Fat Louie? Fat Louie! I don't even understand yet what I need to do but I'm just shooting people, exploding cars and recklessly driving through the city. Oh, and it seems that when I turn off V-Sync that stops the freezes that I was getting. And I have not yet encountered any screen tearing. Good times!

I really love this game. Beating the campaign included some of the most fun I've ever had in a sandbox game, and look forward to buying all the DLC, but fuck the side missions. The vehicle thefts are the most infuriating and least fun missions I have played in this franchise.

Stealing fragile helicopters and planes with a 4 or 5 star wanted level is a pain in the ass, especially as you're usually tasked with flying across the whole map while bullets ricochet off you from nowhere. Taking the tornado helicopter from a military base is hard enough without the game also frequently deselecting the mission after I get into the helicopter.

I think I got lucky with the military helicopter thing. Though it took me a while to start because it kept getting destroyed before I could get to it somehow. I did mine in one attempt once I actually stole it. Kept going up and down and trying to dodge while speeding towards the drop.

For others like the Stag buffalo I got lucky and was able to steal one from the heat I already had from a previous drop off and just moved it 10 feet for the win.

I should try the others now that I beat the game.

I beat the game and have been enjoying the sandbox. You know, have a bad day at work, load up SR3, and just cause mayhem to see how much chaos you can create without dying.

The last time I played the game, I noticed a I wass speeding around the city, weaving in and out of traffic, I would overtake random cars that were on fire. No gangs around, no accidents, nothing that would dictate something crazy was going on.

So I chalked it up to the previous hour of ultra violence which had permeated the world's A.I. as if shit was just going down on its own.

Best moments for me in this game is when the A.I. tries to one up my stupidity/violence/pranks/craziness.

Thanks Volition, I hope your next iteration on this I.P. continues to be nutso.

You can use your phone to get police forgiveness during the thefts if you want, saved me some frustration on one of the boat thefts.

Just finished the game. Saw both endings. Great stuff. Probably my GOTY. (havent finished Batman or even started Uncharted though)

One little thing. I had no idea Hulk Hogan voiced Angel. lol

Just beated all secondary missions (worst ones for me where the 2 last Kenzie scort with helicopter ones) and im at the last missions of the campaign.
HOLY SHIT
murderbrawl
mission. When you start to hear
You are the best! song with the chainsaw
Holy shit indeed. Too bad they dont use it in the whole fight.

The heli missions were fine for me, the only real offense was that they were all pretty easy.

The trafficking missions are easily the worst of all the activities for me, having a constant stream of Brutes and specialists come in and then having to stop at certain points made it impossible at lower levels for me. And then having to find a new car constantly because your ride will get wrecked almost certainly at a drop off point because of said Brutes and specialists and your dumb AI partner not getting in the car is just all around bad.

Genki's is undoubtedly the best of the side missions, real good sense of replay value and love the commentary provided. Would like to see more mission packs of that with better mazes and new weapons for it.

Mmm, i found more torublesome the last two scort missions (the rest were really easy). In that missions ive seen the cpu cheat as mad. Cars going too fast to chase the car you are protecting, and bazzoka missiles that seemed to be guided and were thrown from large distances and hit the car, the problem is ysometimes the missiles came from cars you couldnt see in the map yet.
Had some samll problems with the fire brutes in the trafficking ones, but the were not really hard. And they also are really fun thanks to the dialogs of Pierce and Zimos.

Im the only one who thinks that Kenzie's character could have been a little bit better? Do her more nerdie for fun. I think the issolation aspect of her didnt make as fun dialogs as the rest of the characters have. But I liked her deckers.must.die mission.

Co-op is pure excellence and non-stop hilarity. Example:

Me: *calls in tricked up Bootlegger* Don't worry, I've got this one.
Him: Oh, I beg to differ. *tank comes rolling around the corner and smashes into Bootlegger*

We had a few disconnections but it was really smooth for the most part.

Dammit, why did I just pay for cheat codes? THQ have robbed me of my pride. Anyways, do they conflict with achievements?

n/m they do

Dead

well not really...yet
What happened to the so called 40 weeks of DLC anyways

I would have gladly bought new crap if it was out this week or last :(

Is there some trick to getting car torpedo damage for the challenge? It's currently at 592/2000 and no matter how many car torpedoes I do, it doesn't change. Hope it's not a bug.

