I gotta let my rage out at someone. I kind of distanced myself from the Twilight Princess meltdowns, and I certainly wasn't a target. I literally lost a little faith in humanity today.

By the way, I would have reviewed Oblivion as a 3/5.

There's no such thing as a "flawless" game. But a 5/5 represents a pinnacle of game design as it relates to modern expectations; I gave Arkham City a 5/5, not because it was perfect, but because it was utterly fantastic in nearly every regard.
4/5 is an extremely solid game. It doesn't shatter the planet, but I had a great time.
This game got high scores all around. What a surprise! What AAA games don't these days? It's a Zelda game and plays like a Zelda game. It's not Elder Scrolls or Batman: Darksiders. It's a Nintendo game too so no tits and gore!
There's no issue if its a widely known early release. We know shops in Sweden were/are selling the game, but as far as I'm aware there's no wide spread date break elsewhere. We do, however, know the game has been leaked. The policy in these cases, which has been enforced plenty of times before, is that users playing the game provide proof of a legitimate copy.
Thankfully other members have provided me with shots. This isn't a new policy.
I loved the beginning of Twilight Princess, it was one of the very few parts of the game where I really felt like being part of a world. A world I care for.
Nice to hear that Skyward Sword has a slow-paced beginning too. I love that.
i enjoyed the beginning of twilight princess too. but skyward sword does a poor job of making you feel like a part of its world or even of making the world feel like an interesting place full of dangers and mysteries, a place that you'd want to explore. so far, the world has also felt much too fractured, the individual locations too isolated.

He was kinda emotional back them. That's why I think that reviews should be written at least 1 week after the reviewers beat the game. Makes the whole "fanboyism" thing go away (not talking about Feep by the way, generally speaking).
btw, has anyone pointed out yet that the gratitude stones you get from completing sidequests in ss are starbits from mario galaxy? like, they're the same exact 3d model.

Some of you guys are embarrassing. We play the game not the score. Who cares what the number is? Read the damn review and judge the quality for yourself. A review is there to help inform your purchase, not be the end all be all of the games quality.
Feep, I read your review and I actually really liked it. You made some great points and then pointed out some flaws that you thought kept the game from being perfect.Your text completely justifies your score so don't let these people sending you threats get to you man. Just pretend they don't exist and don't bother giving them a time of your day.
I hate number scores so much because of this. It really brings out the worse in fanboys.
But... that's what it *is*. I don't like it just as much as you do, but that's the whole *point* of scores. Your argument boiled down to "scores really shouldn't exist", which I'm fine with.

just so we're clear: again, i paid for my copy. in fact, i got it before it leaked online, like a lot of swiss people. some have even had it since thursday!

i've never seen it, but it's still somewhat popular for whatever reason. there's a gif of a bunch of the puppets 'laughing' that's used pretty frequently.
This is how Skyward Sword's intro (w/ tutorials) works:
First you wake up in bed as Link, go outside. Second one of the instructors yells at you to Z target him and come up to where he's at.
...You can optionally get a cat from top of the building, but you don't have to. This is the main tutorial of the controls of the game Third you go to meet Zelda, she pushes you off the ledge and you have no bird so she saves you. Fourth you meet Groose and it turns out he captures your bird, so you have to go look for it. Fifth get a sword from the sword instructor.
...You can optionally slash some logs. Sixth you go into a cave to find your bird, and release it from it's entrapment. Seventh you get a forced flying tutorial with Zelda that only lasts for like a minute Eighth you do flying ceremony, competing with Groose and his shitty friends to get the bird statue. Ninth
you have a nite on the town with Zelda
, and
she gets captured.
Tenth you wake up in bed at night, get called to the
Goddess statue and take up the Goddess Sword.
Eleventh you wake up in bed in the morning, get your tunic and a shield.
All can be done successfully in the span of 20 to 30 minutes and maybe even less.
Yeah, the complains about the "tutorial" are pretty strange. Like people just want the game to plop Link in the first dungeon as soon as you turn the game on, without any narrative. Compared to TP and WW it's nearly nonexistent.
As I said before, a lot of the "Tutorial" comes from being in a dungeon, facing a challenge, and having to figure it out or die. Like the vine swinging in the dungeon. Or the first boss fight being little more than "Waggle aimlessly and I am going to kill you"
