Ok so I know most of you have probably seen the new Prometheus CFW for fully hackable PSP's (1000's and slims with a mobo TA-088v2 and lower) was released... This CFW does not have my approval and I will give my 4 main reasons:
1. ModNation Racers: Issues with still remains without patching and using this CFW.. If you recall there were those who patched the game for that god awful dead m33 firmware and there were serious issues that arose with that patching ( fuck you Revenge Team you suck ).. Well this CFW is based off those prx files so yea it sux
2. Prince Of Persia The Forgotten Sands: Now this one's funny Yea it runs the game unpatched BUT half way through the game your PSP freezes and reboots.. after that you have freezing issues all over the place
3. KHBBS: Now don't get me wrong the game runs but the U.S release is just around the corner and my regular patching methods will make it run beautifully
4. Older Games Saves: Now this one is what really pissed me off.. I backed up my saves BUT after installing this CFW they were corrupted, so like on GEN-D3 I erased my save games and re put them back on my PSP and even though this worked for GEN-D3 this DID NOT work for this CFW.. so I redowngraded back to GEN-D3 and tried to put the saves back on and once again a no go... Seems there was a bit of detail they left out on this CFW.. It integrates a little prx file in Flash0 that is a bitch to remove and I really don't recommend ANYONE ( unless you REALLY know what you're doing ) play around with your Flash0 as you can make your PSP a permanent brick ( and NO Hellcats will not save you from this one ).
now I know the question will arrise " How did you get half way through Forgotten Sands when the CFW was just released 2 days ago ? " well what ya don't know is I have had this CFW for 2 weeks now Why didn't I say anything? Well the last time I said something about helping test a new CFW my PM box filled up 2 days straight asking if I was gonna release it on here and what was going on with it... I have what is called respect for the fellow devs and would never release something they have put hard work into before them
As for people on GEN-C I do recommend you use the Prometheus 5.03 that was released 1 day before the 5.50 one.. Reason being this will actually improve GEN-C compatability wise on homebrew and newer patched releases
So there you have it.. 5.50 Prometheus = Fail... 5.03 Prometheus = Good .. Please remember if you decide to upgrade to 5.50 Prometheus DO NOT pm me when you have a problem or you lose your save game as I warned you

hikarutilmitt said:No. I know I'm going to sound like a jerk saying this, but it's been asked multiple times in this very thread and the answer is always no.
graywolf323 said:saw this elsewhere but apparently KloWn came out and advised people not upgrade to Prometheus
personally I'm gonna take his advice
Firehead said:The new PSP update removes the Patapon 2 exploit; don't update if you enjoy your homebrew on your PSP Go.
suikodan said:Speaking of homebrew on PSPGo, how does it work? You use the Patapon 2 demo then what?
I'm ecstatic, it works just like I need. Thu is the firmware with the feature list that convinced me to jump from dark alex's firmware, not the other stuff they put out.graywolf323 said:saw this elsewhere but apparently KloWn came out and advised people not upgrade to Prometheus

why would you be happy about going to OFW?black_vegeta said:Alright, so I successfully went from CFW>OFW. Back to dah official. :-D

Went perfectly smoothly for me using xgen updater. went from 5.00m33-6 >> GEN 5.50 C >> prometheusGravijah said:I know this question gets asked a million times, but I like to be sure of things...
Is it safe to upgrade to Gen if I'm running a version of M33 firmware, but not the very latest? I'm not really afraid of bricking my PSP as I have two and I can make a pandora battery but still... would like to be pointed in the right direction of doing this shit. :lol
An exploit has already been found (not released) for 6.30.InfiniteNine said:Had to go to OFW if I wanted to use the Project Diva DLC for the PS3. x: Hopefully there will come a way for me to use homebrew again on my PSP3000.
