I'm genuinely curious what an xsx could do that a pc can't. Are you talking about visuals?

I was making a reference to features more than anything. Like if the XSX has a cool feature that you can't get on PCs I might buy one because of that.

Definitely not visuals because PC has the XSX beat there.

PS5. I prefer Sony 1st party, I'll carry over my digital library and I like VR.
I might get a XSX a couple of years later.

Don't see any reason to switch now, been using PS hardware since the beginning and have never really been let down in either hardware or software department.

X Series for me. I'll get a PS5 on down the line when we are about halfway into that generation. I got a switch already for my cutesy cartoon platformers.

Isn't this a bit too early? We don't even know the launch date and prices?

I have a PS4 and was tempted to get a PS5 at launch but yesterday's showcase cooled my enthusiasm to say the least. Hopefully Microsoft will be more transparent during their first party event.

Definitely the PlayStation 5 first; I'll eventually get the Xbox Series X for the novelty of having one, since I game on PC as well.

I'd really like to see a black PS5 I don't like that two tone shit to be honest but until there's some worthwhile games I'll stick with the switch and PS4, But ultimately it will be a PS5 down the line.

#Blackconsolesmatter.

PS5 for sure as Sony first party games are a huge chunk of my favorite games the last couple of generations and there was a lot shown yesterday that I'm excited to play.

Series X I doubt I'll buy as there just aren't many of their games that interest me anymore. They acquired a bunch of studios, so that could change of course. Though the ones they've acquired haven't made many games to date that I've enjoyed. In any case, if they have things I really want to play I'd lean more toward uograding my PC and just buying a month or two of Gamepass or just trying out Xcloud when that's our. Halo Infinite should be fine on my current PC since it ran Gears 5 well and Infinite is getting an Xbox One version so it should scale down well.

I don't spend quite as much time in gaming these days and have no shortage of things I wish I had time to buy and play on Sony and Nintendo's consoles. That makes a third console, or upgrading the PC, a hard sell for me. Especially since I got over the slight FOMO I used to have and don't care about playing every great game, having an informed GOTY list (or even posting one) etc.

Neither. If I had to choose though I'd get a PS5. Zero interesting games on Xbox, and if that ever changes I'll just play them on PC.

Will get PS5 at launch and probably a XSX close to launch or within the year after. I recently upgraded my PC, but both consoles will perform better graphically. Plus I have some older Xbox games I could play. PS5 already has at least 5 games I'll get for it.

Nuff said.

PS5, but I might also get the XSX depending on what more they announce between now and launch.

I actually tried to change over to my Xbox One X as my main console multiple times this gen, but the Xbox One controllers always felt horrible to me and would always break quickly. Even the Elite Series 2 had major issues right out of the box. I know most people love the Xbox one controllers, but I guess I am part of the minority that prefers the DualShock 4. I have big hands too. 🤷‍♂️

Going to wait and see what the next gen graphics cards performance/price is from Nvidia and AMD til I make a decision.

Both but Xbox Series X as my main console and Ps5 for exclusives since it looks like most of it's 3rd party will be running at 30fps or frame rates lower than Xbox in general.

Still XsX only.
I'm not willing to spend $400 -$500 just to play Horizon and the other 2 games that somewhat interested me are multiplats that will play and look better on the XsX.

PS5 but not at launch because my country is not one of their target market, thus the scarcity will skyrocket the price further

I want to play ratchet and clank and TLOU 1 & 2

PS5, on the basis that

- My PC probably can't run RE8
- I need RE8
- I have more PS4 games than XB1 games
- MS really doesn't seem to want to pursue the kinds of games I'm interested in anymore
- XB1's UI was so BAD that it's preemptively poisoned the idea of me ever owning another Xbox again

...and from that I list, I only like one game. Thought the rest was pretty shit. Now what? Should I buy the behemoth because pseudo-journalists tell me to? I prefer to form my own opinions.

Of course not. I don't care much about about reviews either, my tastes just happen to align with them in the case of the image that member posted as I loved everyone of those games.

Sony just fits my tastes very well as a person who loves cinematic, narrative-driven games and Nintendo games and the ones Sony makes in that vein like Ratchet, Astrobot etc.

Conversely, MS doesn't fit my tastes as well and I didn't like much from their exclusives this generation other than the campaigns in Halo 5 and Gears 4 and 5 and Quantum Break. I don't like online gaming outside of some co-op stuff like Borderlands, don't like racing games, don't like most WRPGs, don't like hard 2D games like Cuphead or Ori.

Its just different stokes for different folks and it's great that the platform holders offer different types of exclusive libraries. There's no point in having multiple consoles with the exact same type of exclusives. The variety is a good thing.

There's no reason for anyone to get annoyed(not really directed at you as you were commenting mostly about the reviews) when someone posts a list of games that don't interest them. That's just a sign that the console probably isn't for them and that they could probably post a similar image for one of the other platforms of games they loved that reviewed great.

I've been gaming since the Atari 5200 and I think now is the best time to be a gamer with the three console platforms and PCs having their own unique genre strengths in their exclusive libraries and the huge indie scene adding a ton of variety.

I'm seriously considering not buying the Xbox Series X, which is crazy-talk for me because I buy them all, but they are doing very little to show me why I should care about their platform.

i'm most definitely gonna get a PS5 at some point, unless Sony wants to start releasing their exclusives on PC at launch, but i just need to decide on what I want my main platform to be. Either stick with PC and upgrade that when Nvidia release new cards or just get an Xbox until i can justify getting a PS5. I might just wait for the inevitable PS5 Slim before jumping in.

Xbox, I have more Xbox games and the fact that they will to run even better by default and suspending multiple games at once is big for me.

I'll get a PS5 eventually to have best of both worlds.

Next gen will be great for gamers.

I'm saying series X on the poll because that one I'm getting at launch, it will eventually be both but I think I'll hold off on PS5 until a slim model arrives with a price drop.

I was going to purchase both, but now I'm not sure I will jump on either at launch. Still hoping the July Xbox event wows me, but thus far there has been nothing shown from either side to justify a day one purchase.

I will get PS5 day 1 ... if I Can and wait for MS to double up the storage in a year and may be some better exclusives will be out by then. In the mean time I am going to use my XboxOne x which has been neglected...

Can't say yet. Need an "Undecided" option in the poll. We don't know much about the launch lineup of either console is going to be. MS hasn't even had their main reveal.

At this point, though, neither have shown me enough to make me want to buy in, yet. I know there are several games coming to PS5 I would like to play -- trouble is, I have no idea when they'll arrive. I will probably say the same about Xbox, after their show.

I'm sitting on the fence, waiting for more info.

I think I'm going from PS4, Switch, and PC this gen to PC/Switch Pro next gen. I have a baby on the way and between work and being the primary caregiver, I know my gaming time is going to get slashed.

More than likely I'll just slowly grind through JRPG's and the occasional Nintendo exclusive, but know that I'll love you forever GAF.
