I tried to watch since I'm big One Piece fan but it just felt wrong.

One Piece is very cartoony almost loony toon.


Live action just doesn't fit it….at least for me.
 
A trans? Common sense is back why continue to force twisted gender ideology. I hope this is not true. Usually this type casting rumor it does not come true. Why not Sydney Sweeney? She is more familiar with gaming

With Roger Rabbit still animated character in live action but with One Piece it felt like movie about people cosplaying as One Piece characters.

I'm sorry I just couldn't get in to One Piece live action.

Oh, I thought you meant the over the top moments (especially with Luffy), because that stuff just reminded me of movies like The Mask.
 
For her own sanity, and her (as well as her family's) mental wellbeing, I hope she declines the offer (and that too in private, preventing even leaks, like her manager privately declining any offers with some stupid reason like dates not being available or something), even if it is directly from Nintendo (which I don't think would happen).

Luffy is character I known from most of my life with his iconic design but seeing him as live action it just NOT the same character.

It like Bugs Bunny but as actual person wearing his costume and trying act like him….that would be fucking weird, that's basically how I feel about One Piece as a live action.

Zelda is one of my favourite game franchise. I absolutely have no hope for this movie
 
Well... the original Peter Pan musical in 1960, Peter Pan was played by a woman.
The design for Link was originally inspired by Peter Pan so maybe we are going full circle here. Now Zelda will be played by a man and Link will be played by a woman?

EDIT: Also Nintendo themselves made cross-dressing Link canon, just saying....

myself, i feel exactly this way about the last tomb raider trilogy, uncharted 4, & god of war 2018: up until these games, lara croft, nate drake & kratos were fundamentally cartoon characters, imo. with these games, they were transformed into 'people' (yeah, i know, kratos is a god, but you know what i mean). i think it comes off as dissonant, awkward, & miserable in all instances. it doesn't 'mature' these characters, it reduces them...
 
I'm sorry, but if a CIS actress isn't allowed to play a trans woman than the reverse is also true. Let's treat everyone the same please.

But yeah, zero chance Nintendo chooses that person.
