Each time I've done my Slim I've done it without the cover on, there isn't a safety measure for it. Plug the AC adapter in and try it that way, that always works for me - I'm assuming it's the 78% charge thing.SOLDIER said:Won't work, I try holding the battery with my hand lightly pressing on it, but the PSP will turn green but then turn off. I'm not sure how much pressure I have to apply, but it probably has a safety measure so that it has to be covered.
bgudna said:man, I got FF7 fever the other day, so I ripped the disks into a single eboot .. damn the game looks good on the PSP! I highly recommend it to those who haven´t played it in years (or never!)
If you use the MultiDisc Popstation GUI you can have it put all the discs into 1 eboot.EGM92 said:How do you join eboots? I want to play Lunar 1&2 but don't have the patience to play it at home, I'd rather much play it on the go but Lunar 1 requires a disk swap.

SOLDIER said:Ordered a 4gb card from Ebay for $15.
Of course now I'm wondering if I can transfer the files from the 1gb to the 4gb, or if I'll have to start the whole thing over?
And again, what files can be removed and what has to be kept?

Shh. Let him get burned. If he doesn't find out himself, he'll never learn.navanman said:Cancel that order ASAP. Every and I mean every MS is a FAKE on eBay. Spent another 5 and get the real thing that will have proper read/write speeds & isn't maybe a 2GB card faked to read its a 4GB card.
it's not really paranoia, the vast majority of memory sticks on ebay are knockoffs that don't perform as well as legitimate cards, don't support magicgate, are of generally poorer workmanship, and sometimes aren't even the right capacity.SOLDIER said:Oh snap, whatever will I do.

Fucking HONG KONG? Dude. That's 100% guaranteed bullshit there.
You don't need any of the files once cfw is installed. I used the 1GB card that came with my PSP to install cfw and then put it aside and started using my 8GB card without any of the files on it. The only reason I kept the files on my 1GB card was so I could quickly install cfw on other people's PSPs.SOLDIER said:So my next question: Now that it's installed, what files can I remove on my card to free up space?
SOLDIER said:So you're saying it's installed on the system itself, not the memory card? So in other words, not only can I delete the files on the card, but I can swap another card (the 4gb one) and still keep the homebrew?
Danj said:What this guy said. 4GB cards are uber cheap these days (heck, someone posted earlier saying he saw a 16GB card for $120 at buy.com)
Danj said:Well, obviously you gotta copy your homebrew games/programs across to the new card, but yeah.

I've been asking this like crazy but I still haven't gotten an answer: How do I install RemoteJoy, and what settings do I use to get it working?
1. Put remotejoylite.prx in
your PSP's ms0:/seplugins/. Add it to game.txt as "ms0:/seplugins/remotejoylite.prx" without quotations.
2. Put your PSP into recovery mode (hold R during power on) and enable it via the Plugins option.
3. If you are on Windows Vista, reboot your computer, push F8 at some specific
point during bootup (not sure exactly when as I do not have Vista), and enable
installation of unsigned drivers.
4. Connect your USB cable and start a game. On Windows, if you haven't done it
already, there will be a driver installation prompt. Jump through the various
hoops and point it to the Type B windows USB drivers (included in one of the packages posted in the RJ thread)
^--- Do the above just once
v--- Do the below every time you want to play
5. Plugin the USB cable, and run RemoteJoyLite.exe
6. Run game.
A recommendation - there's a way to create folders in operating systems. Learn how to do that and you'll find your answer.SOLDIER said:I don't see a plugins folder anywhere on my PSP. Here's some screenshots, the third link showing the only txt file with 'game' on the name.
SOLDIER said:.....I know how to create folders, I'm just wondering if I need any additional files to put in the folder. What do I do about the lack of a game.txt? Make a blank one or copy the one I linked to the plugin folder?
if there's no seplugins folder in the root of the memoey sticl, you make one, then you put a game.txt inside it1. Put remotejoylite.prx in
your PSP's ms0:/seplugins/. Add it to game.txt as "ms0:/seplugins/remotejoylite.prx" without quotations.
Hcoregamer00 said:What game is that?
You can fix that by editing the eboot. It's really easy!Marty Chinn said:This requires 4.05 and I can't play it yet =(

"ms0:/seplugins/remotejoylite.prx" without quotations.
then you do the rest of the instructions pasted above.
SOLDIER said:Pretty sure I did something wrong here, but let me show you what I did so far.
1. First, I made a folder called "seplugins" in my root.
2. I then copied the txt file into it.
3. I then added /kd/seplugins/remotejoylite.prx to the game.txt file.
I then go to the Recovery Menu and select the Plugins-> tab, but nothing is listed.
So please tell me what I did wrong. Was I supposed to copy one of the RemoteJoy files into the PSP's memory card? Or did I make an incorrect configuration somewhere?
Oh and finally, I've been getting some stuttering/frame skipping during FMVs. Any way to fix that?
ms0: means the memory stick drive letter. ms0 is the device name in the PSP (very Unix-like).SOLDIER said:That didn't work either. As you see in the links, the root is named /kd/, not ms0. Regardless, neither one worked. It doesn't even show up in the plugins list. Anything else I might have overlooked?

Summary: basically, all security of newest psp cpu's rely on the secrecy of the calculation of those 0x20 bytes. If pre-ipl were dumped somehow, the security would go down TOTALLY.
This works fine on 4.01 for me without doing any hex editing.Marty Chinn said:This requires 4.05 and I can't play it yet =(

prodystopian said:I'm having a mem card problem. When I delete an ISO (PSP game) I have the same amount of free space before as after.
I found a very strange problem while investigating this. In my gpsp folder, the Japanese outlook file was 2GB! I deleted it and replaced it with the 22k sized version from my backup. This still did not solve my memory problem. All of my folders only take up 2.5 GB but I only have 151MB free on a 4GB card.
Any suggestions?
As noted above, there's a glut of fake memory-sticks being sold everywhere that don't support MagicGate, and they all work fine.Danj said:I was just wondering though, does the PSP actually need the MagicGate that's on native Sandisk and Sony MSPD sticks? If not, then it would be possible to get say a microSDHC card and an adapter, since they are cheaper. Just wondering if it would work or if something would break like save games for example (since they are encrypted).

Where would I find my dll directory on my PC? Inside System32?prodystopian said:http://www.dlldll.com/
Download the file from that website, then put it in your windows DLL directory AND in the popstation/data folder.
Try downloading the whole cygwin dll suite from http://www.cygwin.com/ - it should add itself to the path environment variable, so you shouldn't need to do anything else.Ike said:So I'm trying to use the popstation to convert my RE3 iso, but everytime I try to execute the program to convert it into the EBOOT I get an error message that says, "This application has failed to start because cygwin1.dll was not found."
