Ubisoft has sent an email telling players that in order to curb issues caused by Early Access, they will have to delete their save files:

Hello To best experience the Outer Rim, we rolled out a maintenance to make sure everyone is playing the latest version of the game. As one of the players affected who had access to an older version of the game, we are aware you might be encountering some issues after this recent patch. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
To solve the issue, please make sure you are playing Version 1.000.002. Here's how to check your version:

1. From the game tile, select "Options".
2. Go to "Information".
3. On the Version line, locate the version number.

Once you've confirmed you have the latest version, please start a new save to fully enjoy Star Wars Outlaws as our team intended. If you continue on a prior save you will unfortunately face issues and progression blockers.

Glad I'm not playing til it's $5 and fully patched

Let me guess, this is some ultra expensive version of the game for the privilege of playing with all the bugs before anyone else?

Yeah, today is the beginning of the early access period. The game officially comes out on Friday.
That's unfortunate for those who have already dropped a large portion of time in it, and probably start occurring frequently as the practice increases.
At least Ashes of Creation is upfront about paying for the privilege to test

pay more for early access, has to delete save cause early access bug, i couldn't care less, so good to see dumb ppl getting fucked.

remember kids FOMO is a bad thing.

As a consumer, if you're going to pay the idiot tax on an early release game or a pre-order, you have to at least make sure it's a game coming from a studio with a track record for quality releases. In other words, not Ubisoft.

Bugs happen but anyone that paid for Early Access should have that part refunded. It was literally voided.

Interesting range of reactions on reddit, including:

- This sucks.
- The intro was fun! I'll have FUN playing it AGAIN!!!
- It's actually great that they caught such a big issue in 24 hours! Thanks Ubisoft!

Star War games are cursed. Jedi Survivor 1 is the only decent one to have been released in over a decade.

Oh, wow, Ubisoft. Bravo, bravo! Also, I am glad it happened to just reiterate to people who pre-order this shit to quit that.
