Should Sony release their GAAS games on Xbox?

Seems like it could be a good move for Sony both financially and to get more MAUs if they released their GAAS games on Gamepass. Get MS money and an increased player base.

No. Because right now with Xbox not looking great, is the time when Sony can make a hard sell to convince Xbox owners to buy PlayStations. Similar to what happened as Sega was failing.

Good thing some of you do not run these companies. You would run them into the ground by diluting your product....

No. Now is the perfect time to convince Xbox owners to buy a PS5/PC.

Less effort developing a game for just 2 platforms. The Xbox is dying no point extending it's life support. Especially when Xbox has been so hostile over the years.

Why should it be gamepass? It would be smart to get the Xbox players to BUY the games.

No, Xbox will have Call of Duty in game pass day one. Why would Sony want to give them other good live service games?

Having call of duty launch in game pass will hit Sonys pockets hard so I doubt they are interested in helping Xbox in anyway lol

No? The pay-off is too small to be worth any risk, even if the risk is relatively small.

It will only happen if they somehow hit a growth wall and someones bonus ends up tied to showing-off user growth to the investors, in this scenario i can see it being the last resort to help achieve it.

It'd make more sense if Xbox had a huge user base.

At this point it seems Sony would be giving their main competitor more content and gain very little in terms of MAU's. Sounds like a bad deal to me.

They want these guys to convert to PS, so publishing live service games on there is a risk with no reward, at best.

Xbox install base is too small and they don't buy games, so not worth it. Doubt anyone wants Concord anyway.

He's port begging for Helldivers II. PSN was a requirement.
He is? Weird.

Edit: Do Xbox have policies that allow them to make money off of microtransactions/DLCs from games? If so, it would make sense, then.

Nintendo is going to be a serious competitor to Sony going forward, so releasing in Switch would be dumb.
Nintendo are going to stay in their own lane as per usual. Not saying they aren't a threat but they seem unlikely to be shifting their first-party efforts towards similar content to Sonys, its less of an issue than Xbox.

Bottom line is that the demographic for Switch is a better fit, especially for GAAS. Whereas MS are on their way to Platform as a service.

In a way yes, but people could opt for PC/Switch combo, so Sony can't get comfy with Xbox gone, as they release games on PC as well.

And they ideally want people on Playstation consoles, so releasing games on Switch is a no-go.

No, unless it can help a studio not being closed, and even then only if the reason is that the game is good but failed for external factors.

I would give them exclusive rights for all the upcoming ones, 1 billion each. I'd even give them Hermen Hulst to supervise them personally.

Why the hell would they want that pronoun stuffed shit show Concord? Bit late for Helldivers 2 as that is way passed it peak.

Ok deal, Xbox have Concord in exchange for nothing else.

Pull the plug on Destiny 2 as well while they are at it.

There isn't much to gain. Series will not reach 40 million consoles by end of the gen and Nextbox will not reach 20 million. Also, Xbox players will want the games on Game Pass, so they will not sell either.
No reason to add extra dev time, budget and loss of brand power for pennies

Xbox needs Playstation. Playstation doesn't need Xbox. Should they? Probably. Will they? Probably not.

Shareholders want their dividends. More players make number go up, more money. So yes. Who cares what happens one year from now? Want money now.

Sony should just really take their GaaS, turn them side ways and shove them up their candy asses.

I think it would make dense for them to do it and also on switch. Those sorts of games are all about the player base and creating a bit of a buzz. If the game is only on PlayStation and PC then the market is restricted.

Gaas isn't personal, if personal feelings is the cause of closing these studios then f those feelings, nobody cares.
