Guys it's okay to think Wind Waker has a good art style but bad art direction. I'm sure he just meant art direction-- he is plastered after all.

Wait, so I got 1 ½ hours of sleep, then my brain decided to wake me up?

Fuck this hype, it's fucking killing me.

Just because I'm bored, drunk, and currently playing through a Zelda game at the moment, I feel like listing the strengths and weaknesses of each Zelda game in the series. Hope I don't offend!

WW:
+ The best music of the series ever
+ The most impressive cel-shading in gaming history
+ Best story of the franchise
+ Overworld a joy to explore and travel through
+ Nigh-perfect controls

- Terrible art style
- Dungeons are piss easy
- In fact, game is entirely piss easy
- Too long to travel from one place to another
- Wind Waker interrupts flow
- Insipid item design
WTFNO.

Best art style ever.
Sailing is a joy for me.
Wind Waker usage is fine. No other way to do it. although the animation is a bit repetitive.
Item design is just fine. how is it in any way bad?

hes entitled to his opinion

I love how the ad for Skyward Sword, at least on GT anyway, is just gameplay shots. No bullshit CG or one second cuts from unplayable camera angles. Just a bunch of different parts of the game.

On the orchestral CD, first track (The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Melody), what is the sample that starts at around 4:22 from? I know it, but I cant for the life of me which game or track.

Well at 4:30 something it turns into A Link to the Past. The opening introduction I believe.

I think it's just a transition to the next Chamber of the Triforce part.

Are we really doing this?! Okay well I'm not a hardcore Zelda-fan by all means but this is pretty much it:

LttP > OoT > TP > WW

Planning on playing MM someday though, and I truly do expect Skyward Sword to become the best Zelda-game out there.

Is it that hard to believe that someone might have an issue with sailing?

Besides, he's absolutely right - sailing in WW takes way too fucking long and massively impacts on the game's pacing. If it doesn't bother people, that's great for them. I wish I felt the same, but all I see is an exceptionally uneven game with nice visuals.

OoT:
+ The landmark 3D title of the 90s.
+ Incredible innovations to camera implementation, level design, and 3D environment design
+ Some of the catchiest melodies the series has to offer
+ The series' best plot yet
+ Time travel
+ Epona!
+ Open field introduces exploration in 3D
+ Wonderful item usage
+ Great boss battles

- Too easy
- Starts slow
- Rupees become insignificant once your in the adult time

MM:
+ The series' best art direction ever
+ Sidequests galore
+ NPC interaction
+ Wonderful dungeons
+ Masks
+ Unique music
+ Groundhog Day-esque design
+ Graphics for the time were extraordinary

- Time limit
- Bank system
- Saving

King of Red Lions should've transformed into a speedboat or something, that would've been cool. Just imagine.

i hope the next zelda game has an even bigger ocean and there's no warps and you can't even change the wind you just have to wait for it to change or use clever navigation

it'd own so hard and the Bad Zelda Fans would all be owned

this would work well with your Oda design idea

Honestly it sounds better. It would be like "fuck it, let's hit the high seas and see where we end up" instead of "oh god I need to go the other way, time to watch snake eyes Link conduct the same diddy he did the 290 other times I needed to change the wind"
