This gen's L4D is Back 4 Blood. While not an amazing game, it's still far better than Redfall.Damn, these comments are brutal. I'm watching Many A True Nerd run through the first bit. I recall Redfall being a big deal a couple years ago. Basically, this generation's answer to Left 4 Dead/LFD 2. Hopefully, some patching can take care of the graphical/technical issues, but something seems very off at Arkane.

I haven’t played it but from the footage I’ve seen (which is quite a bit) I agree. It should be in the 30-45 range.I am under the impression that a few days after launch, it appears that even 62 is way too generous a score. It seems that the game should not be over 40-45, something like Forspoken is way better game in all components

How is slightly above average right? Only if you consider the only viable scores to be 7-10/10. The game is below average, it has fundamental issues with its design and execution. It should be 3 or 4/10.PC meta is just about right.
You're not wrong. That a mediocre game still manages to get a 60 average from critics, speaks volumes of the mediocrity of professional gaming journalists.
Projecting your own insecurities.relying on metacritic user scores
Touchdown for 50's all of us who voted 50-60 were right all along. Now both the PC and XBS are in the 50 Bo_Hazem2 more reviews added and the score down from 62 to 60 for XBS and it's still too much. The 4 from IGN review was added and don't know the other one. Only -1 more to go for the 50. This game should be in the 40's

I checked one of the latest reviews, here is its conclusionThat a mediocre game still manages to get a 60 average from critics, speaks volumes of the mediocrity of professional gaming journalists.
Redfall was conceived with a bunch of promises around it, the real vampiric apocalypse is that it coulnd't hold up to any of those. Looking as a last gen game with loading textures and an incredibly dumb AI. This game looks more like a concept or an alpha version than a Microsoft Game Studios final product.
What score do you think they gave it? 6.9/10.Even being part of this Microsoft program, Redfall is a game that I recommend avoiding, there are many things to play, even within Game Pass that will provide you with more fun.
Thats video game scoring for probably 20 years. Maybe more. That a mediocre game still manages to get a 60 average from critics, speaks volumes of the mediocrity of professional gaming journalists.
I think they were going for something deep. He was branded a monster. Like indicating he was a literal monster or something.Yeah, I also believe that Monster should SUE THE ASS out of Arcane for using their logo!!
Wow man!This is brutal.
Absolutely savage point by John Linneman of DF.
59 Xbox, 57 PCDidn't expect IGN to give it a 4/10 geez this game will be in the 50's in no time
Sorry if this was posted upthread, but this might be the most brutal review I’ve ever seen. He recommends that you not even download it on Gamepass to try it. And he hosts an Xbox podcast.
This looks just... horrendous
I can't believe Microsoft put marketing money behind this. Holy shit its bad.
How the hell do you go from PREY to this??
Phil's comment about the bugs and the game crash stats being inline with other games is just.... so out of touch it's crazy.
Where the fuck did they pull this guy from?
I watch a video this guy made about a month ago, after the influencer preview, saying it was okay but had some concerns. Then this video it's completely opposite. But no one seemed to bring that up in the comment section.Destin Legarie is about as big of an Xbox apologists I have seen. So, I was interested what he'd say about the game on Podcast Unlocked.
He said, "it is possibly the worst AAA game that I have ever played".
I think SkillUp said that it reminded them of some late 2000s Bandcamp "demo" tracks. I laughed because it's so spot on. The music legit sounds like from...like an unofficial Blade sequel in a 7/11 DVD rack. Now is the time to say that I voted 70/80. I should try to get hired by Xbox to do mock reviews.
The skill up review is really good, thanks for all those that put it in the thread. One question to those few that did play it, did it have good music? All the rest can be excused by saying that the game was rushed or caused by tech issues, or whatever excuse you want to believe but music is mostly independent. So at least that part can give something good from it.
Thanks. The review is great but sadly he did not really talked about it specifically. So I hope that there is at least one music that is good. GOW Ragnarok is a masterpiece to me because among other things of the music. And there has to be at least a good one in that one too. We got 66 page for this thread. And I read all of them. Even if it was funny at times, like some of the bugs were really hilarious, it is still a lot of work so I try to find at least one good thing going for it. Maybe someone who did play it will come after and answer .I think SkillUp said that it reminded them of some late 2000s Bandcamp "demo" tracks. I laughed because it's so spot on. I did play the game. Not for very long because it sucks but the music is shit imo. I just went from the Pizza Tower OST being an insane masterpiece on like zero budget to this "AAA" disasterThanks. Updated score on both Xbox Series X|S and PC.
With this, Redfall has now also become the lowest-rated Xbox Series X|S game among all first-party and third-party Xbox Series games.
Thanks again. And sorry if you believed that I insinuated that you didn't play it. I should have formulated that better.I did play the game. It's Akarne Lyon (France) that made Dishonored, Redfall is from Akarne Austin (US).It’s just weird. I understand that teams change, but come on. Arkane made Dishonored ffs.
And Cyberpunk on pc was eons better than this game that is not even funny. You know, they stopped selling Cyber Punk because it really should not have been put out. Paying 70 for this... is pure robbery and should have never passed QA
You are not alone, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Now is the time to say that I voted 70/80. I should try to get hired by Xbox to do mock reviews.

Oh no worries, didn't think that! Thanks again. And sorry if you believed that I insinuated that you didn't play it. I should have formulated that better.
Needs to go lower still. 5 is average and it's worse than that.
But review scores are fucked so not gonna happen.
That's exactly what I was talking about in my second sentence.5 has never been average for game scoring. Anything below 7 is considered abysmal.
That's exactly what I was talking about in my second sentence.
After the Fall is a good L4D clone but it's VR only. Crossplay though and has received good support. L4D in VR would be dope, or a remaster/rerelease even. This gen's L4D is Back 4 Blood. While not an amazing game, it's still far better than Redfall.
For real, it should be in the 30s or lower.Needs to go lower still. 5 is average and it's worse than that.
