All hardware models have been tested successfully.InsertNameHere said:I've been thinking about picking up a PSP and doing this for quite some time but haven't had the money lately.
Do I still have to worry about what PSP I get? If I order a PSP 3000 off of Amazon what firmware is it likely to have?

dock said:Thanks for the tips everyone, my PSP Go is now running with 6.20 and HEN.
However, a lot of my content is asking for 6.31 or higher. What options do I have?

Auron_Kale said:Huh? Just download the games onto my PS3 and then load onto my PSPGo like I always do.
No real science to it and I run 6.35-PRO B5 on my Go.
Run MediaGo on your PC and download the games through PSN that way.nolookjones said:well not really if your ps3 is running CFW too...
Fuuuuuuuuuuuu. I just downloaded the latest firmware today in anticipation of the store being reopened. Does the latest downgrader work for that too?ScrabbleDude said:Good news! A downgrader for 6.3X firmwares has just been released.
Yup. It was patched today to handle 6.39 as well.Javaman said:Fuuuuuuuuuuuu. I just downloaded the latest firmware today in anticipation of the store being reopened. Does the latest downgrader work for that too?
Just saw that on the site. Great news.ScrabbleDude said:Yup. It was patched today to handle 6.39 as well.
Since only my PSPGo is running CFW, I usually go with my PS3. But, as others have said before, just download Media Go on your PC and download the games that way.nolookjones said:well not really if your ps3 is running CFW too...
There is no definitive answer for this one. I go with TN-E 6.20 because it doesn't require me to overwrite flash0, which is dangerous to do on the Go.sonikokaruto said:what is the best cfw for the go right now? 6.35 or 6.20?
How dangerous? D:ScrabbleDude said:There is no definitive answer for this one. I go with TN-E 6.20 because it doesn't require me to overwrite flash0, which is dangerous to do on the Go.
There is an app that will allow you the option of booting official firmware, TN-E, or PRO-B5. A triple boot loader.dock said:How dangerous? D:
The hard part is replacing content I own legitimately that requires later firmware.
It's a shame there's no easy way to swap between old and new firmware. I'd love to be able to keep 6.39 as a 'dual boot'.

It shouldn't be. Saw it on psp-hacks.com.Baloonatic said:Oh my. I need this. Is it hard to find/use?
I don't think it's been required for a while. Hellcat Recovery became a signed app a long time ago and I think that's all you need.jayb said:oh so with this new downgrader, is the pandora battery no longer required on a PSP2000?
(i'm at work right now, so I can't check psp-hacks.com...blocked)

You'll need to go with PRO-B5 or TN-E on a 3000.ReXXXSoprano said:I just got a 3000 and I want to get it hooked up like my 2000 is. So what is the best firmware to go with?
Does it matter which one or will I be fine either way?ScrabbleDude said:You'll need to go with PRO-B5 or TN-E on a 3000.
You'll be fine either way. Opinion is split on which is better. PRO-B has a built in ISO loader. You'll need to use the aLoader plugin with TN.ReXXXSoprano said:Does it matter which one or will I be fine either way?
InsertNameHere said:So, just to be safe:
If I pick up a PSP-3000 (which I'll probably do after E3 to see if there's a price drop) what exactly would I need to downgrade it? The previously linked files and a pandora battery? And what's the best CFW that I could run on it?
InsertNameHere said:Ah, alright, wasn't sure on that.
What are the chances I'd end up bricking it? Little to nothing if I do everything right?

unless you do something wrong, wich is pretty unlikely unless you suck at life
