Thanks for the gifs though brother

No problem, Brother.

I like how Bobby has always been made out to be the moral conscience of the club, and now he's just capping fools in the head left and right with no hesitation lol.

It's really sudden. But he was closer to Tara than any of the other club members (Jax aside).

I have a feeling that Jax won't make it out this season alive.

Yup, this episode has me thinking that this is a play by Sutter to make us see Jax as someone who needs to die instead of Gemma. He's become stupid, unstable and someone who is dangerous to all around him.

As for Gemma. She'll be framed as the person best suited to look after his boys.

Literally the only sympathetic people in this show right now are Wendy, Unser and maybe Nero. Everyone else is unconscionably slimy and deserves their comeuppance.

So Jax potentially killed that guys sons or some people obviously closer to him than he let on. And he knows Jax did it. Jax is starting an entire war based off of a lie that Gemma told him. His world is going to come crashing down so fucking hard and fast it's crazy.

It's also obvious, at least I think so, that Juice is going to be the one who breaks down and snitches on Gemma. Leading ot Jax murdering her ass. But I don't think Jax survives this season.

Hopefully they don't drag out this Jax on a dumb rampage story line for too long. Makes him completely unlikable, along with everyone in the crew.

I'm rooting for Unser and no one else at this point

Jax and his dumb shortsighted plans... let's just pin all this on a pair of guys introduced to us by one of our fellow club presidents... what could ever go wrong? In the same episode as Unser saying Jax is as smart as he is formidable, or whatever. Jax is playing a bad game of one-dimensional chess.

The Fox News and Obama gag was at least amusing.

not available in my country...

for fuck sake youtube

Blame FX, not YouTube. They're the ones who set the region restrictions.

One of these episodes, there better be some damn consequences for all these shootouts.

So many times SAMCRO has gone into some situation guns blazing and came out unscathed. Aside from the dude getting blown up by a grenade or whatever it was. And Juice killing the one dude. Sure, Bobby got shot the one time but he was good in like a half hour.

Especially now that they are on the last season? It's unbelievable how guys like Tig, Bobby, Happy, Chibs, Ratboy, and whoever else have been around so long and get into so many gunfights but are still okay.

I'm not usually one to pine for more realism in these types of shows (because it usually brings everything down to boring snores), but it's been bothering me. Especially after last night's big shootout and chase against the Asians.

SAMCRO are almost A-Team esque with their shootouts. Has any one of them ever gotten shot during one?

This last episode definitely gave me flashbacks to The A-Team, except SAMCRO is less clever and more obvious with their ploys. I mean, they straight up drove right to Lin's men, parked, and somehow got the jump on guys with guys already drawn. I guess they were all totally shocked and awed by Jax's brilliant decision to buy some hay bales.

That song is great.

Anyway... my stumbling block with this show is that so much of the bullshit that happens is predicated on doing something out of character or stupid. Like when Gemma did what she did, all Jax had to do was make a phone call. This shit with the chinese could have been avoided if he pulled the scarf out of that guy's mouth and let him talk.

It's not even remotely plausible.

Hell, I at least figured GAF would extra hate the montage since GAF hates them, and seemingly Yelawolf lol.

Not too impressed with this season thus far. Many of the thoughts expressed so far I agree with, and I haven't hated the previous seasons. Don't care for this Jax, and I'm getting really fucking sick of Gemma. Wife said looks like the show died with Tara and I'm inclined to agree (for reference, she has watched the entire preceding series several times and usually re-watches new eps the next day... not yet this season). Will continue to watch as I already paid for the season (iTunes) but if this snoozeshitfest continues, imma remote play Destiny while it's on :p

This episode was at least a little bit better than the first, Couple one-liners got me. Especially Tig's "think gay thoughts".
But WTF is with Sutter's obsession with rape and ass fucking? Almost every episode there is a line or a scene that mentions it.
And that action scene was pretty bad. CGI muzzle flashes, CGI debris, CGI blood, no visual style, music was fucking afwul. Yeah, action scenes in this show were always meh, but this one might be the worst.

Music is almost always fucking awful on this show.

EDIT - the Yelawolf song was pretty good though in the last episode.

I did enjoy that.

feel like sons of anarchy trying to do a breaking bad thing, total downfall of the protagonist who previously had some morals and dreams.

hope it all ends with Jax writing poetry about 'lessons he's learned in his time' etc etc. that would be funny and allow me to go 'yeah that show was shiiiiiit'.

