Sons of Anarchy - Season 5 - Tuesdays on FX

No insult to the actor, but Juice is bothering me. Last season he rats, kills a fellow Son, and generally causes all sorts of problems for the club. That could all have been averted if, when initially picked up and threatened by Roosevelt, he had talked to someone like Jax or Chibs and said, "Hey, dude's trying to get me to rat." They probably wouldn't have cared about the black father thing, though that's my imagination.

This season he's acting like he holds Clay's leash. He caves in immediately to Clay's demands, takes him to Nero's, and causes people who were good and welcoming to the Sons to face punishment.

I realize this is how the character is being written, but I hope Sutter is setting Juice up for facing what he's done.

Does anybody have a season 4 recap? I can't remember anything about the Juice thing except that it was stupid as fuck because I didn't think Jax would give a shit about who his dad was.

.

HIS club wouldn't have cared, I don't think, but it would probably cause the Sons a ton of problems if any of the other chapters found out about it.

The problem with Gemma is she's starting to get unrealistic. She's like a cartoon character. And on a show like this that says a lot.

This is how so many of the characters on this show are. Tara, in particular, makes me wonder how she could have gotten through med school with how dumb and annoying she is. "Hey, let Gemma manupulate you for the 79th time! I'm sure this time she's just looking out for you!"

This episode sort of highlights one of my major beefs with the show, especially in recent seasons. Everything plays out like some open world game. "Hey I'm burying my best friend tonight and have all this shit going on, but Nero just gave me a mission to go on some wild goose chase to find some random hooker and of course it ends up turning into a chase scene/shootout" I practically pictured the little turn arrows popping up as they rode to the motel. They seem to be able to drive all over California and perform all these acts and missions and get back home in time for dinner like it's nothing. Granted I will still watch, the show has a hook and it's basically addicting junk food television, but it's got major flaws in terms of acting/pacing/writing. Feels really corny at times.

Tara, how do you keep falling for Gemma's manipulation?

Also, f*ck Clay. He's behind the home invasions and he's partially responsible for Opie's death.

And f*ck Juice. It's his fault Nero's business was busted, as he led Clay to them and caved in like a p***y.

After all the excitement of last week this week was just kind of settling the wake.

Was anyone else waiting for Tara to hurt her wrist again? Would have served her right for being so stupid.

If Clay is behind all this shit, then he better die. I'm guessing he knows he's fucked after the weapons deal goes down, so he's maneuvering the pieces behind the scenes to ensure his survival.

That remark from Gemma about how Clay wouldn't call the cops is making me wonder if she's being naive about what kind of person Clay truly is.

This episode felt "off" to me the entire time. I hope Jax kills Gemma by the end of this season..shes causing too much shit especially with his own family. I hope the next episode is better.

not going to read anything in here as I just managed to jump through enough hoops in europe to get netflix up and running and I'm starting at season one.

My only question is, if I like season one (episode 6 currently) will I continue to enjoy? Does the quality keep up?

Just a friendly suggestion, get the fuck out of this thread man, start a LTTP thread instead, there will be spoilers in here.

Awful episode last night.

The writing for Gemma and Tara is terrible. In fact the whole Gemma/Tara/Wendy plot is B-A-D as was the stupid GTA mission to save Nero's disney star hooker.

I defended this show when it stayed in Ireland too damn long, I defended some of the missteps at the end of season 4, but it's finally starting to lose me. I was just profoundly bored during most of this episode, when I wasn't rolling my eyes.

It was just an episode to get closure on Opie and get the story set up for the rest of the season so I'm not really too upset that it wasn't up to par with how good the show usually is. What I will say is that Hunnam's acting has been absolutely fantastic this season, better than any season before it

Katey Segal's acting in her crying scene after she learns about Opies death was terribad. "what is happening to us!?!". Made me laugh out loud.

wow after the whole, "U can't manipulate me, bullshit" of Tara. Just like that she was manipulated like a kid.

its like the character doesn't exist but just to make the story move on.

Tara is a fucking idiot. I cant believe Gemma changed the subject on her so easily lmfao.
I sort of feel the same way. Clay needs to catch a bullet to the head at the end of this season. Dude's causing a lot of problems for the club, as is Gemma honestly. It was a bit surprising to see Tara fall for Gemma's manipulation last night. Talk about switching the conversation up.

Juice being so loyal to Clay is a bit aggravating also. I understand it was Clay who gave him the "Men of Mayhem" patch but man...

It was sad seeing Opie in that box last night. Charlie Hunnam did a great job acting last night.

And that Ashley Tisdale is a cutie, damn :)

I think Tara just wanted an excuse to let off some steam. She's got a lot of bottled up rage.

Anyway, this show has always been pretty corny, nothing new this season. Still love it.

So is Ashley done for the year?

This is my favorite show, but Sutter needs to realize that there isn't anything interesting left for Gemma.

Shove her into the background and let the other characters breathe a little from her constant nagging and need to control everything. The way Jax told her off in the last episode, I really hope he meant it and that Sutter will follow through with Jax putting Gemma in a corner where she stops fucking everything up.

Then again, moments later we had Gemma manipulate Tara...again...
