Saying Good bye to the Playstation Family! Sold my PSN accont.

I still have hope in PlayStation (believe it or not) so I won't abandon their ecosystem.

Good stuff that you got some money back, but selling accounts is probably illegal (according to Sony at least) so they might ban person who bought it from you if they find out (there was thread recently),

Why sell you PSN account ? First of all its illegal

I've been wanting to sell my PS4 and Psn account to leave this ecosystem for a long time, but they always release great exclusive games at the end of each generation, and they manage to convince me again. However, due to their PC strategy this time, I'm more determined to resist. I'm not crazy about GTA either, so for now, I'm happy with my PC.

I actually felt that way too. I asked my friend the other day, "Did you log into your PS5 today, did you see the launch screen? (It was the 30th anniversary)." And he was like, "No, I haven't taken my PS5 out of my closet in a year. What's in there?"

And I started thinking about how much I play the PS5, and I realized I haven't gotten to the point where I put it in my closet yet, but I don't play it much either. Maybe once every few months. There's really no point in turning on the PS5 these days.

Happy for you if it's what you need or wanted. Funny though how I made the opposite decision and went back to the PlayStation eco system when the PS5 Pro released and boy am I loving this casual no-nonsense gaming. Switch performance didn't cut it and PC gaming became too much of a hassle for me.

But hey, you do you! I guess this just shows how all of these decisions, navigating the gaming hobby, are super personal.

Why not just keep all the consoles? I never got this mindset. I remember people doing this in the ps360 era. Did you not have many games on it?

If I got rid of mine that would be loosing 200+ games as I've had psn since inception. Plus all the physical ps4 titles. I play older games though. I go back to games 5,10,20, 30 years later.

Can't see selling, taking a major loss and wanting to play something you now can't.

I have been a PSN member for nearly a decade and had a decent Digital Library connected to my account. Lately Sony and the Playstation has just left a sour taste in my mouth. PS+ prices are absolutely nuts, There are very few good games releasing on the Platform, along with Sony has been anti consumer recently. Selling the PS5 next and rolling with the PC/Switch Combo. To be Honest, I could not tell you one game outside of GTA 6 (that may and probably get delayed to 2026) that I look forward too that is coming to the PS5. What happened to Sony and the Strong first party lineups? Now it's wasting time on doing shitty Horizon Zero Dawn remakes that nobody wanted. I predicted Sony would have a bad decade starting a year or two ago and it is not looking pretty for Sony.

If Valve decides to enter the race it's going to be a real problem but that is just speculation.
YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH BRO

I always keep my consoles even if I don't use them much. You never know when there'll be game you really want to play. PS5 is probably my most least used PS console but it's already had enough worthwhile games that make it worth owning. Even xbox series is worth it just for the BC alone.

I can absolutely understand! They've only announced garbage that will also be available on PC (where the games are cheaper and look better). Exclusive, brilliant titles are nowhere to be found…

I'll work through my backlog and get GTA 6.

I've already bought PC parts and will build a gaming PC in February despite owning a PS5 Pro. Combined with my PSVR2, it's going to be the most awesome setup.

PS4 Sony is history.

It's true that they don't have strong first party line up , but their third party exclusives deals keeps the ball rolling , I don't care where the exclusives are coming from as long as they keep on coming

I understand. A while ago I realized that virtually every game I have played (18 out of 20) is also released on PS4. The PS5 version is just a higher resolution PS4 game. I almost sold off my PS5 since I still have my PS4 Pro.

The PS6 is going to need some seriously unique, actual next-gen, and exclusive games for me to continue.

I'm kind of glad I have a PSN account with some thirty games that I might revisit if I ever purchase Playstation again.

Why should we care? And I have a Steam account I didn't touch a single time since 2019. Should I sell it?

Wow and we said you don't own your digital games and can't resell them. Chad just wakes up day, says "you can't make me not own this", and takes matters into his own alpha hands.

I hope he got enough money for the PSN account to cover his next Donkey Kong remake.

I bought physical mostly all the way up to the PS5. Then I had PS plus essentials and owned none of them. Turns out PS plus essentials is nothing more than an expensive rental service.
So basically you bought very few digital games in a decade and someone went out of their way to buy an account with few games on it. 500$ worth of games is not a lot for a PSN account.

Like it was mentioned already, this post had another motive behind it :)

On whose behalf?

Sounds like a solid deal to me lol

Stupid deal for the buyer, imo. If I'm taking all the risk then I'd want more in return. But maybe that's the going rate. Whole thing seems silly to me, but not my money thankfully

I'm pretty meh on the PS5 myself but not ready to make the jump to the dark side. I'm hoping Gabe will meet me halfway with a Steam Box in a few years. Until then, I'll remain a proud console peasant.

A known PS moaner tells everyone he's leaving the ecosystem he complains about all the time. Where did you sell it to?

Yes Playstation doesnt plan on releasing any first part games just because they havent announced them. Sony might has well close up the generation and let 3rd party deal with the game side of things lol

If you're not excited for stuff like Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Wolverine, Naughty Dog's next game then you what during the PS4 era made you stay?

Selling your PlayStation is the easiest thing to do since Sony has been porting games to PC, at the end of the day you're not losing anything.

Correct. I paid for my PSN Account ~ 20% and never would have paid 50%.

I did the same but it was just going back to a regular ps5 from pc gaming. To much nonsense on pc.

Most likely, they've started long-term projects like Microsoft, cause it feels like there's catch-22 in the future whoever trying to compete with Microsoft, they forseen the mess that's happening before anyone else, that's what rich people do, they wait for the right cause to make their move.

Yea,I haven't gamed at all this gen,I may be done for good(I'm 51)......nothing is exciting me about gaming these days, although I still love the medium.I just wish AAA game design would evolve,it's all so fucking stale. This isn't thread worthy news though, lol.
