Its also clear that he thinks the multiplayer component is nothing, I can agree with his reasoning, but brushing off Forge, Theatre, Firefight etc is just silly.
As for the whole Heroic VS Legendary thing, Legendary is not actually that hard, but it is less fun. I found myself trying to out DMR Elites in Heroic. On Legendary thats pretty much not a possibility due to theyre buffed shields. Noob Comboing them was the only real way to do it, which sucks because it made the game easy and shortened battles loads.

I think this is why I don't really do Legendary runs. Halo 2 scared me away :lol

Uhg, this week sucks. I have nearly no time to play.
Does anyone else really struggle to win mid range dmr vs dmr battles?
I'm only an average player, but i never feel confident of winning in this situation. Perhaps i am just plain doing it wrong, but i normally try to pace my shots slightly rather than spamming them (though i do sometimes panic and forget to do this), which i assumed is the correct way to go about it, but it feels like most of my opponents don't do that.
I know some people say to fire off the first 4 shots to the body quickly, and then wait for the bloom to fade and go for the headshot, but it often sounds to me like my opponents just continue firing as fast as possible and get the 5 shot anyway. I never hear them slow down for the last shot and it seems to work regardless, but if i do that it doesn't (and nor should it imo).
Strangely enough i have more kills than deaths with the dmr in both arena and competitive playlists, but when it comes to mid range encounters i still feel helpless with it.

If you fire first, pace yourself. If you get caught out and are firing second, you might want to go spammier to try and luck out.
Think of it like catching a miracle out in an all-in poker hand where you're an underdog.

That's a good point, i generally fire the same way whether i have the first shot or not, i will have to try that ;-)

So I've been looking at some of the top rated forge remakes of maps, and I find myself continually disappointed. Out of the 7 or so i downloaded, only 2 didn't look like complete wank; Purgatory (a remake of Damnation) and The Pit. Neither had competent spawn placement, and The Pit was set up for MLG (no sword, rockets in camo, etc). I'm saddened.

Just played a couple of fun games. In BTB Slayer some prick on my own team knocked me off the spire with a melee while I was DMRing people from on high. This counted as a suicide for some reason and the creep chortled about it to his friends. So I spawned, grabbed the rocket launcher, and clowned him like a bitch twice in a row. He finished as one of the bottom three players while I made top three. Sweet justice.
The other game was BTB CTF on Boneyard. Invasion was the only game type I'd tried on that map up until then, and I was surprised by how different it played with battles concentrated outside the major structures. Boneyard is actually a really nice space for CTF, with lots of different angles of approach to the flags and some prime sniping positions. By some miracle I happened to be matched with a team who understood the concept of cooperation (well, aside from the dude who grenaded me because I evaded past him and snatched the Ghost). We made several concerted pushes for the flag that involved many vehicle skirmishes, some of which broke into intense firefights after people's rides were disabled. Shockingly, the guy who kept grabbing the Warthog delivered me to the flag and back to base twice without driving off a cliff or otherwise ruining my shit. Matchmaking is a lot a fun when everything comes together like that.
In other news, having seen a couple Lt. Colonels decked out in high-level gear, and stolen a peek at the rest of the unlockables on YouTube, I've come to realize that the only Armory items that interest me more than slightly are the extremely expensive ones that will take me months to unlock. Damn it. I wish Bungie would let me immediately customize my Spartan the way I want to and tie different incentives to the progression system. My dude is still in mostly default gear because I don't want to waste credits on lame armor pieces. On a related point, why the hell does the tactical pad cost 50000 credits? I could buy a blue visor that applies to all of my helmets for the same amount. Pricing is wonked. I am so mad a Lukems!

Do what I do, start firing in their general direction when you're too far away to really be effective. Not scoped in of course, which is important for the next part. When they turn around and start jumped wildly and headshotting you from across the map, that's when you want to accidentally click in the right stick and focus in on some piece of background behind and above them.BadAss84 said:

Oh man, went into Campaign to do Be Vigilant. Loaded up LNoS on Heroic with Iron, Famine, Catch, and Cloud. Breezed though the first few encounters and got up to 7K. Easy, I thought. Started flying around space, listening to the chatter and waiting for the first Banshees to show up. Accidentally flew into an aerial and died instantly.

I was getting the automatic weapon challenge in multi-team, and I got around to thinking about how pathetically weak the AR is. It has potential to be a real contender in the sandbox, but it needs a huge increase in power, range, and/or clip size. Firing an entire clip close-mid range and only being able to pop the shields and do a little body damage just makes me feel silly for using it. It needs to be able to kill somebody at mid-range with much less trouble.
I notice a lot of people don't pulse their shots with the AR at all and just hold the trigger. They don't notice the bloom on it as much because they just don't care about the weapon. They may not even notice the bloom is there at all, they just assume the weapon sucks, because it does.
I'm a little too -blam!-ed to maintain any more logic than that but that's why I think the weapon is far too weak and Bungie just included it in Reach more as a salutation to the AR.

I hate you Bungie.
I was on like 20 assists, and so to get my assist challenge complete before I slept I played 1 multi team and just used AR. I ended up getting like 20 AR kills that game and so feel like I have to keep playing to get my AR challenge done.
I HATE the AR, im so glad I usually have the Pistol and arent usually being an idiot about completing challenges. :lol I never intended to go after this challenge if I wasnt already so close. Im even running past the Snipe doing this
The worst thing is I have a REALLY early morning. You have me hooked.