Has anybody had issues with the escort missions? I'm on the very last one I need to do to polish off all the activities. Every time it asks me to power slide for 1 second, I do it, and it doesn't detect that I have. I've restarted the mission. I've ended it and started again. I've quit the game and loaded it. I've restarted the 360 and still no matter what, it never detects the power slide.

Either I'm really stupid and missing something, or it's not working. I've done all the one before this fine, so I'm lead to believe it's the former.

Edit:

Just let your vehicle hit a wall and only a wall. If it hits people, cars, lamp posts etc it doesn't seem to count for whatever reason.

It will sometimes. I got one up to like 800% because the car got wedged on a knocked down lamp post and another car against a wall and dumpster but was still going forward somehow. I went up a building to pick up some sex dolls and when I came back it was still doing it before the other car finally blew up.

Here are those stats in English that we shared yesterday from approximately the first two weeks of data.

- More than 2 million people have been bludgeoned to death by the Penetrator so far.

- 5.8 BILLION citizens of Steelport have met their demise while roaming around town. That's 19 times the population of the US, or 85% of the population of the world.

- Players have spent a cumulative 2 years in their birthday suits streaking the streets of Steelport and making old ladies scream.

- In Whored Mode, 44 million pimps, gimps, and prostitutes have been dispatched (Note: This does not include mascots, or question mark assassins).

- 650 hot dog mascots have been overcooked to death by players using flamethrowers.

YES. Just have a save from right before you enable them, because cheats will RUIN YOUR WORLD FOREVER (No Achievements).
Is there any way to know if a save has had cheats used on it? I seem to remember from the SR2 days, there would be a star to let you know.

I HATE the Snatch missions.

"Hey, go recruit these prostitutes! But don't let too many of them die or you will fail? Oh yeah, you'll get a four star gang wanted level almost immediately with brutes and specialists that rampage through whatever area you're in, guaranteeing that every single hooker you attempt to recruit will die. Have fun!"

Awesome, on that note i really wish whored mode was four player.

The activities are a lot easier once you have all the upgrades.

Haha. Fucking awesome.

What's it gonna take to get an Iron Man style suit in this game? That would pretty much make it my GOTF. Mechs of some design would also be awesome.

Sorry if that been covered in the early pages, but how is ps3 performance overall?
Digital Foundry said overall it was better than the 360. So, it should be fine.
When it comes down to the final analysis of the console versions it's all about compromises when deciding which one to go for, but if we had to choose between the two we'd take the PS3 release for the lack of screen tearing, seeing as this has far more impact on your enjoyment of the game than the drop in image quality. Alternatively, if the 360 version is your only option, by all means pick it up instead - the content is identical between releases and most of the fun comes from the madcap antics on offer. The technical issues - while unfortunate - aren't deal-breakers.

So I bought this today because I'd got a little bored of Skyrim's dungeons and dragons. Steam is downloading some patch at the moment and when that's done I'll be ready to go. Any tips before I dive in?

As soon as the city opens up I would make it a priority to buy all the stores all over town. They give you money every 20 minutes, and also provide a safe haven (makes your wanted level with gangs and police go away). After you buy all the stores, I would suggest buying all the real estate properties which earn you money but don't give you safe haven.

Money is very important in this game as all your weapon upgrades, personal upgrades (like perks) and vehicle upgrades (performance, durability) cost a fair amount.

I was in facebook the other day, and wrote that sains row 3 was awesome, a friend respond that he was waiting for it all this time, and now that he had it he didnt like it becuase of bugs another shitty things, I said that I didnt had any problems that he had with my pc version and he told it was a ps3 version. After the POWER mission he wrote again saying that the game bugs were still bad and it was really shitty, but that he was starting to have a blast with the game and was having a lot of fun, now he is in the middle of the game and he really likes it, but he tells me he would like to see my PC version.

So I dont know if its really that good, and if the 360 perfomance is worse I dont really want to know how is that.

As a plus notice, DONT FINISH (make all the zone your gangs home) ANY ZONES BEFORE YOU HAVE ALL THE THINGS DONE (like the mission achivements). With the zones occupied by rival gangs you will have a much easier time getting all this small missions, and you will have more fun when walking around town. Also, dont buy any perks a getting less star level with rival gangs. You only need the forgiveness call for cops perk for the stealing helicopter missions, and its use is only temporary.

Get a friend to play co-op with you. Co-op is a shitload of fun.
