Rumor: GTA Online Heist missions details and new DLC

This will be fun until R* decides we are playing it too much and nerfs all reward and doubles the mission length.

This is why the glitching, workaround and exploits fascinated me so much. The fun of GTA has always been breaking the law/the rules, and giving the finger to the extensive restrictions R* put into GTA:O was so much fun.

If you are expecting good representation of people.... in a GTA game, I just don't know why you are looking there.

There is nothing in GTA other than satire and stereotypes.
I'm aware, but there are sympathetic male characters and very few sympathetic female characters.

Yep, pretty much. We're supposed to sympathize with Michael having to deal with his nag of a wife and annoying daughter (well at least they made the son annoying too, heh). What female are we supposed to sympathize with? They could have made the wife more sympathetic but she's being used to prop up Michael and make him sympathetic (with good writing they could have made both sympathetic, she doesn't have to be a cardboard cut out of nag/shallow/only wants money wife trope).

*sigh* Yeah. I love GTA V but it seems these kind of games in general insist that it is a hallmark they treat females like crap. I wouldn't even mind if they also had some females they actually gave decent writing to. And don't say it's a parody. They still give good writing to the main characters (as in they get dimension given to them) but even the females in the main characters' life get treated as cardboard cutouts of "oh look, women are either obnoxious nags to create stress in the male character's life or strippers/hookers and sometimes both." (actually the strippers don't bug me at all. What bugs me is how they portray the main female characters honestly).

Besides, the women being parodied in GTA doesn't come off as parody as in "this image is wrong, look how ridiculous it is". It comes off as parody as in "this is so true but we exagerated it some to make it funny".
Yeah, I completely agree with this. GTA's "satire" is like the video game equivalent of Banksy; popular opinions expressed visually that everyone somehow thinks is an incredibly poignant social critique (example: the whole "LifeInvader" thing. Wow, people are using Facebook too much).

When it comes to the men, their "parody" ends up creating likeable, cool characters that people want to see more of. When it comes to the women? Well, it says something that the general player reaction is "Wow, Michael's wife is such a bitch,
I'm glad she leaves him
" etc.

I think Michael's wife was fine. they're both nuts who fell in love for the wrong reasons. Simple as that.

i dont want cops vs robbers... i just want some good old co-op heists like the campaign... :(

Same here. :(
I was expecting online heists to basically be the same as the big heists in the campaign, but co-op with amigos, instead of the AI squad. Some of these scenarios could be fun, but hype deflated.

Haven't played gta5 yet, but is this basically cops and crooks returning in a way from gta4? When they say cops and robbers can join, does this mean that cops are player controlled as well? I skipped On gta5 because they took the best mode out from the previous version. If his is true I'm getting it for the xbox one :)

If this is true and they don't plan to add any co-op heists, then with the information we have we can form a competent timeline of sorts on what happened to the dlc. Well if you go back and watch the gameplay trailer again and read the last hands on I think it was pretty clear that the mission(s) shown were not PVP. The heists seemed to be advanced jobs were you could set up who would do what beforehand in an interface. So what I think happened, again assuming that it isn't still coming, is Rockstar had to make a choice. The Jobs were playable and likely very close to done, but then the job spamming happened at launch, and they realized that money was more important then delivering content. So they scrapped the jobs and went back to the drawing board in an effort not to ruin their micotransaction cashcow. Likely the conclusion was if they gimped the payout or the replayabilty that would only piss people off, even more than they already had, so instead they made them PVP.

The cops and robbers stuff would be great as a separate thing (love the idea of battling over a prisoner in a transport van), but not having PVE heists would be fucking disappointing.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting in a empty Capture room for thirty minutes.

The one thing that super bugs me about GTA online is when sometimes you join a Deathmatch,All the players D/C for some stupid reason and you win the match by default. I don't know if its my connection or what not but its still super annoying.

I think the part where she brings up the time when he shagged a hooker (which was what caused her to start cheating on him), and he responds by laughing it off is meant to make her more sympathetic. They should've made it more clear. Instead, she and the family gets pushed into the background, and she just comes across as a gold-digging bitch for the majority of the story.

