Can anyone advise me on my upgrade path? I'm on 3.40 OE-A and haven't done this in months!

Am I right in saying that I need to upgrade to 3.52 M33 then upgrade that to 3.80 M33? Do I need to upgrade the revisions too?
You need to get to 3.52m33-4 before moving onto 3.80

Figured this update would fix this, but I have an issue with remote play. I pop my ff7 disc into the PS3 and launch remote play.

I can navigate the menus fine and everything seems perfect. I then click the PS1 disc and try to boot it. The screen goes blank and the PSP screen shows the little loading swirl. And then it boots me out of Remote Play with an error code (80028f17).

I can't boot ANY PS1 games but everything else between the PSP/PS3 seems to work with no issue whatsoever. I even downloaded one from PSStore to try and that's the same story.

Error code is 80028f17, which is even stranger as when I've looked it up it seems to relate to PS2 games. Any ideas, GAF?

Hate to drag myself back up, but I'm desperate to get this stuff fixed.. Anyone?

Convert it into an eboot and just play it off the mem stick. It'll look and run better, and you won't need to turn the PS3 on to play.

Well, I just finished flashing 3.80 M33 on both my Fat and my Slim.
Then I ran the network update on both and upgraded them to 3.80 M33-2.

No issues. Amazing stuff, DA.

The only people I can see topping Dark_Alex is Team Wildcard with their mega-secret "Utopia Project". It rumoured to be a completely written from scratch new PSP OS.

Welp, as resident Nazi Wireless Admin, looks like the only way the PSP is going online is through the PS3 or a leak. :p

Out of curiosity, how would you get your PSP online through the PS3? I've taken to flipping my router down to WPA to do quickie online PSP stuff, but I'd rather not have to mess around with that.

They're still around? They released their own version of 3.40 cfw long ago, didn't they? I lost track of them LONG ago.

I thought you were waiting to upgrade your Fat? Did a 1.5 patch get released when I wasn't paying attention?

Not to detract from what would be an amazing coding project (and very challenging) but one of the reasons D_A's code is so great is that he just modifies the OFM "enough": I'd worry that with a completely custom OS, there'd be compatibility issues.

Nah. I said 'fuck it!' and just went ahead with both upgrades. :D

I haven't used my Fat since September anyway, so why not?

I'm still struggling (I wish there was a POPS version that FULLY supporting it...) with Ogre Battle PSX, so I better wait till there's a working POPSloader.

Actually, if someone wouldn't mind testing OB on 3.80 POPS, I'd really appreciate it. (The music screeches on anything higher or lower than 3.52 currently.)

Looks like POPS 3.80 won't load my POPS 3.72 DQVII saves.

I have 1 save each on MC1 and MC2, one 93:00 hours in, the other 97:12 hours in, and neither will load.

The game clearly recognizes the MCs and save files, but fails to load them. It isn't even a full hang, since that happy/chirpy menu music just keeps on playing and looping and playing...

So weird.

updated to 3.80-2, easy as pie. If you're looking for a working screenshot plugin, use this: http://www.qj.net/Screenshot-Plugin-3-71-2-in-game-bug-fix/pg/49/aid/109406

edit: got it.

can you or anyone tell me please how to install this plugin?

Inside the folder "seplugins"

Create a txt file called "VSH" and one called "GAME" and put the line.

ms0:/seplugins/screenshot.prx

In both, then using the recovery console (holding R when booting the psp) click 'Plugins' and turn on both screenshots to enabled, then click exit and you'll boot to the psp main menu.

Then all you have to do is click Note (the musical note next to the select button) and a picture will be in your memory stick. :D

what is up with all this poploader stuff? i have never had any trouble playing any psx games. maybe i've skirted all the troubled games. but when i see you guys talking about popsloader i'm at a loss

Got the new update. Too bad I had to ditch my old themes though. :( (inaflow is sexy).

EDIT: 3.80 popsloader is out? I'm new the whole CFW scene. I've been trying to get my Legend of Dragoon working on my PSP since I installed 3.71M33 (about a week ago). It's killing me. I have the ISOs ripped (yes, I ripped them myself from a copy I purchased) but everyone multidisc GUI thingy I use doesn't seem to like Vista. :(.

3.80 POPSLoader is NOT out. Neither is the 1.50 patch for Fats running 3.80.

POPSLoader is an optional plugin that allows you to load up versions of POPS (the Sony-developed PSOne emulator for the PSP) OTHER than the version included with your FW (or CFW).

FWs only include "their" version of POPS. 3.80 and 3.80 M33 only have POPS v3.80.

Now, changes are made from version to version, and the POPS development team only worries about current and near-future PSN downloads of PSOne games. So sometimes, home-converted PSOne games that happened to work in earlier versions of POPS don't in newer ones. In such a case, instead of downgrading your CFW to that older version, you use the POPSLoader plugin to force your PSP to load your PSOne game with an earlier version of POPS.

What was Inaflow like?

On my phat 3.71 m33-4 I'm running Inacor MCE which I think is amazing.

My slim is the one posted earlier running 3.80 m33-2.

Currently, there is no 1.50 support for Fats running 3.80 M33. That'll come later.
Likewise, POPSLoader requires an update that isn't yet available.

Additionally, the memory stick driver is glitchy (and DA claims this is Sony's fault) and on some mem cards, your games or game saves may not show up.

Might just hold off then. What does the POPSloader update do?

That means that if you have a 3.71 M33 Fat PSP with 1.50 kernel support installed, upgrading to 3.80 M33 will lose the 1.50 kernel support. If you have any homebrew apps that require 1.50 kernel support (and don't have updated 3.xx kernel versions or alternatives) they will cease to work.

And regarding the POPSLoader update... there IS NO POPSLoader update yet. But the POPSLoader that was introduced with 3.71 M33-4 will not work with 3.80 M33.

As I said before, the 1.50 patches and POPSLoader versions that ran with 3.71 M33 will not work with 3.80 M33. Updated versions are in the works and will likely hit in a few days or a week or two.

No problem. Basically, we're in the same boat as when the original 3.71 M33 hit. That was the first CFW from DA to NOT include 1.50 support built it. It too had 1.50 support patched in later, though of course, since the Slims are totally incompatible with the 1.50 kernel, the patch only applies to Fats.

Hey, when did you get your tag? :D Congrats since I didn't see it earlier!

A couple of weeks ago. Thanks. Sure beats the old one, which I still feel was not deserved.

I'm assuming it does but I just wanted to make sure, if I make a new multidisk eboot of a game will the save file from the old singledisk eboot work with the new multidisk eboot I create?

So has anyone found a way to replace the built-in internet browser? It might be worthwhile to look into installing Opera Mini or something similar into the PSP. :D

Does anyone have remote play fully working? I can connect to my PS3 via private network, but not via the internet.

Whenever I try to sign into my PSN ID (on my PSP) to connect to my PS3, it says that the sign-in password and/or email are incorrect even though I KNOW they are not. Anyone with similar experiences or advice?

I haven't tried with 3.80 M33, but I had no issues accessing Remote Play (via internet or the PS3's access point) using 3.71 M33-4 (with the official 3.72 files patched in manually).

You should be fine. I tested it with DQVII and it seemed to work.

Upgraded to 3.80 M33 and my PMPAdvance doesn't work anymore :( (worked flawlessly on 3.72 M33)

Nevermind, found the 3.80 version.
