Bloober pulled it off, so may be it is!legit looks too good to be true. It's made by guys who did RE:Verse FFS. Is this some kind of a trick?
Bloober made mechanically sparse walking sims, many of which were solid within their narrow scope, while NeoBards put out nothing but utter trash. I love to see this kind of turnaround for a studio tho and I'm preordering SHf as we speak.Bloober pulled it off, so may be it is!
Yeah that's my only issue with it. I hope they give us the option to turn that down.As a Silent Hill fan I'm definitely interested in this, but man, I am not a fan of the whole hit pausing thing at all. Especially in a horror centric title. I feel like we're seeing it a bit too much these days too.
Everything else looks pretty cool though. I'm just really hoping you can turn that off.
Looks awesome to me. Love me some slow-mo crunch shots.I kind of agree, combat with hiccups was not needed.

- Amazing/really good graphics
- Good art-direction
- Great atmosphere
- combat seems SH2-ish and chunky which is good
...and yet, I don't know, this looks more like Silent hill X Fatal frame - maybe it's just me being tired of Asian horror and girls in school uniforms but, yeah...
Anyway, looks really good just not SH-ish enough for me
Really?!Looks awesome to me. Love me some slow-mo crunch shots.
It's not low motion, it's full stop when you hit which makes it look weird.Looks awesome to me. Love me some slow-mo crunch shots.
Hey to each their own. Just my opinion. I like when melee has some oomph to it. Looks way more satisfying than the OG games where it felt like you were swinging a wet noodle.Really?!
I'm still not sure.

I get that but I believe there is better choice for survival horror game have impactful melee without hit stop.Hey to each their own. Just my opinion. I like when melee has some oomph to it. Looks way more satisfying than the OG games where it felt like you were swinging a wet noodle.
agreed. &, yeah, it's siren that this game reminds me of more than fatal frame. tho i also agree that the sailor suit uniform thing is getting sorta tired...It's leaning more Fatal Frame but that's no bad thing. That series hasn't gotten new games since Maiden of Black Water in 2014, and other series like Siren are dead and buried. We need more J-horror.
its not a full action game so it doesnt metter, its just to create the sense of impactEven if they are going for hit stop for the impact the stop is too long.

The developer said that its not needed to play the old SH games to get acquainted into this game . But I still hope there is connection to the other SH games to add interesting lore to it.
Yeah we will see how the combat feels when I try it in person.its not a full action game so it doesnt metter, its just to create the sense of impact

Not to mention based on its time period SHf is gonna take place loooong before SH1.I mean, what connection could it possibly have my good man ? This takes place in Japan and it's as Japanese as it gets, can't really see it being connected to a redneck American small town in any way - unless you mean the cult thing ?

Yes the cult, the origin of the supernatural, punishment or curse, and even the myth.I mean, what connection could it possibly have my good man ? Also this feels like the kind of game where you'll wanna avoid combat.
That girl looks like a brisk wind will tip her over.
In 2023, Japan raised the age of consent from 13 to 16, making it the lowest age among developed nations.
Thats the only thing I don't like about this game.I kind of agree, combat with hiccups was not needed.

One seems like a parry and the other like some kind of overhead charged attack. Both have a shockwave effect on contact. They seem to have some "hit stop" for all hits, but the others are barely noticeable (though they are quite obvious when you slow down the footage).I kind of agree, combat with hiccups was not needed.

SH2R taught me several lessons of not always jumping to conclusions. Reminded me that in a real deal videogame, game feel reigns and I should typically get my hands on a controller before going so balls deep on judging. I ended up loving every minute of that combat to the last encounter. Theres something so thick and wet about the impacts and the way the bodies thump on the ground.Yeah we will see how the combat feels when I try it in person.
I made mistake of severely misjudging SH2R based on trailers and full game end up being fantastic.
When comes atmosphere, setting, enemy design and what they going with the story, I'm absolutely in love with this game.
Out of context it does look a bit long but I kinda dig it as well. I can feel those hits in my nutsack from a gif.Really?!
I'm still not sure.
