i guess whats bothering me is the perception of him using the word pussy is unacceptable, or how the word became defined as a lewd or vulgar word when the majority of young female adults and i would wager most women refer to their own genitalia as a pussy when speaking candidly with friends.
It isn't necessarily the fact that lexical item "pussy" is unacceptable. It isn't even an issue that women may refer to the their genitals in that way.

It's that he inappropriately used it at his workplace on live television as the Mayor of Toronto. If any of us spoke to any of our coworkers or anyone who frequents our workplaces in that manner, we'd be fired on the spot or called in for inappropriate conduct. Speaking that way as a representative in power in public in this context (especially on television) is the thing that's most unacceptable.

so fucking what?

when the news runs through the bullet points of allegations and actions Ford may have/has committed, does this particular instance stand out to you as the deal breaker?
It isn't a deal-breaker, but it certainly seems to indicate how seriously he takes his position of authority as a representative of the city in a professional context.

Who said it was a deal breaker? It's just another day and another new low.

No, it's not the deal breaker. That was the smoking crack thing. Why are you hanging your hat on this, though? It was a ridiculous comment for a whole host of reasons... feel free to disagree.

All this used to be funny but now it's just dark. I feel so sorry for the wife.

The internet is not real life. An old fat man eating his wife's pussy is more than I wanted to know about the Mayor. That's disgusting and is no proper way to talk about your wife.

Does he have to confess to as much as he is? Do the police have evidence of drinking and driving? Or alcoholism? I have to applaud his honesty if not.

while its important to note that it doesnt seem like he was prompted to acknowledge this particular allegation.

there is no correlation/similarity between someone saying "Oh ya, I suck lots of cock at home" randomly or a public official speaking candidly combating allegations that he feels are false.

Can the social justice butthurt.

This isn't about he term "pussy" specifically being offensive. This is about the mayor using slang for genitalia in an official manner.

Even if he had said "I sometimes perform cunnilingus on my wife," it'd still be totally and completely inappropriate. The fact that he was extra vulgar about it just makes it worse.

i just dont like the media using this as a compounding factor.

im more interested in the legal side of the circus. i dont care if public officials speak candidly, use vulgar words, be specific when referencing allegations.

realistically, i dont think people actually care about the use of the word, but due to the media, and a small amount of sensitive people, its just what's come to annoy me.

pussy, cock, ass, who cares.

That and he's a government elected official to represent the city who's lacking any semblance of professionalism, tact, and dignity. Instead he's chosen to bring us down with him and doesn't seem to care one bit.

I seriously doubt he eats her pussy, I need him to do a demonstration, he seems up for anything.

I'd believe him more if he said he ate ass, because you are what you eat and he's clearly eaten a large piece of shit

I read that an entirely different way at first glance.

Start openly talking about "eating" your wife at work, see how far that gets you.

They might. I think at this point he doesn't know what they have evidence on, and as everything slowly starts trickling to the public he has to do serious damage control before it gets out.

Yup, great language for kids to hear coming from their elected officials. Wish all the cops who visit schools throw out the cock and pussy language for all the kids to hear too.

It's vulgar language that demonstrates unprofessionalism. Using it in private is one thing, but a high public official saying this stuff is just a lack of decorum.

Ordinarily this would be a minor blip on the radar, but given everything else, this is further confirmation that Ford is an idiot.

It's interesting how much of a missed chance the police had. They could have stopped him and investigated him, but they felt that doing so would jeopardize project Traveller and decided not to. I wonder if they really don't have the evidence to go after him now.

he's combating an allegation that he feels is false, there is no correlation between that and randomly talking with coworkers about such topics.

I'm not sure what your strategy is on defending this point. There were people offended by what he said, and yes you can argue that they're too easily offended by sex, but anyone can respond to that by pointing out that his voting base is made up of people more likely to be offended by sex.

It's a stupid off-the-cuff remark in a long line of gaffes. I don't think there's much else to it.

I love the total assumption of charity towards Ford's conduct but the coy unawareness towards the rest of human civilization as to why they're offput by him.

"Mr. Ford, you've said that you have plenty to eat at home and yet undercover surveillance has revealed that you haven't actually orally serviced your wife in many months, how do you respond?!"

Does this circus ever end?

Ford was confronted this morning by the throng of reporters about the allegations in the court documents yesterday. Live on CP24 he said he's suing the former staffers in the documents. He said he's happily married, that he has "plenty of pussy to eat at home".

Reporters were shocked by the language, the CP24 reporter was flabbergasted.

I can't believe he said this. I feel like to can't be real but I know it's true. Now going to read through the rest of the thread to see what else
I've missed.

the allegation was about him saying that he wants to eat the box of a staffer while drunk

I don't know how "I didn't eat her pussy, I'm happily married - I have more than enough to eat at home" is a worthy rebuttal to that accusation

He could have said "the allegations of my sexual misconduct are false". Simple, to the point, and clear. Instead he said "I never ate that pussy, I got plenty to eat at home". They didn't go up to the mayor and ask him "is it true That you ate that lady's pussy?".

Even if they did, the professional statement to name would be the same.

He's just crass and unprofessional, and more than it being reflective of his ability to do his job (it is, a large part of the mayor's job is to not sound ridiculous in public) it just reminds everyone how absolutely clueless this guy is, and it's really humorous and embarrassing at the same time.

Maybe he should just stop speaking to reporters except to say 'no comment' and then hire someone to write any public speeches he needs to give from here on. He clearly can't control his own mouth whenever he opens it.

Did a bunch of comments in this thread get deleted? I was going to respond to the poster who was trying to defend calling Ford's wife a "Gollum" but the original (and my reply) are gone.
