Silent Hill F Releases September 25, 2025 | State of Play 2025

That "traitor" taunt and its overreliance to sell the gravity is why anime protags should speak less.
What exact high school drama shit will this be to be labelled as a traitor and be all moody about this. females with issues on Silent hill.

I'm just gonna post Higurashi scenes. all high schoolers (with some grade schoolers). Same scenario writer. All crazy people lol

I like very much the trailer, it looks scary and well made

That being said, I hope we have fire arms because melee only would be very disappointing

I hope she is clumsy especially in fights and not a very good figther to really make it realistic that she is just a regular girl. But will learn as game progress.

With the setting of Japan, I think fewer firearms fit with the setting. Maybe some revolver from police or hunting rifle will be great.

Looks to have no dodge like SH2 Remake so I wonder if you have to time attacks to interrupt monsters and that's why the hit-stop is so long. Day 1.

this looks better than the silent hill 2 remake
could end up being the best sillent hill game
cant wait

I really enjoyed Silent Hill 2, and excited for this one as well. Gameplay and visually it looks really good. You know you got something good when your misses seeing those mannequins attacking are creeping her out big time just from a trailer alone.

It doesn't look bad by itself (more interesting than the remake at first sight), it looks good and maybe it can be entertaining, but I don't know, why is this game called Silent Hill again? What makes this game more Silent Hill than, let's say, Siren, Mundaun, Cry of Fear or Signalis? Not looking so combat heavy of course.

Not going to lie, I'm liking the way this is shaping up a lot. Much more interested in this than cashgrab remakes, but I still refuse to give Konami money after the decades of neglecting Silent Hill, Suikoden, and Metal Gear. I know I'm just a drop in the bucket but gotta stick to my guns.

This where I'm at.

Looks like a good horror game. Nothing about what they've shown of "F" reminds me of Silent Hill.

Silent Hill isn't about Japanese horror. Let alone 1960s Japanese highschool trope horror.

I agree and my first guess is for marketing/sales reason. Silent Hill is a popular name and especially now after the successful remake of 2. If they called it japanese ghost town or whatever, i imagine thered be less eyes on it. Personally i wouldve preferred if they stuck with the western theme, maybe even have it set in Europe somewhere. Theres been so many Japan games lately where im starting to get tired of the aesthetic.

I get that but I believe there is better choice for survival horror game have impactful melee without hit stop.

Even things like shake camera a little would be choice in my opinion.

But again I need to p,ay this first hand to how the combat feels…..we need a demo.
I'm sure they A/B tested it to see which timing would create the most satisfying, thumpy feeling of impact. It's pretty neat, I can viscerally sense the gravity of the thing hitting the foes.

Japanese schoolgirls being chased by monsters with a not-so-fluid looking combat system.
Looks like oldschool jank, not sure if it`s the good or bad kind, though.
Wait and see.

Somehow the stiff looking combat doesn't bother me and I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe stiffness is part of Silent Hill identity. The atmosphere is incredible and has me on the edge of my seat.

i am glad they changed the setting and its not just about some guy like murphy pendleton
I wonder how much culture shock this will have in the west, beyond your typical western Otaku. Cause we all know.

I like the idea of the town being in a different location. It looks creepy. I grew up with Silent Hill, so I'm down. Besides SH2R, the effort to bring it all back has been a little lackluster.

F is for fuck

The protag had a sexual encounter/was raped (unclear until you unlock the UFO ending and see the hidden cam footage taken by the perverted aliens) by the village teacher, a well respected and universally loved man. When it was uncovered the teacher committed suicide out of shame and guilt. No one could pass whatever is the japanese equivalent of GED that year since the only guy who could organize it was dead.
Japan society being what it is, all students are shunned for having to repeat a class and become homeless. Their collective grudges fester concentrate on the protag until it is so strong it gives birth to this new silent hill.

The atmosphere looks on par with the original trilogy.

I said elsewhere, but this is probably the closest we'll come to a modern Fatal Frame game.

Just that this one is in aan SH wrapper and without camera mechanics. The characters and settings remind me a lot of the early Fatal Frame games.

It looks good, but I really don't like the hit stop, it looks stupid and out of place.

I'll be waiting on fan reviews though, because Neobards is a complete unknown bar 2 shitty RE MP games and support work.

I feel the protagonist is powerful for a student.

Forbidden Siren's characters are ordinary people, and they had their drawbacks in terms of physical strength and combat prowess.

Maybe there's a reason behind it. The early teasers seemed to hint at her getting "infected" or the like.

Pretty much all of Silent Hill's characters are pretty ordinary too. Heather was also a teenager, and James, given his mental condition over the months preceding him arriving at the town, probably wasn't in good physical condition himself.

But given the nature of the Otherworld, I don't think the actual physical capabilities of the characters is meant to be that relevant a factor when they're fighting monsters even with hand weapons. Besides, getting hit with something like a lead pipe is still going to hurt like shit even if it's a 14 year old girl hitting you with it.
