RESIDENT EVIL 5 Demo up on US Marketplace.

Is my 360 diying or the game is tearing like hell ?

I get a weird blinking blue line on top of the screen too.

I didn't try other game but the image was fine in the dashboard.

Can tearers list their resolution? I got some bad framerates in the Public Assembly house and some minor tearing at the end of the second demo but nothing like what is being described. That blue light was mentioned in December though.

After playing the first scenario, I'm reminded how much I need to finish RE4 on the Wii. I love these games, I just never finish them.

Nah, it's not your 360, it's a problem with the game demo. Same thing happened here.

I enjoyed the demo BTW, though I'm not a big follower of this franchise so my expectations were pretty low.

Did Capcom remove the female enemies from this game?
It didn't hit me until I went back and watched the trailer from TGS 2007:

The crowds were ~30% women back then.

The cutscene in the demo has been altered to have an entirely male crowd, and I never faced a single woman in the demo. Female "zombies" haven't appeared in recent trailers either. What gives? Potential controversy?

This sucks my gold ran out a few days ago =(. Is this a timed exclusive thing again or will it be there for silver accounts next week/until the game comes out?

1680*1050 here.

The tearing makes the demo nearly unplayable. The worst is during the cutscenes, there's constant screen tearing.

I don't mind minor tearing a la uncharted but the demo is really in another category.

I'm pretty sure it tears like a motherfucker at anything greater than 720p. I think that has to be the commonality here.

And AMN: That IS very weird.

I played it, I thought it was aright. Definitely a solid game I'll probably end up getting but it didn't impress me like the RE4 did. I guess that's expected since the change from 4 to 5 isn't as radical as it was from previous REs to 4.

Blue light thing is VGA as well right? Personally I would avoid playing it on VGA altogether. None of that over HDMI and tearing is pretty much non-existent. Hopefully Capcom locks down those VGA issues however.

Not so sure about that Y2K, I had read others say it's gone on 720p on HDMI, but I played earlier multiple times and saw maybe one instance or so. 720p may clean that up altogether, but VGA seems like the real culprit.

Also, I hadn't noticed all the women until you mentioned it and yea they are out.

Same thing happens if I play the game 1024x768 resolution with my VGA cable. No tearing or blue line if I play it with my HDMI cable at 720p.

Maybe the game controls like a tank because Chris is a tank?
He should be added to Street Fighter IV, punching those zombies in the face never gets old.

God this game is crack, not even getting chainsawed in the next (with no decapitation whut) can dissuade me from having this day one.

Dude has some freaking big biceps. I mean th ey're, like, giganticore huge.

Also they may have taken out the women in the demo due to keeping it as small as possible. I'd hate to think that it was a censorship issue. Equal opportunity bullet sponges and throat slices and all that.

Demo disappointed me. It's like a stumped non-scifi version of Dead Space without polish. But it's just a demo, so I could be wrong.

Yup, VGA here. Unfortunately that's my only option at the moment :(

I loved the controls in that game, and I love them here. Tank controls, which I don't consider RE4&5 to have especially compared to the old days of survival horror, don't bother me at all. This is a tough crowd to please.

God damn, this game is so good. Amazing graphics and yes, good controls. Fuck the haters. Unless you're dying because of the controls, stop bitching. If you want a straight forward action game, DON'T PLAY RESIDENT EVIL. It's fun as hell and that's all that matters.

at the time i didn't like them either. but i got used to them while playing the game. and i will get used to them playing RE5. Doesn't make them good though.

Well there are 4 different control combos so...one of em has to work fine for you. Remember, its still survival horror.
No, none of them really work. The control coupled with the character movement, location of the camera all make the game really hard to play. I played the demo on all the control schemes because I REALLY want to enjoy this game but for me it's unplayable, in the demo at least.

All your posts automatically become awesome when I pretend your avatar is speaking them.

I am enjoying the demo but anyone who said it seems like step back from Dead space interms of Gameplay is correct.

Things just feel "off" it might all be due to it being a demo tho.

that looks so much better IMO.
I remember when Takeuchi said that development was going smooth and that the game would hit in 2010 at the earliest, just a few months later they confirmed a 2009 release. My guess is that they lowered the bar a bit to get it out on time. It still looks amazing though.

That's pretty much a fact. Half the characters in the demo are either white or hispanic and the demo isn't nearly as colorful as that screen shot. Hope that's just because it's a different level but I doubt it.

Great demo. RE4 was as close to perfection as any video game I've ever played, so more of the same is fine with me.

Just needed another difficulty level. Even professional felt crazy easy once you get proficient at playing.

I noticed this too a while back.

Doesnt seem that way to me. I think its randomized. Seems like the dictator guy isnt that important either, since you can kill him.

Plus, just like Dead Space, you cant get the true feel from the demo. You arent concerned with ammo, health, or any conservation.

Oiy. WHY can't I run AND shoot? :lol That's going to bother me playing through the game. I have to stop, shoot, run, stop, shoot, run. Fuck that. But I love you Resident Evil!

The game has been downgraded since then :\

Clearly RE4 was your first RE game you've played before. People complaining about the controls in RE5 is fine, but to say there was something wrong with 4's just makes you sound stupid.

Because it's not a straight forward fast action game. It's not supposed to be. Not sure how many times this needs to be said. I wouldn't want them to change the game and its enemies to allow shooting while running. It would feel like any other game.

Wow you really REALLY have to play with someone that...well knows how to play an RE game. Co-op is going to be tons of fun, but only with people who sort of know how survival horror works.

At the time, he probably wished RE4 controlled like Gears of War..

why?.. one can dislike any control sceme... i didn't like the standing still/shoot mechanism.. felt weird.. still feels weird...

Playing over HDMI at 720p, and I haven't noticed any tearing or the blue line.

Also, if you're having a problem with the controls, try turning aiming to "fastest". This is not going to help those that have a problem with not being able to move and shoot, but it did make it seem genearally less clunky for me. Was concerned after I played the demo the first time when it hit for JPN, and turning the aiming up really helped.
