More recently he has said that he would run against Trump in 2020 if people supported the idea.

These days? I disagree. They're absolute scum, and so is anyone that votes for them. They're either incredibly malicious, incredibly selfish, or incredibly stupid.
The Rock is a registered independent who voted and endorsed Barack Obama twice.
Hasn't been a Republican supporter since ~2000, pre-Bush. Even then, he's always been socially liberal and once attended the DNC to encourage people to vote.
