So...these Lumines screenshots finally pushed me to try this out. :lol

I installed HEN on my PSPgo (6.31). Managed to get Prometheus Iso Loader to load, and...nice, both of the ISOs are there. I press circle and...nothing. It tries to load the game and some sort of "config.txt" line blinks for a second, but it throws me back to the Loader menu.

Any idea what I could be missing?

I understand completely. Was really hard for me to pull the trigger, esp. since my PSP 1000 is still working great, but went ahead and did it since I'll be using it as a stopgap until I can pick up an ipod touch that has a camera equal to that of the phone.

It being much more pocket friendly compared to the 1000 and also the audio and video (half of the 16 gigs will be Starcraft 2 videos, haha) made me bite the bullet. I have so many PSP UMDs that I've been wanting to have a back-up system anyway.

Unfortunately, the Hardees around the KC area are not franchises so they didn't receive the coupon booklets. Believe me, I've been wanting to pull off a $100 PSP Go. I put the 6.31 HEN exploit on my Go last night. Didn't have a problem; took Outrun 2006 (FUCK YEAH IT WORKS!) and some Japanese games off my CFW 2000 and they all ran without any issue.

The only thing I noticed was that the load times on a few games seemed a bit longer than they were on the 2000. Almost as if they were loading at UMD speed.

BTW, didn't someone say you can still change the clock speed to 333mhz? How do you do this?

This isn't possible? I just assumed the Go could since the PSP-1000 through 3000 were able to play pretty much any PSOne game.

Yeah, definitely not working for me. Is there a special trick to ISO rips needed? I just did the old CFW method of setting the USB mode to the UMD, so you could drag it right to the desktop. Works fine on the PSP1000 but maybe there is a compatibility problem that way on this particular HEN?

Atm only PS1 games bought from PSN store will work on Go. I would imagine soon PS1 games will be opened up since PSP games now are.

Ok so this is my first time trying to run CFW really. I was able to get HEN for 6.35 working (I think). I did the Minna savegame exploit. All I want is to screen capture while running a game. I was only able to find one HB app and it doesn't work. Once it boots me back to the XMB after doing the savegame exploit, do I need install CFW as well? I have no idea what to do and the OP hasn't been updated in forever and the pspslim hack website doesn't have any new information on what I want to do. Finding information about this stuff is confusing as hell if you weren't doing it from day 1 apparently.

Can anyone help??

you can't do that on 6.31 yet. with 6.20 when you hit select there is a menu with various options (including clock speed settings) but they haven't got that in 6.31. we'll see if they can add it in, i'd presume so.

I stared at a Go today and just couldn't do it. I was playing around with the demo unit and just didn't like the positioning of the analog pad. It also felt too thin when open and it felt like if not in the kiosk, I'd have trouble getting a comfy grip. I think I need to hold one not attached to a stand.

HEN is a Homebrew ENabler. Once it boots you back to the XMB, go to System Information and check your version. If it reads "Version 6.35 PRO" then you're on it. Dunno how to take a screen capture with it tho.

After which, you load the Hombrew that's store in your memory stick at /PSP/GAME/

Erm, you'd use the exploit to boot back to the XMB using HEN, then load Promethus through the regular games menu.

I guess you could use the HBL or load Promethus directly from the exploit tho.

My version does indeed read as 6.35 PRO. I've only found 2 screen cap apps. One doesn't load and the other needs devhook installed. Isn't devhook for when you convert to an older firmware? The CFW scene may be alive, but the app scene sucks apparently. These apps are kind of old and not updated to run on newer versions.

Does anyone know if there is a screenshot app out there that will run during a game and by using the Minna exploit?

No. The PSP only has one analog stick, so there are no games that are coded for two.

I have hope that someone would make a plugin to support that. PS1 games on the PSP Go using the DS3 shows that it isn't a 1:1 button mapping.

Basically, with regular PSP games, it maps everything as you would expect and the only change is that both L and R buttons act as the PSP L and R buttons.

Because the PSP doesn't have two sets of shoulder buttons, for PS1 games it maps L2/R2 and the combination of both to the analog nub (or another variation depending on your choice). However, if you use a dual shock 3/sixaxis with it, it plays the same as it would on a playstation 1. L2 is L2, R2 is R2, and analog stick doubles as the d-pad.

If there is a plugin that lets you custom map controls on a ps3 controller, that would be great.

Maybe this is the part I don't have working right?

1. Launch Minna demo
2. Press circle on the second option (selected by default)
3. HEN kicks in and brings up Half Byte Loader automatically.

From here I can:

4a. Load Prometheus from the menu (it's the only thing visible), or...
Prometheus loads, but fails to load any ISO I select.

4b. Press Triangle to return to XMB.
If I do this...it's the regular XMB. Says "6.31" in the SYSTEM menu. Prometheus won't load.

Maybe I have the wrong loader file of some sort...

EDIT: Yep. Missed the HEN copy over HBL step. Bloody mess when you're on 6.31 and not 6.35...
EDIT 2: Of course, using the M33 driver neither game loads. There's just a black screen. Trying the 9660...
EDIT 3: 9660 driver worked for Lumines 2. Neat.

For anyone having trouble getting Prometheus to work on 6.20 Hen, I just ripped 8 UMDs to ISOs using my PSP 1000 with M33 CFW, and they all worked fine on the Go. The games included newish (KitN, Z.H.P., both Ys games) and older (Wild Arms XF) titles. So, it shouldn't matter how you're ripping the UMDs.

After spending far longer than I had intended, mostly due to forgetting to launch the demo before loading Prometheus, I finally got both Lumines and KH:BBS up and running on my Go.

My 2000 is now my dedicated UMD ripper, my 3000 still remains unhacked & my Go will now play my games.

I should really sell my 1000, it's kinda bricked at the moment, but it worked perfectly fine before I messed up on upgrading the CFW.

Do you have a color printer? I was able to get the $100 Target deal with a printed coupon, and I've found in general that stores are more likely to take printed coupons if they are in color.

I love screen protectors. I've applied them to my DS, DSL, DSi, PSP 1000, PSP 2000, and iPhone 4 without too many issues. The bathroom trick helps with the dust, and the credit card trick nicely deals with the air bubbles.

Not too sure about the M2 adapter, but since it cost me $0.01 + $1.49 shipping, I figured I'd get it. Should allow me to directly interface with my PC, if nothing else.

You can't. You can only do it through the Go, hence i'm not bothering with my voucher and sticking with HEN.
