Fantastic stuff OP. Feels motivated.
Here are mine.
1. The Yamato. A weapon worthy of it's name, derived from 8th century Japan, which means Japanese. The moveset of Yamato in 3&4 one of the best designed in action games till date with the right sense of balance with enemy AI. The mixups it opens up, depending upon style & the second weapon, are insane in 3 and takes it to a whole new level in 4 since it's real-time. The others in the same league are The Dragon Sword / True Dragon Sword from Ninja Gaiden and the Shuraba from Bayonetta for some high level gameplay.
Honorable mentions
Ifrit - Though the moveset of Beowulf is way better than ifrit, the design of the weapon trumps beowulf. I soooo wanted the beowulf moveset for Ifrit, perhaps we'll get one in the inveitable "5".
Alastor - The definitive sword of Dante before Itsuno took over. A bland moveset, yes, with a couple of a neutrals but hey, it was the game that kickstarted the series. Wish they could retcon the The Rebellion a little bit and have the Alastor as the sword Sparda truly envisioned for Dante to use (fully unlock his power etc) with the entire rebellion vanilla + swordmaster moveset.
2. The Pizza topping for me would be Chicken and pepperoni and ABOLUTELY NO ANCHOVIES DUUUDE.
Here's my motivation
*A wild and clueless hell vanguard appears*
Yamato out of the sheath
Yamato back in the sheath
Dust settles on
Turn my swag on.
