Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (Dir. Wright, Cera, Kendrick, Evans, Schwartzman)

Well I said what the movie needed more than anything else was more time in the park in their first date, so I'm interested to see what else is there. Those scenes are short so I hope they cut them because it didn't work out right and now just for time. A few more minutes on the first date and I think the whole relationship in the movie becomes way more believable.

Eh it doesn't kill anyone, they just all pass out for a while.

The movie sure could use more Crash and the Boys though.
Oh I'm aware, but they always call it the song that kills the audience :D

Oh shit, looks like Amazon is having a sale on the books, bundles, BD and DVD. :D

Nice. :D

Quick question though:

On amazon, is it possible to set your orders so that they'll release all at once? I have Scott Pilgrim on blu-ray preordered, but i also want to get Hot Fuzz and Shaun of The Dead. Is there a way i can buy those two now, and set it so that they'll ship once Scott Pilgrim ships?

Yes. You can choose to have your entire order ship together.

I don't get how the Blu Ray is on sale. When i pre-ordered it (like 4 weeks ago), it was still at $26 bucks.

Same. And the books are cheap, but they've been that cheap for at least a month. I guess they stocked a lot of them and then the movie didn't generate the demand they wanted...

I ordered it on October 6 and the price was $26.99. My order total is now -$1 because of Amazon's price guarantee. Awesome.

BadassDigest.com's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Blu-ray Review (and Contest)

Rating = Awesome. Also, Roger Ebert finally answered the question of why he didn't review the movie:

Q. Why haven't you reviewed "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World?" While it certainly underperformed at the Box Office, given your (embarrassingly) tumultuous relationship with Video Games, it would seem like fertile ground for a nuanced and controlled critique of video game culture and its effects on other forms of media. (Christian Russo)

A. Video games rank low on the list of tumultuous relationships I feel embarrassed about, but I've been amazed how often I've been asked your question. I took a month's leave to work on my memoirs, and alas didn't see "Scott Pilgrim." I still sleep of nights.

It's funny how much I disliked the comics and just overall look of this film months ago (despite my love for Edgar Wright).

Now I'm hooked on this series right now and God damn, movie was one of my favorites of the year. Definitely the best of the summer. :D

It's been so long that I might be hypeless by now. Why did they delay this movie so bad in Europe?
I don't know. How big is Scott Pilgrim in Europe?

Even if you're not hyped anymore, go and see it. It's awesome.

Man, I tried but I just couldn't get into this movie. Maybe I'm too old or something -- or just not a hipster.

Somebody's late to the "wind up Scott Pilgrim fans" party. Find something else to troll, maybe you should be in the Christina Hendricks threads calling her fat...

You should play count the references in the movie.
So many from Street Fighter, to No More Heroes, to Final Fantasy...

Not to mention the bunch of Zelda references in the first quarter of the movie, they were my favourite. When Scott opened the door and the cave opening sound played I could have clapped :lol

Oh wow, it is finally coming to the cinema in The Netherlands, 25th of November. Strangely enough, my cinema lists it as a drama movie, people are in for a surprise.

:lol Too bad I'm not into Zelda. As a fighting game enthusiast, I still had a blast watching the movie. Unfortunately I hear it did poorly at the box office. I would've loved to see a sequel.

I know right! :lol It's silly to finally see this movie turn up in magazines after 4 months... I really wonder what could've been the problem. I'll probably be seeing the bluray before it even hits. Though I still want to see it in theatres. I'm that stupid.

Yeah, few months ago I was like all hyped to see this movie and recommending it to friends who loved it too. And then I checked when it would appear in the cinema and I was very disappointed.

Just watched the film having seen nothing of the comic or trailers or any media coverage whatsoever.

Same. Well, i played the xbla game

I admit I developed a mad crush on Knives Chau/Ellen Wong the moment I saw her and I spent most of the film hating SP and the fact he ditched her for someone else

Same here, with Knives being so adorable, developing some sympathy for the main characters and their story was hard, but the movie was great, rich with charming touches and very original cinematography.

guess what kids

finally saw it, for the first time ever, fuck my country.

I really liked it, although there were some things that seemed a bit weird. Not gonna get too much into it since you guys already discussed it to death.

Pacing was a bit awkward, started great and then went into overdrive. Nega-Scott's purpose could be missed if you didnt read the comics. The ending felt a bit rushed and confusing (ramona then knives then ramona then..), Scott didnt seemed as interested, it was kind of a "meh" situation. There were also not as many videogame references as i hope there would be :lol (besides sound queues) but yeah the dream sequence makes up for it.

Overall a great movie, wouldnt say its a dissapointment since the good beats the bad.

Oh and the cast was just perfect.

watched it again (4th time).

It's odd, I completely love the movie while I'm watching it. But after, I don't know how I feel about. I felt the same way about Shaun and Fuzz. Extremely technically impressive, but don't feel much after it is over.
