These people are legit children. Some laws and rules are there for escalation for those who don't take personal responsibility. It's all just made up vague language, it's all touting "specialists" that magically come and fix everything. This isn't a Disney movie, whether you're a "specialist" or not, not all people will behave logically and disarm or deescalate a situation. Hostage negotiators aren't 100% successful, neither are mental health specialists or anyone else. There's so much we still don't understand about humans, especially with mental health that it's not like you go to a psychiatrist once and they magically fix you. They just want to live in their fantasy world where everything plays out like a movie. That's why they become so angry and violent when it doesn't work that way.

Edit: Also all the mods saying this is what police SHOULD be, absolutely not. They should have some skills to help in various situations but they shouldn't be people changing your lights or replacements for actual mental health experts. These have very different field of expertise and should not be a replacement for actual professionals. JFC

When I used tumblr I had a mutual who said she didn't support Markiplier and that he was a white supremacist because he's still friends with Pewdiepie. The guy who said a few bad things and got taken out of context on most of it. Being friends with him still is enough to get you the white supremacist label. Even if you're half Asian like Markiplier. He even went to the women's march for christ's sake.

It's insanity. Being seen with the wrong person can get you cancelled now.
