Company president and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida announced the plan during Sony's corporate strategy meeting on Tuesday,

He said increased speed, enhanced sensory perceptions generated by PS5's DualSense controller, and sound delivered in 3D audio will combine to create revolutionary and more immersive next-gen console game experiences.

"Games for the PS5 that deliver this new game experience are being made by both first and third-party developers and we plan to introduce a compelling line-up of titles soon," he said.

Commenting on the impact of the coronavirus last week, Sony said "major problems have not arisen in the game software development pipeline for Sony's own first-party studios or its partners' studios".

I just hope they live up to this statement. We saw what happens when you overpromise and underdeliver with that "next-gen world Gameplay reveal" on Series X.

I don't understand why are people so anxious about Sony, be it on forums or twitter, you know games are coming and you know they're gonna hit hard. That's what they do, make really good games. Consistently and not calculated it seems, otherwise they wouldn't release 2 huge AAA titles for PS4 in next gen year.

Thy have never let me down overall in regards to games on their Playstations so tht is the last worry on my mind. Well it isn't a worry at all, thts a given. Sequels to goty and fun ips and new Ips from some of the best devs in the world incoming.

Yeah I don't understand ppls thinking. Thy don't let down in this regard. Like ppl don't believe in constant, perpetual history of goty winners and ips? This isn't another company, it's Sony.
 
I want to see the games and what the console looks like. Surely they'll throw us a bone before the month's out.

I meant more just this particular presentation, not the generation as a whole. I have zero doubt PS5 will eventually have an amazing library.

Rumor has it they want a final retail unit in hand and not a prototype style unit to show off. But an actual in hands unit you would buy at the store tomorrow. I would not be surprised they pull an Apple on release window from showing the actual box.

This is the stuff I wish they'd lead with. Tech is fun to hear about but all I really care about is what exclusives Sony is bringing to the table. I get it...the storage setup on PS5 is cool and innovative....but what really matter is the quality of the games that are LOADING from the hard drives!
 
Should we board the Hype train? I hope the train arrives one day before the event so everyone can board it and jump on it.

I am excited about this, even if they show concepts we will get a first glimpse of what will be in store for the next years. I really want to see footage of gameplay from Guerrilla, or Naughty Dog.
 
I hope we get Ridge Racer and Giant Enemy Crab with updated SSD quantum flux nanoparticle shading vector transfer effect subscriptions.
 
They better have something really interesting. The only existing IP I have any interest in now is Horizon. So if they wanna sell me a PS5 these new IPs better be damn exciting.

For the first time in 25 years I might actually ditch PlayStation.

What do you care? Super strange to show a bunch of games without giving more details on the system. Showing games is always great. I'm looking forward to first party titles. I just hope they aren't doing what they did with PS3, where they showed ( trailers ) and people thought it was coming out the same year ( and they had no intention of sharing that it wasn't).

I wonder if some of the suits that work for the company get warned. Be careful what you say and how you say it. Those gamers are a fickle bunch, they will bring wrath like you have never seen!!!! LOL I dont think there is another industry out there that is cutthroat as gaming!

I was just curious because i find it strange for someone to come in a thread that is about Sony announcing that they will focus on games on their next presentation (which is after all the most important selling point of any console) and to ask when they will show how the console will look.
But hey maybe i'm the weird one who is more curious to see next gen games than the looks of a box.In that case my apologies.

There's a ton of science and research that goes into marketing. That's people's entire profession. It makes it that much stranger when they screw up and do things like emphasizing gameplay when they know their reveal is light on gameplay. They should know that causes more trouble than it helps. But all these marketing teams screw up from time to time.

I hope we get at least one mp exclusive for launch. After all thats what we pay for plus mainly cuz the free games haven't been near as good as they were on Ps3.

I didn't wanna open up my HZD game still wrapped so i bought the complete edition digitally. Going to finally start it this week so I'll be fresh if 2 does come on launch (although I as of now i much rather a new killzone).