I'll keep watching it for the murders though. I say go all out and make it the most badass biker gang ever. They're basically all serial killers at this point.

Whole show has been embarrassing for a while now. This season is approaching Dexter-levels of bad.

Every character is now a parody of themselves.

My prediction is Jax will survive the finale. That's how bad the show is and how pathetic the writing is.

Only watching to see how bad this car wreck can get.

Over the last month I've been marathoning this show, just finished season 6.

The first few seasons, it was pretty awesome, then...this thing has to feature one of the sharpest declines in quality that I've ever seen in a TV show with production values of this sort. Good fucking LORD. S5 was kinda bad but surely there isn't anyone sane out there that can truly say that S6 wasn't complete and absolute abject trash? Goddamn. What happened?

Should I even bother with season 7? Frog-fu's post up above is exactly how I feel.

I was on that crazy roller coaster ride that we call Dexter - sons of anarchy has absolutely nothing on the decline of that show.

For me the show turned to trash last season with the longer episodes. I enjoyed it up until then.

LOL I had forgotten about Dexter, that's how bad it was. So bad I stopped watching the final season a few episodes before the end, after investing years in it.

However, I think the decline is just as bad.

Wow. Somebody already forgot just how bad Dexter was at the end.

I still love this show. My wife and I just started it two months ago and have finally caught up to the rest of the world. Jax not questioning the Asian guy was the only part I have a beef with. The rest was fine.

And yeah some of the characters are annoying (Gemma) but I like Chibs, Jax, and Bobby. And Happy. Actually Tig would be ok but I'm still sore over Donna.

Looking forward to tonight.

Sutter making it impossible to root for anyone. Also Unser, wtf, you even stir shit up when you are napping in your trailer...

That's another problem. Everyone in the show is horrible now. Jax always had some good in him until last season and now he's capping innocents left and right for no reason. Still I blame the longer episodes on it's downfall. Now Sutter really gets to undulge in his montage fetish and put extra boring dialogue into the show. It was a great show at 40-42 minutes.

No.

I was on board with Dexter and Sons of Anarchy from the start of each show. Sons is seriously approaching Dexter-levels of awful.

The only reason people don't recognise this is that Sons was never really great in the first place. Dexter fell from a higher level so the decline was more noticeable.

Both shows were stretched beyond their natural story arc due to high ratings and both shows feature characters that have become parodies of themselves.

This has resulted in padded seasons full of fluff with characters who don't seem to be making any sort of rational decisions...even within the bizarre universes they inhabit.

The original episode of Sons was based on Jax finding his father's manifesto and suspecting Clay had a hand in his murder. That storyline has now been completely abandoned without any form of satisfactory conclusion and had been replaced by a series of torture porn sequences, shock pieces and music videos.

Nothing makes sense, characters no longer have an identity and the only conclusion that would satisfy is everyone dying the most horrible deaths.

The problem is that any good tragedy needs to have a moral, there needs to be consequences. The shootouts are a prime example of how there are no consequences in this show. The Sons run around town murdering everyone with impunity and even the bullets of their enemies don't seem to affect them. There is no lesson, there is nothing that any of the characters (or the audience) can possibly learn from their actions or overreactions.

Compare it to The Shield. Similar setup, but the quality of the characters and the writing is vastly different. Huge moral consequences. That's why one show goes down as one of the best of all time and the other will be remembered as one of the biggest jokes of all time.

Oblivion

Fetishing muscular manly men in skintight hosery
Zobelle got the hell outta town before the Sons could get him if I'm remembering correctly.

It wasn't a particularly satisfying end to his arc.

Sorry about the double post and long rant but...

Unser is a perfect example of a character who has outlived his usefulness, but for some reason, is still a main character.

Unser started as a cop willing to look the other way as long as the Sons kept the peace.

What is he now? Living with the enemy with full knowledge of the murderous fucking rampage the club had been on without turning them in because of the fact he is in love with Gemma? Gemma, who has proceeded to treat him like shit and fucked everyone under the sun but him!

What point has he served since retiring from the police?

I know what happened to him, I'm asking if that was it? I mean, they made it seem like he would only get a temporary reprieve until Jax got his son back, but they all just forgot about it after a while.

In that sense, it is similar to Dexter.

Unser's a walking plot device. All he does is literally wander around town, overhear or observe things without full context, gossip about aforementioned things, and inspire people like Gemma to rashly act out. He's a busybody who somehow hasn't figured out that he's constantly unintentionally stirring shit up. He's more or less Mr Magoo at this point.
