Retail Pre-Orders For 'Indiana Jones And The Great Circle' Over 86% Worse Than 'Dragon Age: The Veilguard'

I had a sneaking suspicion that literally nobody gave a shit about this game but I guess now we have confirmation. I don't know anyone who is excited about this game, and that's implying most people even know it exists. Which they don't, actually now that I think about it

And for the few people who do know it exists...

From watching the trailers, it just doesn't look that interesting to me. It all looks a bit clunky and boring.

Also, not everyone is subscribed to Game Pass, I certainly have no desire to pay an additional £10 a month when I barely have time to play the games I own, let alone hundreds more. I'm sure that I'm not the only person of that mindset either. Besides, even if I did have Game Pass, I'm not going to waste my time checking out games that I'm not interested in.

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
What a silly comparison. Indy comes out on Gamepass and won't launch on PS5 this year. No wonder retail pre-orders are worse compared to a game that did come out on PS5.

This game has to win the public with the reviews, or they are +9 or it will pass without glory. On top of that, Gamepass comes out, the magic formula to devalue a videogame...

The gameplays seem to me very orthopedic, lacking in dynamism and Indiana, who is a character I love, no longer has the same popularity, he has not had a good movie since 1989, nor a good game since 1992.

People say it’s because it’s on Gamepass.

Hell fucking no

I pre-ordered STALKER 2 because I plan on playing this game for a long time and don’t want to be a slave to a corporation.

But this Indy game? Yeah, maybe check it out for a week, in which case Gamepass is fine.

Yup. Clunky is the word that springs to mind. First person for melee combat rarely works either. Mr Twatface doing his voice also doesn’t help. I’m happy to be proven wrong though if it scores in the 90’s I’ll play it.

Still, one game is on Gamepass. The other is releasing on multiple platforms, including PS5 and is the newest entry in a well-established franchise. Who would've thought there would be a difference?

It pains me to say this but what is the pull of Indiana Jones these days, does the brand still have it?

No. I said this ages ago but feels like between Indie & Blade they were just picking up the scraps.

I'm going to play this because I love MachineGames not because of the IP.

The last few movies probably ruined the ip.

Similar to the Star Wars outlaws situation.
Nobody under 35 cares about Indy. The recent Indiana Jones movie was supposed to generate a new wave of Indy fans but it bombed spectacularly. I'm sure the game was only greenlit due to the movie. But yeah, now we got a puzzle stealth adventure Indy game instead of Wolfenstein 3. Frustrating

This is the shittest post I’ve seen in sometime on here and I’ve seen some shit. We need a shit award that removes a month of gold.

The brand has been largely superceded by Tomb Raider and later on Uncharted.

Both have had massive success in games and decent success in films.

I mean retail pre-orders are only going to get worse going forward no? Even for successful games? I love physical games but that market is going to get smaller and smaller.

MachineGames watching the newest Indy movie crash and burn, and realizing they still have another year+ to work on a game that no one cares about:

Would be a lot scarier if Bethesda was still independent. At least Machine Games can hide behind Microsoft and Gamepass. Nobody bought the game, but 100's of millions played on gamepass, probably. Success! The first game solely developed by Machine Games in 7 years is Indy. Fucking waste

I questioned the idea of first person whipping from the moment I saw the original concept for the game. I get that MachineGames does FPS titles but then why would they take on an IP like Indiana Jones??

And then we found out it was being made for mODeRn AuDIeNCeS and then I pretty much noped my way out of there

Thanks Thank You GIF by BLKBOK

You realize that's a quick way for the studio to just not exist any more right?
And why is that? Also, I don't care. It's not for me to worry about. MS put this game on GamePass, I'm a gamepass ultimate subscriber. Why would I purchase it. Its not my fault if Gamepass can't carry the studio, It's MS and they can and should be blamed if the studio closes due to their business incompetence.

I just think its dumb to report on this stuff when the first quoted comment is the reason why. It's obvious why it doesnt have the same pre orders as the dragon age game thats on all platforms and not on GamePass. Journalists really are the stupidest hacks these days.

Wow, OP. You’re on to something. Thanks for pointing this out.

(Very much an old fart looking forward to playing this on my Gamepass subscription)

It won't sell amazingly well on PS5 either.

Maybe 1.5M at best?
The last 2 movies were mediocre and then bad. The most recent movie was an outright box office bomb and lost Disney hundreds of millions of dollars

The franchise is in general dead

I'm not expecting miraculous sales numbers on PS5 Xbox, especially since it's going to be a timed exclusive on PC Xbox and Xbox and there will be zero release hype by then. See FFXVI on PC Xbox for more information

They released an utterly shit Indiana Jones movie then followed it up with a game and a 'senior narrative designer' telling us the fucking thing will be for 'modern audiences'

I mean, what the fuck man? It doesn't scream great, does it.

Just clown shit daily, yet again
