would downgrading to 6.20 require different keys?
Seems like a quick delete/re-transfer from PS3 should fix it, right?
j-wood said:Is it possible that downgrading your firmware would mess up your screen?
Yesterday I downgraded to 6.20 from 6.35 so I could use HEN 6.2 C. Then while playing my backed up copy of BBS, I noticed this almost grey box taking up most of the screen.
It's like there is a box and inside the box it is a tad darker, and outside the box it's a bit lighter, with outside the box maybe being | | that much of the screen (from the edge of the psp screen to the inside, where the box starts.
I've never noticed this before. Anyway to fix it?
DiscoJer said:Do you have a 3000? This is unfortunately normal (or at least common). You might just never have noticed it before (it's most noticeable on the grey screen you use to quit a program)
Ninja Scooter said:been thinking of picking up a PSP-GO to suit my limited portable gaming needs, if I can find one on the cheap. HOmebrew has my eye as well, but just wondering how easy/manageable it is for someone like me w/o a lot of experience in this sort of stuff.
My main question is, with the Go, can you still buy/download games off PSN while still running homebrew? Or does cracking it pretty much mean no PSN?
Also I assume all this stuff is done via memory stick, but my only computer is a Mac, is that a problem?
Linkzg said:Not sure about connecting to PSN on the PSP Go itself because I transfer my PSN bought games through the PC software (mediago or something) or my PS3. Still, I don't believe it is a problem.
As for how easy it is, it's almost effortless. You plug in your PSP Go (you don't need a memory stick since it has built in 16 gig storage) and drag and drop the files you want. If you've used a flash drive before, it is about that difficult.
Someone else can confirm but I don't think it will be a problem for a mac. I think it is read as a universal drive when it's plugged in.
Ninja Scooter said:Sounds easy enough. But If I buy PSP/PSone classics off PSN and use my PS3 to transfer them to the Go, will that cause any problems? Will it make you upgrade and bork the firmware? I guess I'm just wondering if it has to be one or the other: Use your PSP for custom firmware/emulators or use it for legit PSN downloads.

I NEED SCISSORS said:If you can still run all games, i'd say no. That's a proper CFW too with 100% support for everything, whereas this HEN is just a temporary one with less support.
Shai-Tan said:Can 6.35 pro A2 go into sleep mode in PSN PS1 games? In the HEN I have it fails to resume from sleep (asks to quit the game) but I can just play them with the HEN off. I'm worried if I go from HEN to 6.35 CFW that I won't be able to play my PS1 games.

After installing the 6.35 PRO-A my PSP 3000 won't read UMDs anymore...
Code:The game could not be started. (800201148)
Everything was working fine on 6.35 PRO so I'd like to downgrade back to that, if possible...
rowanimox said:this is the first time i've owned a psp (any of them, i wasnt really into portable gaming then ;p). i got it from a friend. it is a psp go and when i checked the firmware, it said it is 6.35 pro. it already has prometheus but i was planning on following i need scissors guide (and every guide that was there). how do i downgrade the firmware to 6.20? is it the same procedure as the link he has provided? i understand that 6.20 is the best fw out there right now for emulation and stuff...
hikarutilmitt said:Try loading the UMD without HEN running. I had that issue when running 6.20 with HEN going, too.
D-Pad said:That was the first thing I tried. It doesn't matter is HEN is on or off, no UMDs will play. Is there a simple way to take HEN off? Is it as easy as deleting files off the PSP so that I may reinstall 6.35 PRO? If so, are there any files I shouldn't touch?
hikarutilmitt said:Yeah, just remove all of the HEN files form your memory stick.
Actually, try shutting down your PSP, removing the memory stick and starting it up cold without one. If the UMD still doesn't run...
I have read several reports about people having such issues with 6.35 PRO and all of its subsequent updates. I think the best thing you can do right now is:D-Pad said:This is happening. Powered off (holding for 3 seconds, etc), removed the duo stick, then powered back on. The system reads the game in the menu like before, but upon pressing 'X', the PSP logo appears (like normal), everything goes to black, and then after a while of nothing it'll kick me back to the main menu.
it's not, old Dark Alex CFW's blocked OFW upgradeshikarutilmitt said:That's... completely ridiculous. there's no reason you shouldn't have been able to just load up whatever OFW you needed and let it go. What sort of error did it give you when you tried?
You should be fine. Most of the new custom firmware stuff in the PSP scene is for PSPs that were previously unhackable AKA PSP-3000, Go, etc. Just don't bother with any of it and stay where you're at, trust me.Vincent Alexander said:I've been out of the loop for a long time. Just dusted off my PSP-1000 to see it is running 5.50 Gen-D (Full). How behind am I with custom firmwares and such? I'm ready to jump back in.

It's worth a try if you can't get it to work on your custom firmware. Doesnt help me though as I have a digital copy...can anyone help?
