I rate Xbox and Sony the same: meh/10

SGF was just a snoozefest

Underwhelming all around

Xbox #1 by sheer number of titles that were interesting

SOP #1 for quality of shown games.

SGF #1 for shows that contained resident evil 9 reveals.

but generally SGF is absolute dog shit and should be ashamed of itself.

State of Play - 6/10
Marvel Tokon and 007 most interesting game revealed in all 3 shows. Interesting in Romeo is Dead and Pragmata. Yotei bait and switch knocks the show down a point

Xbox - 5/10
I liked the clockwork game. Overall solid with nothing really standing out. Appreciate them going third party

SGF - 3/10
Not an RE fan so the whole thing was a waste of a couple hours. And why does Geoff look like he is about to cry before announcing any new game?

SoP: 2/10
SGF: 7/10
Xbox: 6.5/10

I'm happy SoP gave what some people wanted, but other than Silent Hill f which I may not even end up playing, there just wasn't anything I'll play. Pragmata I want to like, but currently doesn't look like I'll play it.

State of Play: D
The Geoffs: E
Xbox: B

Gotta say, I was quite surprised by Xbox. I thought they had a decent showing.

State of Play 8/10

Sony showed off lots of good shit. Silent Hill F alone made this show the clear winner. Pragmata and Ghost of Yotei looks terrific too. Romeo is Suda 51 craziness at its very best. 007 might be cool too, not really into James Bond but if it's like Uncharted I might be in.

Summer game fest 7/10

Resident Evil 9 brought this up to 7, otherwise it was kinda mid. Geoff had some bangers in there for sure, like ILL, Atomic Heart 2, Dying Light and End of Abyss, but it also had some mediocre filler stuff. Lucy is a looker though and much better host than Geoff. I hope she replace him.

Xbox Showcase 6/10

Very up and down. Clockwork revolution, Cronos and that Korean AAA Two hearts looked amazing but I'm disappointed that Fable, Perfect Dark and E-day were AWOL. Closing with COD was such an anticlimax and I don't care about the live service stuff like ESO, Fallout 76 and Sea of thieves. Expected more from Xbox to be honest.

Nintendo: 0/10

Where the hell is our Direct? You think just because you launched a new console you can just ditch us during not-E3? 😠

These shows are now complementary.
Over 90% of the games showcased are multiplatform.
I see a lot interesting games coming out in the near future (Death Stranding 2, Mafia, Silent Hill f, Ghost of Yotei, MGS Delta) and already a lot of stuff for next year (RE9, Onimusha, Nioh 3, Pragmata, 007, Marvel Tokon).
I think gamers should be happy and in general are happy.

But unfortunately for older gamers it's not easy to give up on what they have been used to for many years.
The era of publishers feeling forced to announce whatever they got years in advance to try to impress fanbases and "win" over the competition at annual showcases is over.
The idea of rating these shows using old criteria and putting them in competition is a now an obsolete and flawed logic.

1 - SOP -some decent games and it didn't overstay its welcome.
2 - Xbox - Not great, but had some mildly interesting games.
3 - SGF - made 2 hours feel like a lifetime.

State of Play: 8/10
Summer Game Fest: 5/10, felt like an ad for Unreal Engine
Xbox: 3/10
PC Gaming Show: -90000/10

Probably the most uninterested I've ever been for this time of year. There hasn't been anything where I went "holy shit, that is cool". SOP, SGF, and XGS all failed me. I'm not even going to bother rating them.

The message board that doesn't play games doesn't like the showcases for new games. Surprise surprise.

I think every show was a B this year.

Plenty to look forward to from every camp unless you're just a miserable person lol.

Yep, zero holy shit moments all week.

These shows are getting worse with each year we stray further from E3. No one feels the pressure to turn up with anything mindblowing because they're no longer in one arena competing to steal the headlines.

The atmosphere at these shows is like I'm watching the trailers before a movie. Might see things I like occasionally but if there's something earth-shattering coming out, it's not getting announced whilst I'm waiting in the cinema.

RE9 was that for me.

I really dug that new ILL game too.

I would've loved say, elder scrolls 6 to blow the roof off this bitch, or a halo remake, blood borne anything, etc.

So id concede yes there wasn't anything over the top.

Part of it is creating a steady pipeline of hype for consumers. If we got too much here then the game awards have nothing. It has to be paced out.

I'm not a Resident Evil fan but the trailer looked nice enough.

Something along the lines of the Halo infinite anounce trailer was sorely missing tonight, even if that game didn't turn out that great in the end.

Sony - Good
SGF - Aight
Xbox - Ozempic
I hope for Phil it is just ozempic. He was looking way worse last year that it might be cancer or something really bad.

He always looked beefy in the past and not fat in the slightest. So I'm surprised to see him lose half his body mass. Today he looked healthier though.
