...and from that I list, I only like one game. Thought the rest was pretty shit. Now what? Should I buy the behemoth because pseudo-journalists tell me to? I prefer to form my own opinions.
Of course not. I don't care much about about reviews either, my tastes just happen to align with them in the case of the image that member posted as I loved everyone of those games.
Sony just fits my tastes very well as a person who loves cinematic, narrative-driven games and Nintendo games and the ones Sony makes in that vein like Ratchet, Astrobot etc.
Conversely, MS doesn't fit my tastes as well and I didn't like much from their exclusives this generation other than the campaigns in Halo 5 and Gears 4 and 5 and Quantum Break. I don't like online gaming outside of some co-op stuff like Borderlands, don't like racing games, don't like most WRPGs, don't like hard 2D games like Cuphead or Ori.
Its just different stokes for different folks and it's great that the platform holders offer different types of exclusive libraries. There's no point in having multiple consoles with the exact same type of exclusives. The variety is a good thing.
There's no reason for anyone to get annoyed(not really directed at you as you were commenting mostly about the reviews) when someone posts a list of games that don't interest them. That's just a sign that the console probably isn't for them and that they could probably post a similar image for one of the other platforms of games they loved that reviewed great.
I've been gaming since the Atari 5200 and I think now is the best time to be a gamer with the three console platforms and PCs having their own unique genre strengths in their exclusive libraries and the huge indie scene adding a ton of variety.
