looking into in the future.

Also, something similar maybe happening at launch for China. "An article in Sohu IT, one of China's biggest technology sites, quotes Luo Jiangchun, CEO of online video service Funshion, saying that Xbox One will be available late next year. Funshion is a streaming TV service, owned by BesTV, which recently announced a joint partnership with Microsoft in the Shanghai Free Economic Zone." http://www.polygon.com/2013/12/16/5216828/report-suggests-china-xbox-one-launch-in-2014

BesTV has already grown into the world's largest IPTV operator with more than 16 million effective IPTV users.

Disagree, he sounds pro Xbox and like he finally snapped.

Back to the topic at hand, a rough google translate gives us some info:

Europe PS4 vote

These estimates confirm commercial ascendancy of the PS4 in Europe. She would have sold more than 80,000 units against 25,000 Xbox One in Spain, and more than 185,000 consoles in the UK , against 140,000 Xbox One. According to our estimates , more than half a million PlayStation 4 have already been sold in Western Europe , for a little less than 300,000 Xbox One. The game of battle numbers, Sony announced that it has sold 2.1 million consoles across 32 countries , while Microsoft claims a similar figure , but only 13 countries . Recall , however, that the two machines are out of stock, their performance is heavily conditioned by the capacity of their respective manufacturers.

Wii U will remain for now the next generation console 's best-selling throughout the French territory to this day, thanks to the light observed marketing rebound Super Mario 3D World . Nintendo France claimed an installed base of 160,000 consoles this summer. The stock problems Sony could even allow the console to take a small lead at Christmas. While the medium term, logic would dictate that the PlayStation 4 is rapidly catching the installed base of the Nintendo console , once , of course, the manufacturer may supply the market to meet demand .

Maybe but we'll all be too busy fighting over which is the best new new console.

Anglo American? Most Brits just subscribe to most Americanisms. We now have black Friday. The majority of console owners in the UK shifted from PlayStation 2 to Xbox 360 and back to PlayStation. I'd like to think it's because we favour the better product. Otherwise the PlayStation 3 wouldn't have made such a big come back mid lifespan from the first slum model upwards.

Yep that's exactly what I did. 2011 is when my 360 stopped getting used.

I don't think MS is as big of a threat as Netflix, HBO (if they start offering their content outside of cable), and other content providers. With Microsoft, the cable companies can reach deals that will ensure that Microsoft isn't stepping in on their core business and that you're using the console to access their content.

More consoles and more software gets sold in Europe. It's time for America to stop thinking it's so important.
