Ok so city council is on record as saying that "SHIT IS FUCKED UP!" and the Ford bros only had 3 councillors left voting with them.

On one hand I completely understand where Perks is coming from. But on the other, shit is so fucked up that doing things by the books is no longer necessarily the best option. And again, neither option is remotely useful so it's all just so damn moot.
I wonder how hard it is to run for councillor. Half of them there are just idiot mouthbreathers.
I liked when a couple of councillors accidentally voted the wrong way on a motion, so council voted to take a revote, and the only people voting against a revote were the Fords. How childish.

As for the province, the provincial government, and provincial parties don't really matter. The fact that none of them are saying shit other than that Ford needs help says quite a bit.
There is a total lack of leadership at the provincial level. They're all worried that they will lose precious votes if they try to do anything. They're proving how craven they are with this issue.

I agree. I actually want this to escalate and go on for the next several months with zero sort of resolutions or closure.

Which makes no fucking sense because they weren't going to vote for them anyways. Also, all the rural conservatives hate Ford because they're more socially conservative.

The problem is "Ford Nation", as a cult of personality, extends beyond Toronto, well into the 905. It's a regional hornet's nest that no provincial leader wants to disturb.
No provincial government wants to toss out a mayor, no matter the province or the city. The political gains are some people in Toronto are glad to be rid of a headache -that may lose in a year, or may be arrested before then- but the political losses are huge. Allegations of over stepping power, court challenges most likely. There's no gain for the province. They're probably hoping the whole thing blows over. And if Toronto reelects a nominally PC candidate, the provincial Liberals can campaign against that and drum up anti right wing anger at the polls.

Okay, I just watched the stream and the speaker said at six they're going "in-camera" which means they'll stop broadcasting, which supports the "emergency meeting" bit. I think reporters are still allowed inside, but they may not be allowed to tweet I'm not sure. Anyhow, this is getting interestinger.
