I think he's still got another shot at office. Especially if the left remains fragmented. Olivia Chow is the best hope the left has got at ousting him (assuming Ford makes it through this current crisis)

He didn't do it on the steps of a known drug house, surrounded by known drug dealers.

I believe people ITT explained that doing drugs isn't illegal, possessing them or selling them is. So neither Trudeau nor Ford broke the law when they were doing drugs. Now, OTOH, Ford has been financing a crack house amongst other organized crime. He was also complicit and probably aiding and abetting in Lisi's extortion acts. That's illegal.
Not to mention two completely different circumstances.

Very. If Trudeau got caught exchanging mysterious packages with a known drug dealer, downing vodka behind a school, drinking and driving, and pissing in public, you can bet your ass Harper would have an attack ad ready and on TV in half an hour.
Sure but Trudeau said friends brought it over and he tried some at his house, it's far different than associating with gang members, hanging out at a crack house, and all the other stuff Ford has done that's too numerous to list.
