Man i never understood why publishers/devs wont just pay some people for these mods and release it as a goodwill update to their fanbase.

I mean it looks pretty good I guess, when compared to the original anyways, but the lack of modern advanced lighting holds it all back. It still looks so flat and basic, though that's no fault of the molders.

The most impressive thing about that, is the complete change of the game. This doesn't even look like Skyrim anymore. The combat, the animation. Looks like 2016-2017 game.
And if those modders can do amazing jobs like these on Skyrim, imagine what they could do with starfield.

Some do. For example, CDPR will be using the work from the modder who made the Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project.
In this case, it's one single big mod, from one modder. With no dependencies.

But there are also some issues with licensing mods.
Many mods depend on other mods, so it can be a bit of a mess to license every dependency. And all it takes is one, to break everything up.
Then there are issues with collaboration. Many mods are made by groups of people on their free time. Now if there is going to be a pay out, deciding what share each one gets, will be a mess to untangle.
And then there are thefts. A few cases have appeared ion the modding community where one modder steals work from another modder. When this is free, it's already complex enough. But if you add money to the equation it can become a huge mess.
Imagine Bethesda buying the license from one modder, just to discover a few days later that another modder is taking them to court, because of stollen work.

I don't get why these photorealistic molders think blinding bright contrast looks realistic.
Photorealism doesn't mean realism. People chasing photorealism usually aren't chasing reality, they're trying to emulate heavily post-processed film and photography.

I admit it…..I've never finished Skyrim……it's one of my biggest regrets I think.

I really should do It at some point. I have the special edition on Xbox and PC but not the latest legendary one or whatever it's called.

this looks pretty damn good though.

RIP people on an IPS panel or improperly setup OLED watching the 3rd video:

You have to expend a thumb on camera controls which could otherwise be used on the face buttons for more combat options. Having to aim at the same time is what leads to the dreaded finger claw technique.
M&kb? Elite/Scuf controllers? How people played Skyrim on PS360?

Most people played on consoles, and the combat in vanilla Skyrim sucked. And you can't expect everyone to buy some bullshit $200 controller just to have access to a few more buttons that they shouldn't need.

The combat on Skyrim sucks like real hard. Enemies can easly hit you, regardless of height because of their lock on properties(which makes them only miss arrows by their own account). Magic is another thing when you consider strong magic like fireball or even reanimated zombies, which in this case never miss because they lock on on the bodies regardless of positioning.

2022 and people still can't understand that certain controllers suck for certain games and not the game itselves. This include devs...

Ugly. Same ugly models with overdone lighting just like those stupid GTA graphics mods with bright lights and every surface reflecting like mirror.

Well, I play with m+kb so nothing sucks on Skyrim combat. 🤷‍♂️

Wish someone would package this up into one installable...
You're in luck.

Wabbajack is pre-curated, configured, and patched up modlists that do all of the work for you. Toxic used The Phoenix Flavour as his base for what you see, as per the video description. It is probably the most popular Wabbajack pack out there for good reason. It will contain pretty much all of the modern advancements in Skyrim modding (from what you can see, there's a lot of them).

Lock-on mod??? Lame. Aim your hits for yourself!

Are they trying to make Skyrim look realistic? Skyrim??? Realistic???
You realise every single mod in the entire world is optional, right? Including lock on. If you don't want to use it, it's quite simple: you just don't use it.

For better or worse, there's been inspiration from Dark Souls for combat mods. They're not necessarily to my taste, either.

You don't say???

And was Zelda OoT that started with this shitty combat with with lock on, not Dark Souls...

This facination with Skyrim.. I mean no matter how to try to polish it, it will still be a turd. It looks and plays old and no matter how much mods you throw at it it will still be old. You are better playing Valhalla honestly.

Rly? M&kb Skyrim is elitist bollocks while patching assists to your camera controls suck "less" is ok?
No. Mkb Skyrim isn't elitist, you are. You don't like lock on, so it's shit. You don't think Skyrim should look realistic, so it's a mistake. No reasons for any of it though, just empty statements. I've had no problem aiming with a controller in Skyrim, but I've also got no problem if people choose to use lock on to change the way they play the game, because if you're happy to use lock on then nothing is lost. Skyrim is hardly the most skill-based game out there, so what's the issue?

??? I never said Skyrim should not look realistic. The mod here I don't think is trying to be.

Part of the gameplay (camera/aiming) becoming automatic is "nothing lost"? Maybe modding the strikes with the sword to be automatic would make anything be lost too, by your logic...

These videos change the environment of Skyrim too much. I posted some Riverwood screenshots here
I try to maintain the tundra feel of Skyrim as much as I cam.

Gross, the lighting is way too bright
I don't get why these photorealistic molders think blinding bright contrast looks realistic.
The lighting depends on the ENB you choose.

I suggest using Rudy ENB.
