This ep. pretty much shows how stupid last season's Juice storyline was. The pub was full of black members of SOA. One of them was wearing the Lodi patch.

the ending was really cheesy

this show uses montages at the end of EVERY episode

featuring a bland cover by some no-name musician

remember when this show used to have cool licensed music? the pilot episode had black rebel motorcycle club and the black keys (who are kinda meh but still)

at this point nothing Tara's stupid ass does surprises me.
sad too because she was (is?) one of the characters i rooted for.

That's the thing, there aren't really any characters to root for. I don't know if that was by design. I think back to the end of season 1, with the funeral for Ope's wife and Revelator playing while Jax looked like he was going to take back the club and return it to what his father originally intended, and here we are 5 seasons later and it hasn't lived up that promise. Jax is kind of a dick, the club is still shitty and reprehensible with sprinklings of morality tossed in there every now and then, and everything ends up nice and wrapped up with a big bow all the time. I mean, how is Tig now dead or at least patched out of the club by now? He is directly responsible for all this shit that has gone down and Jax's response is "I'll keep my eye on him..."!?!

it really makes no sense

because its set in a fictional city they can apparently have the most corrupt prison system in existence and also non existent jail sentences

It was a day, right? I was constantly wondering during the episode if that was the case, because that would mean that shit happened to these people yesterday.

Yesterday
Gemma manipulated Wendy into visiting Tara; Gemma and Tara had a conversation about how Tara is the smart one and can’t be manipulated anymore.
Jax saw his best friend since childhood get brutally murdered right in front of him.
Nero’s business was ruined because of the Sons.

Today
Tara falls for the most basic Gemma manipulation in the world.
Jax goes to the ruined brothel, goes on a random GTA mission to save a random hooker and sets up a new arrangement with Nero. I guess that’s one way to deal with grief.
Nero agrees to a new business venture with the Sons.

The fuck?

I also like how the scene with Jax telling Nero to end things with Gemma was immediately followed by a scene with Gemma and Tara beating up Carla. How convenient.

and everything ends up nice and wrapped up with a big bow all the time.
This.

This is my favorite show, but Sutter needs to realize that there isn't anything interesting left for Gemma.

Shove her into the background and let the other characters breathe a little from her constant nagging and need to control everything. The way Jax told her off in the last episode, I really hope he meant it and that Sutter will follow through with Jax putting Gemma in a corner where she stops fucking everything up.

Then again, moments later we had Gemma manipulate Tara...again...

They need to phase out Gemma and Clay. I guess that's why he's highlighting the damage that both of them are doing right now.

Ivy - regarding this minor spoiler post from June, did these scenes get cut or did TVLine screw up the spoiler? Just curious how that all worked out.

Question: In honor of Sons of Anarchy‘s much-deserved Critics Choice nominations, treat us to some Season 5 scoop. Please. —Jesse

Ausiello:
Things are looking up for Opie. Sorta. You see, he’s getting a new love interest. That’s the good part. Unfortunately, she’s the cousin of San Francisco-based crime boss Henry Lin (who was last seen in Season 3). The rebellious Keiko is looking to break away from her family and run with SAMCRO. Rumor has it Gemma will not be a fan.
Keiko!

I'm not too sure how spoilers work in this thread (to use them/to not use them)

But here we go.

Who do you think called
the cops?

I think Dora the Whorea had something to do with it. I mean she did go behind Nero's back and told the Mex Thugs where the chick was. Why not go behind his back and tell the cops to try and pin it on the girl Gemma beat. It makes sense as you could tell from the get go that Dora the Whora didn't like Gemma. So it seems to me that she would rat out the brothel AFTER Gemma beat that girls ass to try and make it look like the girl ratted because of Gemma causing Nero to break up with Gemma cause she ruined his business.

No-name musician? ummmm Greg Holden has like 5+ albums.

I'm not a fan of his work by any means.... but no-named muscians don't get that many albums. I personally thought the song was perfect for a funeral... Maybe you didn't listen to the words? It basically sounds like a "Biker Funeral Song".

*edit* I swear it sounds like he's describing Opie.

The Lost Boy- Greg Holden

I left my home still as a child, I walked a thousand soary miles

To wait for my father, to gather up his tools

He said my boy you've got to run, don't wait for me, don't wait for mum

We'll come get you, when it's safe for us to move

So I waited many years, held back the pain behind my tears

For my father, to come find me like he said

And in that time I was alone, so many years without my home

I made brothers of a different kind instead

And at the time I didn't know, just how hard the wind could blow

Towards disaster, and the things that I would see

I never found my father, I never found my mother

Even would I know in my lifetime I will be

A hero to the masses, to those born without chances

There's a freedom that everyone deserves

I know there's greed and there's corruption

I've seen death and mass destruction

But I'm telling you, and I hope that I'm heard

I will not be commanded

I will not be controlled

And I will not let my future go on

Without the help of my soul

And I will not be commanded

And I will not be controlled

And I will not let my future go on

Without the help of my soul

And I will not be commanded

And I will not be controlled

And I will not let my future go on

Without the help of my soul

I will not be commanded

I will not be controlled

And I will not let my future go on

Without the help of my soul

look up Greg Holden "The Lost Boy" on youtube and relisten to the words.

It's been speculated that in tonight's episode
Joel McHale's conman character will show up
.

Sutter also said that we'll need a shower and some fudge on his twitter, and we'll react by saying, "Oh my God, did I just see that?"
