Very gratified to see this happening. Hopefully there isn't some kind of crazed armed response on the part of the White House where the offending judge gets rounded up and vanishes into the night.

I'm having trouble finding the specifics on this, and I'm curious. The federal judge ruled this unconstitutional? If so, what exact provisions are in breach? Just trying to get a legal handle on it.

His opinion has not been released yet, I'm going by the AG/SG saying trumps act was unconstitutional and they specifically mentioned the constitution

Even if by some anti-miracle this gets struck down in a higher court, it should still do a lot of good. Hopefully everyone who needs to get home can do so.

Say Trump and company lose the battle on this (which I'm sure they will if it goes to court). Where do they go from here? Someone there clearly wants this to be a thing, so what lengths will they go to, to stop "the evil Muslims" from entering our country?

I'm hoping this win is actually a win, and not some sort of ammunition to draft something worse in response.

They will start targeting other people.

I'm not even sure the Supreme Court would rule in favor of an EO this blatantly unconstitutional, if it goes that far.

The worse response would be shifting to more draconian domestic measures and ideas like the muslim registry.

But as that already seems like it could be in the cards I wouldn't chalk it up to the muslim ban failing. And if this falls from court action, I'd only imagine the courts would be extra primed to take the fight to them when it comes to issues affecting Americans at large. And I'd be glad for it, because it would only be a matter of time to see extreme vetting directed at wider and wider circles within the country.

Gotta stay super vigilant. Terrorism can so easily be used to justify power creep and to water down rights.

Which would make him look weak to the nation and to himself. It will drive him bonkers if he got more draconian and the courts just keep slapping it down.

There's actually a good chance of this.

If they can't selectively target people from certain (Muslim) countries, they may make requirements for visiting the US, or getting a green card really hard to get for everyone. That doesn't go against the constitution, and the president has the ability to set those conditions.

First tragedy, then farce.

Business community won't allow that. It's why he picked these countries in the first place. Minimum business impact.

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
So is it true that this will be heard in the 9th circuit? If so, good luck with that

I think the court will rule the government can prevent new Visas, but does not have enough evidence to deport or cancel existing visas.

The GOP would not even back him on that as that would disrupt their corporate overlords massively. He'd have to go to war with them so everyone would win.

Yeah no chance. Trump is already learning the hard way that there's consequences to these things.

While it's true that the supreme court tilts on the conservative side, there is still a difference between conservative and batshit crazy.

That won't happen. The 7 countries are basically at the bottom of the list of economical impact. If they start banning countries left and right it will get very bad. In fact I would be not be surprised if we see some sanctions coming. Big corporate companies will also flex their muscles with hundreds of lawsuits asking for damage compensation. International ties will reduce decades of corporations. The American economy will take a major hit that will create shock waves through the country.

No we don't. Look below that were we let him know what they said.

Oh, good. Though I was also thinking of the appeal process too and not just that. As has been said, hopefully if it makes it up to the Supreme Court, they stop it too, this EO is incredibly unconstitutional.

The fact that he pretty much said "Obey Trump, you fucking peasants" made it really scary.

Then again, that motherfucker looks insane, so there's that too.
He doesn't look insane. Sean Spicer looks like 4 seconds into a 30 second "human boss character transforming into his monster form" cutscene.
