I don't mind Felicity Jones per se but she looks a bit too similar to Rey here. And the character seems very similarly written too. I wonder if casual moviegoers will get confused. I think they should have gone with an older actress but I guess that doesn't fly in Hollywood.
 
Little disappointed, from what I saw in the teaser shots I assumed it was going to be more of a "War story" that was set in the Star Wars universe.

Guess not.

Hayden is actually 1" taller than Bob Anderson who was Vader for the lightsaber fights in ESB and ROTJ, and they made that work. But I would think if they are going to bring back Christensen, it's to show his face. Or he was really adamant about being in the suit, he does have that experience afterall. GL had no plans for him to put it on in ROTS but Christensen was very vocal about it. They of course added lifts to give him extra height.
 
I am so incredibly biased against SW, but that looked kinda decent.

Was that bearded dude suppose to be Kyle?

Kyle is like the only SW character I like.
 
So...I thought this was going to be an ensemble. A team mission. The trailer barely even mentions a team and makes it look like it's just about the girl. Not necessarily bad, but not what I expected.

They're also going hard in the paint for an ESB tone on this. Is it all like this or was the trailer cut to emphasize the serious stuff? Interesting.
 
I felt nothing. I think the movie will be good and I'm still excited, but that's the first time I've seen a new Star Wars trailer and didn't freak out.

God damn. Even though I think a Young Han Solo movie is about the 80th most interesting thing they could do with this universe. I just love how much Star Wars is going to be in my life.

Milk away! I'll be there opening day for every single one.
 
I don't like prejudging things
But golly gee gosh I think this looks bad. Something about the framing is so dull, I'm not saying its on that level (HOLD UP!!) but it reminds me of every high budget Star Wars fan film I've ever seen. Don't misquote me.

Errant thought: Its nice to know that Stormtrooper armor is useless against melee attacks as well as blasters. It really cements their jobber mookness

There's a shot of pretty much all the characters in that original photo they released. Looks like Jyn will be the focus but It is only a brief teaser after all.

Only negative - ATATs looked a bit goofy somehow. Not sure why. Looked too CGish.

They are a "new" design introduced in the series Star Wars: Rebels. They are actually the original McQuarrie design. They have them look like that to emphasize the early/rough models before they got to their "superior" form.

Well it is a teaser trailer, not a full trailer. Jyn is definitely the main character though regardless. Could be the full trailer and subsequent trailers will detail the rest of the crew more, but for now I think it makes sense to just focus on the lead in this kind of short-ish teaser.
 
Damn, that trailer was awesome. I honestly wasn't expecting much from this movie, but it looks far better than I thought it would.

I don't see a connection at all. They're not even grammatically similar.

"I rebel" is just a statement, rebel is a verb.

"I, Jedi" is just a utilizing trope for titles. Likely coming from Asimov's "I, robot."
 
Does anyone know what's up with the black-armored Stormtroopers? Are they like Imperial Special Forces? Are they new for this film, or something from the expanded universe?

Honestly, I thought it was gonna be an ensemble piece too, but the teaser doesn't really make it seem that way.

It's a teaser. We'll get more of the story and the ensemble in a full trailer
 
Didn't expect the aesthetic to be so dark.

Looks cool, I liked episode 7 but felt it played too safe and retreaded old material. Hope these spin off sequels are allowed to be more.
 
Holy crap did they like clone the actress that originally played Mon Mothma?!

I love how the tone is completely different from the mainline films.
