Err, we've seen maybe 2 minutes of inFamous footage and a few screens. Gimme dat stage demo please.

I'd rather they show a gameplay trailer tbh - we can see all we need to that way instead of a bloated onstage demo. Unless the gameplay is like... completely unlike the previous games in the series, which is unlikely.

Sony really needs to put up very nice quality versions of every trailer they show. It's insane to me they didn't put up the PS4 videos on PSN.

Well they probably like the GUI/UI in big picture mode rather than the XMB, it's more akin to the live arena GUI that the Vita uses.

In a dream world, Valve helps designed the new PS4 UI. Gabe is introduced to give a quick briefing of it and as he scrolls around you see a crowbar with a 3 and he says "whoops didn't want to see that yet?" and leaves the stage.

I think they want people to stream them later through PS Home (btw, been there yesterday for the free theme, and really disliked it - too many pervs around).

I really hope they don't spend too much time on awkward stage demos during the conference. No one wants to see that... :(

Totally agree.
Unless what they're showing is super innovative and different to the kinds of gameplay we've come to know and expect, there's no reason at all to have stage demos. Especially considering most demos we see are just scripted up to the eyeballs from start to finish.

Man, this thread moves fast. Caught up and lol at these two gifs.

Gameplay demo of infamous is something I can't wait to see.

And ready at dawn being so quiet just makes me think they have something big coming and have instituted a nobody say shit policy.

Yeah, stage demos are usually awful. I get the idea of showing it off live, but it just usually ends in disaster.

I don't know, the Watch Dogs stage demo is just about the only lasting memory I have of E3 2012. Yeah, they're usually highly scripted but when done right they do way more to sell a game than some chopped up trailer.

I am getting the impression the PS4 is going to be kind of square and chunky. Not sure I would like that.

I hope they dont over design this thing. Just give me a slick black rectangular box. I dont care just dont make it ugly with a bunch of weird angles and vents all over.
Absolutely.

I want something simple but stylish. Something like the Xbone really, although that's a little chunky for my tastes.

Well, besides E3 2012 being pretty boring overall, that could have just as easily been a cool pre-canned demo. No reason to risk another Assassin's Creed II glitch or Modern Warfare 2 controller malfunction. Just record something, stress that it's real-time gameplay on whatever platform, and show it.

That Watch Dogs demo was awesome though. One of my most anticipated of this year.

I think a good 'chopped up' trailer is a better way of showing off a game than an on-stage demo, which offers only a very limited glimpse of gameplay. I'd rather see loads of characters/locales/elements of the game than a short sequence played on stage by somebody who looks as though they're about to pass out with anxiety.

Well, a pre-recorded playthrough is basically the same thing. Either way it accomplishes more than a 2 minute trailer.

wonderful, thanks for chiming in

I wonder if Naughty Dog will show something? That might lead to a conflict of interest with RAD.

Why would it be a conflict of interest? Not that I think ND will show anything, I think they'll reveal something at the VGAs like they have been lately.

while it's rarely the case, the Uncharted 2 live demo was freaking brilliant

My expectations are low. I'm just expecting this:

- Infamous
- Driveclub
- Killzone Shadow Fall
- Gran Turismo 6
- Naughty Dog new IP
- Sony Santa Monica new IP
- Destiny
- Watch Dogs
- PS4 reveal

Still, I'm excited for the conference - all the above games, to me, sound fantastic. So I couldn't be happier.