It was but they have finally gotten most of that out and we are left with a fraction of the money. I'm finally to the point where I look at something I want to buy and I realize it will take more time than I want to grind it out. You can still make SOME good money but it's either luck of just playing a playlist of the same events over and over forever.

Right now I'm getting most of my money just from bounties and armored cars

edit: It really sucks for people who didn't play a ton of the game right away or anyone who joins now. I was in a lobby with 5 people running around in tanks. They were just mowing down low level players...where's the fun in that. It's going to be a problem when they put out the new versions and more people join online. I've been having fun gifting cash and weapons to noobs and cutting down tanks for fun.

smh, so matchmaking is still broken eh? I'd play the game if I could consistently get deathmatches going.

PS3 Free Aim is basically a single player game for me. I still play but there is a ton of content I don't see because of matchmaking.

This honestly makes the most sense. Especially as I was wondering how they are going to push people to buy MTs if they are making a ton of money from heists. Especially since it's obvious they don't like it when something is too lucrative... and yet promising to bring something that would be very lucrative... ?

And one more thing to point out why MTs for anything that advances you in the game in any way is not something gamers should be ok with. It's not even the cost factor/greed factor, it's the it encourages developers to compromise gameplay in order to push more MT sales. I'd rather they find a way to get money that encouraged them to make gameplay as fun as possible instead.

I think the part where she brings up the time when he shagged a hooker (which was what caused her to start cheating on him), and he responds by laughing it off is meant to make her more sympathetic. Which kind of proves my point, they just put token effort into it at best. It obviously wasn't that important to them to try to make her a well rounded character and she mostly serves to be the cardboard cutout of gold digging bitch/nag. If they had put some effort or had better writers they could have made her as sympathetic as the main male characters and still have her serve her purpose as a stress point in Michael's life.

It was but they have finally gotten most of that out and we are left with a fraction of the money. Heh, as much as I bitch about the other stuff above, this is my biggest complaint with GTA V online, it's players ;). I would love to find more players whose fun isn't griefing everyone weaker than them (I don't even get it, if the person is proving to be no match to you, wouldn't it get boring after a while?). I honestly think Rockstar should have let people vote people into the bad sport server or at least off the server they are on if they kill them more than three times without the other person killing them back. It means the griefers have to actually worry about payback and worry if the person is having as much fun as they are rather than have fun at the expense of someone cause it's fun to the to frustrate some one.

(and btw, As much as I am complaining here I do actually love this game, it would have been my GOTY last year if it weren't for TLOU. Doesn't mean it doesn't have its flaws though).

No one is reading the OP. This is supposed to be out in the next few weeks, titled "Independence Day". Not next-gen related.

According to him, it will be titled Independence Day Pack, and is said to arrive just in time for the 4th of July Holiday. We don’t know the content of the pack, but it will allegedly include items related with the Independence Day such as fireworks.

Here's the weapons I was talking about

.

Is that chrome pistol near the knife the High Power Pistol from Red Dead Redemption?

I didn't realize their online hosts were all going to be PvP and not co-op against AI (assuming this is true). Well looks like I'm never going to bother playing any of them.
Shit, you're right. I only glanced at the list of modes and didn't realize they were all PVP.

I hope this isn't the case. I've always played the online modes of Rockstar games for co-op, or other modes that weren't directly adversarial (Mafiya Work).

Exactly! these modes sound great and all but in reality it's really hard to get a full room, ehh I look forward to it anyways.

What's the status on Gaf crew these days on 360?

Makes the online a potential shit show with auto-lock on and camping at players exists in their apartments.

Hope they will revamp the gameplay aspects of the game for the next GTA game.

They should just stop including auto aim in their fucking games. They ruined the Max Payne 3 MP community by splitting it with two aim modes, and it ruined the difficulty balance of V because they designed it around the player using auto aim.

I think the implication is that the Independence Day DLC is supposed to be separate from the online heists.
