PSP FIRST EMU !!!!!!!

Having the same problem, I keep hearing saying "remove the battery!" lol but I just turn on and off I know it's not good to be doing it over and over. Hopefully someone will get the home button to work with an emulator.

How do you get back to the PSP interface from the emulator? I can't figure it out for the life of me D:
You have to turn off the system (hold the power switch to "off" for several seconds, otherwise you'll just put it to sleep). The lack of a Home function is sort of annoying, but not a dealbreaker for me.

How is this emulator working? Is it doing that method I heard of last week that takes a compiled elf file and converts it to some other format that the PSP will play?

If it's donig that, why don't they just take the ripped ISOs (which I think ISOs have hit the internet, but I'm not positive), convert the elf, and put the game on a memory stick? Seems logical to me.

BECAUSE THEY'RE ENCRYPTED.

Hi.

I don't have a PSP. I don't plan on buying one.

I didn't plan on reading through pages of a thread about a system I don't have interest in.

I asked a very simple question.

You can fuck off.

Have a nice day! :)

Well then we have no plans or interest in answering your question, you can fuck off, have a nice day. :D

Hi. I'm here to help you be lazy and offensive. Easiest way to do that is to remove the temptation/ability to post things.

Have a nice day.

SNES9X is released, with sound but lacking in the framerate department. Given the speed of development it'll be intereseting to see what will happen in next couple of days.

Going to order a new PSP now...

Going to wait for a 1.50 hack and maybe a save game hack that is moe future proof ;).

Seriously, if I had to order another PSP I would order a Value Pack again... the problem is that is exactly what I cannot afford now ;). (VAT would rape me again)

Well...I think it won't be a bad idea to have two systems...One for the scene and another one to play.

I want to play SNES games (Axelay, Cybernator, Goemon, CV 4, Contra, Demon's Crest, SF Alpha 2, Super Metroid, Yoshi's Island, FFV, SMT2...) but I also want to play upcoming PSP releases like GT4 for instance.

Please don't joke with this duckroll... Is it true ???

Oh shit...I should have kept the old fucked PSP instead of selling it...

No, I'm not kidding, a friend just bought his J PSP via an import store (he's in UK) and it was preloaded with 1.50. Now that we know that even the new games are forcing firmware upgrades, I think pretty soon it's going to be fucking hard to get a 1.0 PSP. >_<

WHY DID I UPDGRADE TO 1.50?!?!?!?!?!?! WHHYYYY >_<

Anything for you, my dear :)

I know, I have no sk33lz with a camera. It runs very slow, even the menus, but it'll get better. I'll go test it some more before lunch.

so is there gonna be a upgrade that will allow the emus to run on the latest firmware or what?

Wow...if earthbound runs that slow...I wonder how Axelay may run... :( Well, let's hope they improve speed and make a way to use it on 1.5...
I couldn't care less about the rest of the scene. SNES gaming is all I want !

You have to keep in mind that Emulation has only been around for like 2 weeks... 4 at most and no one is an expert at making emus for the PSP just yet, looking at the leaps in the last week I'd say give them 2 more weeks and they should have a full stable emulator with better resolutions and better FPS. This was basically a straight forward port of just changing the SNES9X source code to be compatible with the PSP's not much has been coded specifically for the PSP yet.

AFAIK the dev kits are heavily water-marked so this makes kinda hard to leak them. However, some scene devs have commented me that everything is on the kernel, in the sense that you have access to whatever through kernel calls.
Last week they didn't have access to VFPU and ME...And now they seem they have (ME for sure).

Can i just ask, Has anyone been able to return to the 1.0 firmware from a 1.5 installed? I just wanna know if anyone has/can do it.

Not so far. 1.0 bios files have been more or less dumped though.

Well a couple of PSP Devs have done it, but they had to manually open the PSP unsolder the Bios chip flash it (Not as easy as it sounds) and solder it back... and I doubt anyone here is stupid enough to do this

Somebody said that a 1.51 BIOS update was released for the US. Is that accurate? If so, I wonder if anybody was foolish enough to do it?

will services be available from third party vendors that will offer to mod the PSP for a fee, in order for it to work? What do you speculate?

Stupid and unrelated...but I think that a Revolution-esque service for the PSP would rock. Being able to download NES/SNES classics would be awesome.
Can Konami/Capcom/Taito/Banpresto/Square do this without Nintendo's permisson ? Technically the games are from they !

They can put their NES/SNES games on whatever console they choose. (see MM and MMX collection for example)

Edit: They could probably do the same thing for the Play Yan/DS. ;)

They will, but it will be pointless. 1.51 addresses how they ripped Wipeout Pure. If they acted that fast for that, think how fast they'll act for actually running unsigned code.

Sho Nuff, I'll kill you.

;)

BTW, there are rumors of a Neogeo Emulator on the works. Yes, you've heard it right "100 Mega-Shock" Neogeo.
